육체와 혼과 영이 하나가 되는 과제.

사람의 혼이 혼 안의 영과 하나가 되는 일이 사람의 사명이다. 이런 사명을 성취시키면, 혼의 운명은 이미 보장이 되고 혼이 땅을 떠나면, 이 땅의 삶은 성공한 삶이 된다. 육신을 입기 시작할 때는 혼과 영이 아직 떨어져 있다. 왜냐면 혼이 자신을 의식하는 존재로서 자원하여 이런 영과 혼의 분리를 일으켰기 때문이다. 혼이 이제 자원하여 하나가 돼야만 하고 영과의 연합을 추구해야만 한다. 혼은 자신의 사랑을 행하려는 의지를 혼에게 알려야만 한다. 그러면 영은 또한 혼을 도울 준비가 된다. 왜냐면 하나님 자신인 영원한 아버지의 영이 이제 혼에게 다가오기 때문이다.

아버지의 영은 혼에게 역사한다. 왜냐면 아버지의 영이 이 땅의 과정을 위해 혼에게 자신의 불씨를 주었기 때문이다. 영의 불씨는 이제 하나님의 일부로서 인도하고 가르치는 일을 하고 혼을 자신에게 이끌어 이로써 또한 영원한 아버지 영을 향하도록 재촉한다. 최종 목표인 자유와 축복을 의미하는 하나님과 연합을 보장받기 위해 단지 혼과 자신의 영의 결합이 이뤄져야만 한다.

삶의 의미를 찾는 일이 단순한 해결책이다. 그러나 사람들이 단지 희귀하게 이런 해결책을 추구한다. 왜냐면 혼이 전혀 감동을 받지 못하고 혼이 혼 안의 영의 불씨에게 혼을 가르치는 권리를 인정하지 않고 혼이 사랑을 행함으로 자신과 영 사이의 분리를 아직 연결하지 않는 동안에는 혼은 자신의 이 땅의 삶목적을 깨닫지 못하고 혼의 생각과 갈망이 단지 세상으로 향하고 이런 동안에서 혼의 이 땅의 삶이 성공하지 못하고 혼에게 가장 작은 성장도 주지 못하기 때문이다. 그러나 영과 혼이 하나가 되는 일이 혼이 이 땅에서 사는 목적이다.

인간의 의지는 하나님과 빛의 세계에 의해 단지 이 전과는 다른 방향으로 향하도록 영향을 받을 수 있다. 왜냐면 이런 하나가 되는 일은 항상 자유의지의 역사이고 자유의지의 역사로 머물게 될 것이기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님과 빛의 세계는 항상 혼의 자유를 존중하면서 역사하고 그러므로 아주 큰 인내와 끈기가 필요하다. 인간의 의지를 강제적으로 정할 수 있다면, 영적으로 저조한 상태가 그렇게 끔찍하게 낮게 되지 않았 것이다. 그러나 이런 일은 이 땅에서 현재처럼 위험한 상태가 아닌 평화의 상태가 되게 만들었을지라도 개개인의 영적 성장을 위해 가치가 없다. 의지의 자유는 존재가 깊게 타락하는 결과를 가져올지라도 보장받아만 한다.

사람들이 자원하여 하나님께 돌아가야만 하고 자원하여 자신 안의 자기 사랑을 이웃을 향한 자신의 유익을 구하지 않는 사랑으로 바꾸어 이로서 그들의 혼과 영이 연합이 되게 해야 한다. 그러나 사람들은 하나님과 빛이 충만한 세계로부터 모든 면에서 지원을 받는다. 왜냐면 이 땅의 삶에서 일어나는 모든 사건들이 의지를 변화시키는 일이 가능한 방식으로 사람들에게 일어나기 때문이다. 혼은 눈에 띄지 않게 하나님께 이끌림을 받는다. 혼이 이전의 저항을 포기할 자세를 가지면, 혼은 하나님의 사랑에 의해 붙잡힘을 받는다. 그러면 혼은 자신 안의 영에게 귀를 기울이고 영원히 더 이상 어두움의 나라에 빠질 수 없게 된다.

Body.... soul.... spirit.... unification task....

It is the human being's destiny that his soul should unite with the spirit within himself.... If this destiny is adhered to, then the soul's fate is already assured, then the earthly life has been successful when the soul departs from earth. At the beginning of embodiment both.... soul and spirit.... are still separated, for the soul, as an ego-conscious being, had voluntarily accomplished this separation. It must now voluntarily unite again, it itself must seek union with the spirit, it must reveal its willingness to love to the spirit, which is then also immediately ready to help it, for God Himself.... the father spirit from eternity.... now comes to meet it. He has an effect on the soul, for a spark of Himself is given to the soul for the earthly change, which now also has a guiding and instructing effect as part of God and draws the soul to Himself and thus also constantly pushes it towards the father-spirit of eternity.... Only the soul's unification with its spirit within itself needs to take place in order to also secure the final aim: the union with God, which signifies freedom and beatitude. It is a simple solution to find the meaning of life, and yet this solution is rarely sought by people only because it is incomprehensible to them as long as the soul has still remained completely unimpressed, as long as it has not yet granted the spiritual spark within itself the right to instruct them.... as long as it has not yet bridged the separation between itself and the spirit through its own working of love.... as long as it does not recognize its purpose of earthly life, and its thinking and desire is only earthly directed.... and as long as its earthly life is also unsuccessful and does not earn it the slightest ascent, for the unification of spirit and soul is the purpose and aim of its earthly change. And since this unification is and will always remain an act of free will, the human being's will can only ever be influenced by God and the world of light so that he takes a different direction than before, yet always with respect for his freedom, which therefore requires great patience and perseverance. The spiritual low would not be so alarmingly low if humanity's will could be forcibly directed, yet this would be worthless for the individual person's spiritual development, even if a state of peace would then be recognizable on earth instead of the present adversity.... Freedom of will must be preserved, even if this results in a sinking of the essence into the depths.... People must voluntarily return to God, voluntarily they must change the self-love dwelling in them into unselfish neighbourly love and thereby accomplish the unification of their soul with the spirit.... Yet in every way they will find support from God and the world of light, for all events in earthly life approach people in such a way that a change of will is possible.... Imperceptibly the soul is drawn by God.... and as soon as it is willing to relinquish its former resistance it will be seized by God's love.... then it will give ear to the spirit within itself, and then it can no longer eternally sink back into the kingdom of darkness....
