영의 역사-세상 지식. 신성을 깨닫는 일.

인간이 영의 역사를 통해 받은 지식에 비할 때 세상의 가장 큰 지식은 빛을 잃게 되야만 한다. 세상 지식이 믿음이 있고, 하나님을 인정하고, 하나님을 추구하고, 그의 삶이 자신의 유익을 구하지 않는 이웃 사랑을 행하는 사람의 심장에서 나온 것이면, 이런 세상지식은 영의 역사를 통해 받은 지식과 일치해야만 한다. 결과적으로 이런 사람들이 영적 문제에 대해 생각할 때, 그들은 항상 진리 안에서 움직일 것이다. 왜냐하면 그들은 자신의 이성의 힘으로 자신들의 질문에 답하지 않고, 하나님의 영이 그들을 가르치기 때문에, 심장에서 떠오르는 생각들이 항상 진리가 될 것이기 때문이다.

지식이 다르게 습득된 경우, 다시 말해 사고를 통해 얻은 것이지만, 인간과 가장 가까운 관계에 있는 하나님의 존재를 깨닫지 못하고 결과적으로 하나님의 존재의 힘을 요구하지 않고, 세상적인 감각으로 얻은 것이다. 그러면 그런 지식이 진리에 합당하게 되는 일이 어렵게 될 것이다. 그러나 그가 사랑을 행하면, 그는 이미 영원한 하나님을 깨닫는 일에 가까워졌고, 이런 사람들이 올바른 생각을 하도록 움직이기 위해 작은 자극으로, 올바른 가르침으로 충분하다.

본질적인 신성을 거부하는 일이 항상 신성을 거부하는 것은 아니다. 왜냐면 신성을 자연의 힘으로 인정할 때, 이는 신성을 인정하는 것이기 때문이다. 그럴지라도 자연의 힘과 창조의 작품인 인간과 밀접하게 연관시키는 일은 어렵다. 신성이 각 개인의 운명을 인도하고 지도한다. 그러므로 인간으로써 존재의 개념이 없는 신성과 접촉을 이루는 일은 불가능하다. 그러나 이런 접촉을 이루지 못하면, 그의 영적 성장에 필요한 하나님의 힘의 흐름이 인간에게 전달될 수 없고, 그의 내면이 빛이 될 수 없고, 단지 생명 유지에 필요한 생명력만이 그에게 주어진다. 이는 두뇌가 기능을 하는 일로, 순전히 이성적인 사고를 하는 일로 이해할 수 있다.

그러나 단지 그런 일로는 순전히 영적인 문제에 대한 진리에 합당한 결과를 얻을 수 없다. 영원한 신성은 이런 문제에 대한 해결책을 가지고 있고, 이런 해결책을 모든 믿음으로 자신과 접촉하는 사람들에게 제공한다. 그러므로 그들은 자신들이 신성과 분리될 수 없게 연합이 되어 있는 것을 느끼면서, 이런 신성에게 자신을 의탁한다. 왜냐면 그들의 자유의지에도 불구하고 그들이 끊임없이 의존되어 있음을 깨닫고, 이런 깨달음의 결과로 하나님을 실체로 부르고 진리를 갈망하기 때문이다. 하나님의 도움을 긴밀하게 구하지 않고, 생각하는 일은 절대로 순수한 진리를 얻을 수 없다. 그러나 사랑이 있는 곳에는 깨달음이 더 이상 멀리에 있지 않다. 그러나 사랑이 없는 사람의 이성의 지식은 진리와는 거리가 멀다. 왜냐면 하나님의 영의 역사가 그런 사람에게 일어나지 않고, 하나님이 없이는 어떤 진리도 얻을 수 없기 때문이다.

Working of the spirit - world Knowledge.... recognizing the deity....

The greatest worldly knowledge must pale in comparison to the knowledge the human being has received through the working of the spirit; and again, the worldly knowledge must also correspond to this knowledge if it is born from a believing, God-affirming and God-aspiring heart whose life is an activity of unselfish neighbourly love. Consequently, these people will also always move in truth when they think about spiritual problems, for they do not answer their questions by virtue of their intellect but their thoughts arise from the heart and will therefore always be truth because the spirit of God instructs them. If the knowledge is gained in a different way, i.e., if it has also been gained through thinking but with a worldly sense, without recognizing a divine being Which is closely related to the human being and consequently also without requesting the strength of a divine being, then it will hardly correspond to the truth, for a person with such an attitude is rarely capable of love and active in love. As soon as he is lovingly active, however, he is already close to recognizing the eternal deity, and then a small impulse, a right instruction, is enough to move this person to right thinking. The rejection of an essential deity need not always be a denial of the deity, for by recognizing the deity as a force of nature this deity is also affirmed; however, it is difficult to bring the force of nature into closer connection with the human being's work of creation, Which guides and directs each individual's destiny.... And therefore it is not possible as a human being to establish contact with a deity for Whom the concept of an entity is ruled out. Without establishing this contact, however, the flow of power from God cannot be channelled to the human being, which determines his spiritual development.... It cannot become light in him.... Only the life force necessary for the preservation of life comes to him, which also includes the function of the brain, the purely intellectual thinking. But this alone will never be able to produce truthful results in purely spiritual problems. The eternal deity reserves the solution to these problems for Itself and offers it to those who establish contact with It in all faith, who therefore entrust themselves to this deity as feeling inseparably connected, because they recognize themselves as being in constant dependence despite their free will and now, as a result of their realization, call upon God as an entity and desire the truth. Thought activity without a heartfelt appeal for God's help can never result in pure truth. But where there is love, this realization is no longer far.... however, anyone who lacks love is far removed from the truth. For the working of the divine spirit is switched off there, and without God no truth can be brought about....
