Werkzaam zijn van de lichtwezens – Teleurstellingen – Zelfverloochening
De krachten van de hemel en de aarde verenigen zich om de Heer in alle toegenegenheid te dienen. En talloze verbindingen worden tot stand gebracht, die weer een tegenwerking van de boze macht betekenen. Dus waar de liefde actief is, wordt de boze macht verzwakt, omdat ze niet meer in die mate actief kan zijn en haar invloed kan uitoefenen op de mens, voor wie deze verlossende liefde bestemd is.
Want daar beginnen de lichtwezens hun werkzaamheid, doordat ze de mens via de gedachten onderwijzen over alle gevaren voor de ziel en de mens nu meer aandacht schenkt aan zijn zielenleven. Het werkzaam zijn van de lichtwezens is niet altijd zichtbaar, maar overal daar gewaar te worden, waar de gedachten van de mens zich met God bezighouden. Hoe groter de wereldse nood is, des te eerder zal het de lichtwezens lukken om via de gedachten op de mensen in te werken en des te groter zal het getal van degenen zijn, die God zoeken en Hem dus ook vinden.
De lichtwezens zijn ijverig in hun werkzaamheid, want dat wordt met de grootste liefde en het grootste geduld uitgevoerd. Het lichtwezen zal de mens, die aan zijn bescherming toevertrouwd is, nooit verlaten en hij zal zich steeds op zo’n manier uiten, die zijn voortdurende zorg verraadt. De mens zal door allerlei gevaren gaan, die hem er steeds aan herinneren om aan het leven van zijn ziel te denken. En al deze gevaren en deze nood zijn in zekere zin hulpmiddelen voor het lichtwezen om de gedachten van de mensen naar het eeuwig goddelijke te leiden. Als het hen gelukt is, dan wordt het voor hen makkelijker en succesrijker, want dan bestaan er geen hindernissen meer voor een uitwisseling van gedachten tussen de lichtwezens en de mensen en de kansen op succes zijn groter geworden.
De goddelijke liefde geeft het lichtwezen grote macht over het hem toevertrouwde mensenkind, in zoverre het hem de gebeurtenissen zo toebedelen kan, als deze succes beloven, want de liefde van het lichtwezen is zo groot, dat het werkelijk louter ter bevordering van de ziel de mensen in aardse nood en aards gevaar laat komen, in het besef, dat deze het snelst aan de vooruitgang van de ziel bijdragen.
En de lichtwezens zijn weer vertrouwd met het aardse leven van de hun toevertrouwde zielen. Ze kennen elke opwelling van de ziel, elk aards en ook elk geestelijk verlangen en ze proberen met alles zo rekening te houden, dat de ziel hier haar voordeel uit haalt, wat nu ook vereist, dat de mens veel van waar hij vurig naar verlangt, ontzegd moet worden, omdat in de vervulling hiervan een groot gevaar voor de ziel ligt.
En nu is het ook begrijpelijk waarom het aardse leven van de mensen veel meer teleurstellingen en een zich ontzeggen oplevert, dan de vervulling van zijn aardse wensen. Dit vervullen vormt het grootste gevaar voor de ziel, want die verhindert vaak het opstijgen van de geest tot deze hoogte, die de ziel pas het succes van een geestelijke rijpheid oplevert. Ze is hinderlijk voor de geestelijke verdere ontwikkeling van de ziel door de lichtwezens. Ze houdt de gedachten van de mensen op de aarde gericht en beletten die gedachten de vlucht omhoog en dit is altijd schadelijk voor de vooruitgang van de ziel.
De liefde van de lichtwezens is echter zo groot, dat die het mensenkind niet in dit gevaar kan laten en daarom de hindernis wegneemt, ofschoon dit de mens pijn en verdriet bezorgt. Maar eens zal de ziel de liefde van deze wezens herkennen en hen dankbaar zijn voor alles, wat de toestand van rijpheid bevorderde en licht en kennis opgeleverd heeft.

Work of the beings of light.... disappointments.... renunciations....
The forces of heaven and earth unite in order to serve the lord in all devotion, and thus countless connections are established which again signify a counteraction of the evil power. Thus, where love is active, the evil power is weakened, for it can no longer be active to the same extent and exert its influence on the person to whom this redeeming love applies. For this is where the beings of light begin their activity by mentally instructing the human being of all dangers to the soul and thus the human being now pays more attention to his soul life. The activity of the beings of light is not always visible but it is noticeable wherever people's thoughts are occupied with God. The greater the worldly adversity, the more likely it is that the beings of light will succeed in mentally influencing people and the greater the number of those who seek God and thus also find Him. The activity of the beings of light is a diligent one, for it is carried out with utmost love and patience. The being of light will never abandon the human being who is entrusted to its protection and will always express itself in a way that reveals its constant care. The human being will go through many dangers which will always remind him to think of his soul's life.... And all these dangers and hardships are to a certain extent aids for the beings of light to direct the thoughts of the human being towards the eternal divine. Once they have succeeded in doing so, their work is easier and more successful, for then there are no obstacles to the mental exchange between beings of light and human beings and the possibilities for success are greater. Divine love gives the being of light great power over the earthly child entrusted to it insofar as that it can assign the events to it in such a way that they promise success, for the being of light's love is so great that it truly only allows the human being to experience earthly adversity and danger for the sake of the soul's advancement, in the realization that such is most likely to contribute towards the soul's progress. And the beings of light are again familiar with the earthly life of the souls entrusted to them, they know every impulse of the soul, every earthly and also every spiritual desire, and try to take everything into account so that the soul draws its advantage from it, which now also causes that man must be denied much of what he longs for, because in the fulfilment lies a great danger for the soul. And now it is also understandable why earthly life brings the human being far more disappointments and renunciations than fulfilment of his earthly wishes. These are the greatest danger for the soul, for they often prevent the spirit from rising to those heights which first bring the soul the success of spiritual maturity. They hinder the soul's mental development through the beings of light, they hold the human being's thoughts back on earth and prevent them from flying upwards, and this is always detrimental to the soul's progress. However, the light beings' love is so great that they cannot leave the earthly child in this danger and therefore remove the obstacle, even though this causes the human being pain and grief. Yet one day the soul will regocnize the love of these beings and thank them for everything that has promoted the state of maturity and brought light and realization to the soul....
