믿지 않는 사람의 생각과 생각의 변화.

믿지 않는 사람의 생각은 믿는 사람의 생각과 전혀 다른 결과를 나타낸다. 믿지 않는 사람의 생각은 대부분 단지 세상의 영역을 항해 있다. 왜냐하면 사람이 믿음이 없을 수록, 그가 세상과 세상 재물과 더 연합되어 있기 때문이다. 세상을 초월하는 일에 대한 생각이 그에게 아주 생소하여, 세상을 초월하는 일을 그에게 설명하면, 그는 이를 환상이라며 거부한다. 그에게 세상을 초월하는 일은 영접할 수 없게 보인다. 왜냐하면 그는 세상을 당연한 것으로, 각각의 피조물들이 사람들에게 모든 편안함을 제공해주고, 사람은 가능한대로 최대로 누리고, 유익을 얻어야 한다는 것 외에 세상과 각각의 피조물 사이에 다른 연관관계가 없는 것으로 여기기 때문이다.

이런 관점이 그가 영의 영역을 생각해보는 일을 전적으로 불가능하게 만든다. 이런 사람들에게 이 땅의 삶에 대한 다른 관점을 갖게 해주는 일은 어렵다. 그들에게 세상의 목적과 목표는 단지 육체의 행복을 증가시키는 일과 제한이 없이 삶을 즐기는 일이다. 그러나 하나님은 이런 사람들에게도 그들의 육체를 자주 연약하게 하면서, 이로써 그가 어떻게 할 수 없는, 자신에 대항하는 권세를 깨닫게 하면서 경고해준다. 그러나 그들은 이런 일을 자연적인 일로 설명하려고 시도한다. 그러면 그들은 자신들의 능력으로 해결할 수 없는 다른 고난과 비참함으로 더 강한 가르침을 받아야만 한다.

한 사람의 삶의 운명은 사람의 마음대로 이뤄지지 않고, 세상의 행복을 강제로 얻을 수 없고, 또한 사람은 사람의 삶과 죽음에 관한 결정을 할 수 없다. 그가 이제 심각한 고난을 당하면, 그는 자신에게 아무런 권세가 없음을 깨닫는다. 그는 이제 이런 일을 통해 자신을 깨닫게 해주기 원하는 높은 권세를 생각한다. 그러면 비로소 그의 생각이 자신의 이웃사람들을 향한 관점에 따라 영의 세계로 향한다.

단지 자신 만을 사랑하는 사람은 깨달음에 도달하기가 어렵다. 그러나 이웃사람들을 전적으로 제외시키지 않고, 동참하며, 비록 단지 아주 적은 크기라 할지라도, 이웃사람을 도와주는 사람은 쉽게 영원한 하나님을 깨닫는다. 전적으로 믿지 않는 사람이 다른 관점에 도달하기 위해서는 단지 긴 시간이 소요된다. 이런 사람들에게 그들의 생각을 바꿀 수 있는 이 땅의 삶이 오랜 기간 주어진다면, 이런 일은 은혜이다.

왜냐하면 육체가 연약해진다면, 세상과 세상의 재물을 향한 갈망이 줄어들기 때문이다. 그러면 빛의 존재가 들어갈 문을 찾으려고 시도하고, 그의 생각에 역사하려고 시도하고, 그의 거부하려는 의지가 더 이상 아주 강하지 않다. 그러나 그가 자신의 영적인 부족함을 이 땅에서 보충하고, 필요한 혼의 성장에 도달하기 원하면, 그의 삶의 방식이 전적으로 변하는 일이 필요하다. 하나님의 도움이 언제든지 그에게 제공되고, 사람이 단지 스스로 원하면, 사람은 모든 일을 할 수 있다.

Thought activity of an unbeliever and transformation....

The mental activity of an unbeliever produces completely different results than that of a believer. For the most part, the former's thinking only moves in the earthly realm, for the more unbelieving a person is, the more he is connected to the world and its goods. Thoughts of something supernatural are so far removed from him, and if they are brought to him, he rejects them as fantasy; they are also unacceptable to him, for he regards the world as a matter of course that has no other connection with the individual creatures than that man should make use of all its comforts and derive the greatest possible enjoyment and advantage from it. This attitude makes him completely incapable of thinking his way into spiritual areas, and such people can hardly be taught a different view of life on earth. The aim and purpose of this remains for them only increased well-being of the body and unrestricted enjoyment of life. And yet God does not leave these people without warnings either by often weakening the body in such a way that they recognize from it that a power against which they are unable to stand is opposing them.... Admittedly, they also try to explain this to themselves as a natural phenomenon, and then they must receive stronger indications in the form of other suffering and misery which they are unable to banish by their own strength. The fate of an individual's life cannot be arbitrarily shaped by him, earthly happiness cannot be forced, and man cannot decide on life and death either, and as soon as he is seriously threatened he recognizes his complete powerlessness. And now he plays with the thought of a higher power that wants to make itself recognizable. And only then do his thoughts wander into the spiritual world, depending on his attitude towards his fellow human beings. A person who only has selfish love will hardly attain realization, but a person who does not completely isolate himself from his fellow human beings, who takes an interest in them and supports them, even if only to a small extent, will more easily come to recognize the eternal divine, only it will take a longer time before a completely unbelieving person acquires a different view, and it is a blessing for such people if they are granted a long earthly life which can still bring about a change in their thinking. For when the body's strength begins to diminish, the desire for the world and its possessions will also diminish, and then the beings of light will try to enter and have an effect mentally and the will to reject will no longer be so strong. But then a complete change of lifestyle is necessary if he still wants to make up for his spiritual deficiencies on earth and attain the necessary maturity of soul. God's help is available to him at all times and the human being can do anything if he only wants to....
