‘Tijd en ruimte’ – Eindeloos en talloos – Werkplaats van de geestelijke wezens

Neem het geschenk, dat jou aangeboden wordt, met een gelovig hart aan, en zie daar de voortdurende liefde van de Heer in. In de aaneensluiting van het werken van alle natuurkrachten ziet de mens een geregelde werkzaamheid van alle geestelijke wezens, oftewel de zich in de natuur openbarende geestelijke krachten. Al dezen voeren die ene wil uit die over ze heerst, en ze handelen, in onvolmaakte toestand deels geleid, deels zelf willend, wanneer haar geestestoestand reeds overeenkomt met volmaaktheid, echter wel hetzelfde willend. Zo zal nu ook de huidige werkzaamheid van de geestelijke wezens zich aan hun staat van rijpheid aanpassen.

Er is zo oneindig veel in het scheppingswerk van God dat de werkzaamheid van de geestelijke wezens vereist, van het tot leven brengen van de kleinste creaturen tot de geestelijke vooruitgang van de menselijke ziel. Er is niets wat deze geestkracht ontberen kan, want al wat bestaat is onvermijdelijk daarmee verbonden. Zo zijn ook de begrippen “eindeloos” en “talloos” enigszins begrijpelijk wanneer men alles in de natuur bekijkt en met het werken van zulke geestkrachten in verband brengt. Het wordt de mens dan duidelijk dat ook nooit of te nimmer het begrip “tijd” en “ruimte” van toepassing kan zijn in het scheppingswerk van God, dat alles van eeuwigheid af bestaat en nooit kan vergaan. Dat niets begrensd kan zijn en derhalve eindeloos is, en dat de scheppende kracht zich in talloze bouwsels te kennen geeft, die in een voortdurende, niet te verwoesten toestand van leven bevinden. Dit is zo geweldig, dat al het menselijke verstand de omvang en betekenis van de schepping niet bevatten kan. Maar God is een eeuwige geest. Aan Hem is alles onderworpen. Hij weet alles en ziet alles. Zijn wil en Zijn liefde omvatten alles en Zijn kracht is zo geweldig dat zij alles leven kan geven en onderhouden tot in alle eeuwigheid.

Aan de geest uit God is eveneens alles onderworpen, voor zover hij de vereniging met de eeuwige godheid tot stand gebracht heeft. Dan is hem alle macht gegeven en werkt hij steeds alleen maar overeenkomstig de wil van God. Maar de wil en de macht van God strekt zich ook uit over de nog van Hem gescheiden geestelijke wereld en wijst ook daar iedere geestelijke kracht haar werkzaamheid toe, waarvan de vervulling, hoewel onderworpen aan de wil van God, toch vooruitgang betekent voor dit wezen. Het gehele scheppingswerk is dus als het ware de werkplaats van talloze geestelijke wezens. Het is de school van de geest, die, door God Zelf geleid, wezens tot evenbeeld van God moeten vormen. Want de kracht van God is eindeloos en Zijn liefde houdt nooit op, en deze liefde geldt onafgebroken Zijn schepselen die Hij met Zijn kracht uitrusten wil. Zo is het doel van alle geestelijke wezens toch alleen het evenbeeld aan God.

“Time and space....”

Receive the gift that is offered to you with a believing heart, and see in it the constant love of the Lord. In the union of the work of all natural forces, man sees a regulated activity of all spiritual beings, respectively of the spiritual forces expressing themselves in nature. All these carry out the one will that commands them, and they act partly guided in an imperfect state, partly self-willed, but wanting the same, if their spiritual state already corresponds to perfection. Thus, the respective activity of the spiritual beings will now also adapt to their state of maturity. There is so much in God's work of creation that requires the activity of the spiritual beings, from the animation of the smallest creatures to the spiritual advancement of the human soul.

Nothing exists that can do without this spiritual power, because all existence is inevitably connected with it. Thus also the terms "endless" and "innumerable" are to some extent comprehensible, if one considers everything in nature and connects it with the working of such spiritual forces. Then it becomes clear to the human being that also never and never the term "time" and "space" can find application in the work of creation of God, that everything is from eternity and can never pass.... that nothing can be limited and is therefore endless.... and that the creative power manifests itself in innumerable formations which are in constant, not-to-be-destroyed life.

This is so tremendous that all human intellect cannot grasp the greatness and significance of the creation..... But God is eternal Spirit.... All things are subject to Him.... He knows about everything and sees everything.... His will and His love comprehend everything, and His power is so mighty that it can animate and sustain everything for all eternity.... Everything is likewise subject to the spirit out of God, provided that he has brought about the unification with the eternal Godhead. Then all power is given to it and it only always works according to the will of God.

But the will and the power of God extends also to the spiritual world, which is still separated from Him, and also there assigns it's activity to every spiritual power, the fulfillment of which, although subject to the will of God, nevertheless means ascent for this being. The entire work of creation is therefore as it were the working place of innumerable spiritual beings.... it is the school of the spirit which, guided by God Himself, is to form beings to God-likeness.... because the power out of God is infinite, and his love never stops, and this love is constantly meant for His creatures which He wants to endow with His power.... So the goal of all spiritual beings is only the God-likeness....
