진실. 의지. 연약한 믿음.

진리를 찾는 사람은 올바른 깨달음 가운데 머문다. 그는 진리에 모순되는 모든 것을 느낌으로 거부한다. 그러므로 그의 영이 기꺼이 받아들이는 모든 것은 믿을 수 있다. 진리를 원하는 사람은 자신을 기꺼이 하나님의 능력에 의탁한다. 이를 통해 이미 거짓 가르침을 받아들이지 않도록 보호를 받는다. 그가 자신의 뜻을 하나님의 뜻에 복종시킨다면, 그는 이제 하나님의 뜻대로 원해야만 한다. 그러므로 그는 단지 진리를 영접할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 그 안에서 활동하는 의지가 진리를 깨닫는, 그러므로 진리를 구하는 사람을 오류로부터 보호하는 하나님의 영의 불씨의 인도로 진리가 아닌 모든 것을 거부하기 때문이다.

가장 확실한 보증은 항상 하나님이 기뻐하는 대로 행동하고 생각하려는 사람의 의지이다. 그러면 그는 결코 그 반대의 것을 좋아할 수 없게 된다. 그러므로 그는 문자 그대로 주님의 뜻의 인도를 받는다. 왜냐하면 주님은 사람의 자유의지만을 요구하기 때문이다. 의지가 주님에게 향하면, 잘못된 길을 갈 위험이 사라진다. 왜냐하면 그러면 사람 전체가 하나님의 힘에 사로 잡혀, 하나님의 능력이 그를 넘어지지 않고, 그를 끊임없이 위를 향해 끌어올리기 때문이다. 사람이 하나님께로 향하려는 의지에도 불구하고 종종 빠지는 소심함은 단지 너무 약한 믿음이다.

그러므로 강하고 깊은 믿음을 가진 사람은 하나님의 말씀의 진실성에 대해 전혀 의심하지 않을 것이다. 그러므로 그에게 깊은 내면의 평화가 주어질 것이다. 왜냐하면 그는 의심으로 자신을 괴롭힐 필요가 없기 때문이다. 그러나 사람의 생각이 악한 세력의 영향을 가능한 일로 여길 준비가 되어 있다면, 그는 또한 자신을 악한 세력에게 받치게 된다. 반면에 확고한 믿음은 이러한 모든 생각을 버린다. 이로써 악한 세력의 역사를 파괴한다. 그러므로 악한 세력의 모든 노력은 실패로 머물게 된다. 반면에 연약한 믿음은 악한 세력의 활동을 지원한다. 단지 중단하지 않고 저항할 힘을 구하는 기도로 이 위험에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있다. 그러므로 믿음이 흔들릴 위험이 있을 때 기도가 다시 유일하게 도움이 된다.

사람은 강한 믿음으로 승리한다. 그는 모든 유혹자를 물리치고, 적의 모든 공격에 저항한다. 확고한 믿음은 전사를 우월하게 만드는 무기이고, 동시에 진리를 향한 가장 짧은 길이다. 사람이 이처럼 흔들리지 않는 믿음으로 심장 안에 받아들이는 것은 불결한 영적 존재, 즉 거짓의 권세자에 의해 절대로 전달될 수 없다. 깊은 믿음으로 진리를 소망하는 일은 진리를 받는 일을 의미한다. 왜냐하면 하나님으로부터 온 능력 자체가 역사하고, 그러므로 단지 신적인 것을 사람에게 줄 수 있기 때문이다.

그럴지라도 무의식적으로 생각이 올바른 길에서 벗어나는 일이, 다시 말해 외부 세계의 유혹에 굴복하는 일이, 진리를 향한 욕구를 약하게 한다. 사람이 이제 무관심하게 진리의 근원에서 얻기를 원하면, 심장의 바닥에서 깊은 욕망은 나오지 않는다면, 거짓의 영은 인간의 의지를 보다 쉽게 점령하거나, 약화시키거나 완전히 그들의 권세에 아래 사로잡을 가능성이 있다.

Truth.... will.... weak faith....

He who seeks the truth remains in right knowledge. He emotionally rejects everything that contradicts the truth and can therefore believe everything his spirit willingly accepts. Anyone who desires the truth also willingly hands himself over to divine strength and is thereby already protected from accepting false teachings. If he submits his will to divine will he must now also want what is God's will.... He can therefore only accept what is true, because the active will in him rejects everything untrue, driven again by the divine spiritual spark which recognizes the truth and thus protects the truth-seeker from error. The human being's will to only act and think in a way that is pleasing to God always remains the surest guarantee; then he can never ever find.... literally guided by the lord's will. For the lord only demands the free will of man.... If this is turned towards Him, then there is also no danger of going astray, because then the whole human being is seized by divine power, which does not let him fall but constantly pulls him upwards. The timidity which often afflicts people despite their will to turn to God is only too weak faith.... Thus a person with strong, profound faith will have no doubts whatsoever about the truthfulness of the divine word, and therefore he will also be granted profound inner peace, for he need not trouble himself with doubts. But if the human being's mind is willing to consider the influence of evil forces possible then he also gives himself into their power, whereas a firm faith rejects all such thoughts and thus nullifies the effect of such power. And therefore all efforts of theirs remain unsuccessful, whereas a weak faith favours the working of these forces. Only unstoppable appealing for strength to resist effectively counters this danger, and thus prayer is again the only help when faith threatens to waver. In strong faith the human being is victorious.... He subdues all tempters and resists all onslaughts from the enemy’s side.... it is firm belief, a weapon that gives the fighter the upper hand and at the same time the shortest path to the truth. What the human being receives mentally in such unshakable faith can never ever be imparted by impure spiritual beings, thus by the prince of lies. To desire truth in deep faith means to receive it.... for the strength from God is at work Himself and can therefore only give divine things to the human being. However, unconscious straying of thoughts.... i.e. giving in to the temptations of the external world, weakens the desire for truth.... If the human being indifferently wants to draw from the source of truth, if the deep desire does not come from the bottom of his heart.... the spirits of lies have the possibility to take possession of the will of man more easily, to weaken it or even to get it completely into their power.
