Onbaatzuchtig in liefde werkzaam zijn - De juiste wandel voor God

Onderzoek uzelf. Oefen strengste kritiek uit op uzelf in hoeverre u zich aan de geboden van God onderwerpt en of uw denken en handelen overeenstemmen met de wil van God. U zult aan één ding moeten denken, dat u niet voorbij gaat aan het goddelijk gebod van de liefde. U zult steeds tot richtsnoer moeten nemen, dat u in liefde werkzaam bent op een onbaatzuchtige manier. U hebt op aarde een taak te vervullen: uw ziel rijp te laten worden. En u kunt dit alleen door een levenswandel te leiden die God welgevallig is, dus geheel en al beantwoordt aan Zijn wil. En daarom zult u uw best moeten doen elke eigenliefde af te leggen. U zult onder afzien van de eigen wensen steeds moeten proberen de medemens gelukkig te maken. U zult hem de liefde moeten bewijzen die Jezus Christus u heeft geleerd, de zuivere onzelfzuchtige liefde die ook opofferingsgezind is en die geen eigen voordeel nastreeft.

Zo’n liefde is God welgevallig en zal u geestelijke vooruitgang opleveren. U zult het doel van uw aards bestaan vervullen en u zult daarvoor in ruil de liefde Gods ontvangen die Zijn liefde alleen over u kan uitzenden als u zelf in liefde werkzaam bent. En deze goddelijke liefde zal u gelukkig maken. Ze zal u duizendvoudig vergoeden wat u op aarde opgeeft, wat u vrijwillig voor Hem opoffert om de naaste te helpen. En zo zult u zich altijd de goddelijke liefde moeten proberen waardig te maken, door een levenswandel geheel naar Zijn wil. U offert niet, maar u ontvangt. Het zijn alleen andere goederen die de onbaatzuchtige naastenliefde u oplevert. Het zijn geen aardse goederen of vreugden van de wereld, maar het is zuiver geestelijk goed dat God u nu bezorgt. Want alleen dit is ware rijkdom die onvergankelijk is en die u nooit meer hoeft af te staan als u het eenmaal hebt ontvangen.

Gods liefde bedenkt uw ziel en tracht haar gelukkig te maken. En wat u uit Zijn hand in ontvangst neemt, is waarlijk heel wat waardevoller dan wat de wereld u kan bieden, wat u aan aardse vervulling nastreeft. De liefde Gods heeft geen maat en kan u in alle volheid toestromen, zodat u op aarde al de gelukzaligheid kunt genieten die uit de verbondenheid met Hem voor u voortvloeien. Streef daarom naar deze verbondenheid zolang u op aarde werkzaam bent. Want de sterkte van het verlangen is de maatstaf voor haar overvloed. Leef in de liefde, help altijd en begeer niets voor uzelf. Voel mee met elke nood van de medemens, probeer ze te lenigen door daadkrachtige hulp. Wees geestelijk of lichamelijk de gids van diegenen die op aarde leiding nodig hebben. Breng elk offer als u daardoor goed werk verricht en treed onzelfzuchtig terug wanneer u daardoor de toestand van uw medemensen kunt verbeteren. Leef in de liefde. Houd u aan de goddelijke geboden en maak u daardoor waardig, een kandidaat voor het rijk Gods te zijn, dat God diegenen heeft beloofd die Hem liefhebbenen en deze liefde voor Hem bewijzen door onbaatzuchtig werkzaam te zijn in liefde voor de naaste.

Unselfish labor of love.... right walk before God....

Examine yourselves, exercise the strictest criticism of yourselves as to how far you submit yourselves to God's commandments and whether your thoughts and actions correspond to God's will.... You must bear one thing in mind, that you do not disregard the divine commandment of love, you must always and constantly make this your guiding principle, that you are active in love in the most unselfish way. You have a task to fulfill on earth, to mature your soul, and you can only do this by leading a way of life which is pleasing to God, thus fully complies with His will. And therefore you must make an effort to discard all selfish love, you must only ever strive to make your fellow human being happy by renouncing your own wishes, you must show him the love which Jesus Christ taught you.... pure, selfless love which is also willing to make sacrifices and does not strive for its own advantage. Such love is pleasing to God and will bring you spiritual progress; you will fulfill the purpose of your earthly life and you will receive God's love in return, Who can only radiate His love to you if you are active in love yourselves. And this divine love will make you happy, it will replace a thousand fold what you give on earth, what you voluntarily sacrifice to Him in order to help your neighbor. And thus you should always try to make yourselves worthy of divine love by living entirely in accordance with His will. You do not sacrifice, but you receive, only that it is other goods which unselfish neighborly love earns you, that they are not earthly goods or pleasures of the world, but purely spiritual goods which God now imparts to you. For this alone is true wealth, which is everlasting and which you will never have to give away once you have received it. God's love considers your soul and tries to make it happy. And what you receive from His hand is truly far more valuable than what the world can offer you, what you strive for in terms of earthly fulfillment.... God's love has no measure and can flow to you in all abundance so that you can already enjoy the bliss on earth which arises from your bond with Him. And therefore strive for this bond as long as you work on earth, for the strength of desire is the measure of its fullness.... Live in love, help at all times and desire nothing for yourselves, take part in every adversity of your fellow human being, try to alleviate it through active help, be the spiritual and physical leader of those who need guidance on earth, make every sacrifice if you thereby accomplish a good work and selflessly step back if you can thereby improve the situation of your fellow human beings.... Live in love, keep the divine commandments and thereby make yourselves worthy to be a candidate for the kingdom of God, which God has promised to those who love Him and prove this love to Him through unselfish acts of love for their neighbor....
