깨어서 기도하라. 유혹들.

너희가 유혹에 빠지지 않도록 깨어서 기도하라. 너희는 이 말을 항상 생각해야 한다. 왜냐하면 너희는 항상 영적인 게으름으로 혼이 해를 입을 위험에 있기 때문이다. 항상 깨어 있는 일이 너희를 대적자의 갑작스러운 공격으로부터 보호한다. 너희가 기도한다면, 대적자는 항상 너희가 싸움을 위해 무장한 것으로 발견하고, 너희를 공격하는 일이 쉽지 않을 것이다.

왜냐하면 이 세상의 모든 악은 대적자로부터 오기 때문이다. 그는 사람의 심장 안에 악한 씨앗을 뿌리려고 하고, 사람의 심장 안에 모든 욕망을 넣어 준다. 사람이 주의를 기울이지 않고, 기도하는 일을 잊는다면, 대적자는 좋은 밭을 찾은 것이다. 다시 말해 사람이 그의 감각에 자극을 주는 것에만 단지 주의를 기울이게 될 것이다.

이로써 이런 사람은 항상 대적자의 시험에 패배한다. 왜냐하면 그에게 원수의 공격에 저항할 수 있는 능력이 없기 때문이다. 그러나 너희에게 아주 큰 도움이 제공되고, 너희는 단지 원하기만 하면 된다. 그러면 주님이 자신의 도움을 너희에게 보장한다. 깨어 기도하라. 너희가 너희 심장을 구세주에게 향하게 하고, 그에게 도움을 구한다면, 얼마나 너희가 모든 유혹에 저항할 수 있는 지를 선명한 영으로 깨달으라.

단지 세상적으로 너희에게 주어지는 도움 만을 의지하지 말라. 순수한 하나님의 가르침을 대신할 대체물을 세상에서 찾지 말라. 세상에서 이제 다시 기도하여, 주님이 너희와 너희의 이 땅의 역사를 축복하게 하라. 그러나 또한 영적인 관점에서 깨어 있는 일이 얼마나 가치가 있는지, 그러므로 영적인 재물을 증가시키기 위해 어떻게 매일을 활용해야 할지 생각하라.

바로 사람들의 무관심이 아주 거대한 비참함을 가져오게 했음을 생각하라. 대적자에게 진지한 저항을 하지 않는 곳에서는 대적자에게 쉬운 일이 된다. 그러므로 그가 가장 크게 추구하는 일은 사람들을 피곤한 상태에 빠지게 하는 일이다. 사람의 의지가 줄어든다면, 아주 빠르게 사람 안에 모든 신적인 것이 더 이상 주장할 수 없게 될 것이다. 결국에 가서 그는 하나님으로부터 전적으로 멀어지고, 영적인 지식은 계속 줄어들 것이다.

그러므로 항상 우리의 조언을 따르고, 너희가 항상 단지 긴밀한 기도를 통해 하늘의 아버지에게 자신을 의탁하면서, 그의 의지에 자원하여 기뻐하고, 순복하면서, 하늘의 아버지에게 가까이 다가갈 수 있는 최선의 수단을 손에 가지고 있는 너희가 너희 자신을 절대로 이러한 위험에 처하게 하지 말라. 그러면 너는 너희 주변에 잠복하고 있는 위험을 아주 빠르게 다스릴 수 있게 될 것이다.

너희는 또한 기도를 통해 하나님을 대적하는 세력에 대항하는 싸움에서 아주 강하게 될 것이다. 사람이 실제 모든 공격을 올바르게 공격으로 깨닫는다면, 그는 모든 공격을 피할 수 있다. 너희가 너희 주변에서 일어나는 모든 일에 깨어서 주의를 기울인다면, 그럴수록 너희는 더 빠르게 일어나는 일들을 피할 수 있게 될 것이고, 유혹이 너희에게 가까이 다가오지 못하게 될 것이다. 그러므로 깨어서 기도하라. 주님이 너희의 열심에 상급을 줄 것이고, 너희의 혼과 육체가 해를 입지 않게 할 것이다.

"Watch and pray...." temptations....

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.... You should always remember these words because you are in constant danger that your soul will be damaged through spiritual lukewarmness.... Always being alert protects you from sudden attacks by the adversary, he will always find you prepared for battle if you pray, and it will not be easy for him to attack you. For all evil in the world comes from him.... He seeks to sow the evil seeds into the hearts of men, he puts all desire into them, and where man is not careful and forgets to pray, there the adversary will find good ground, i.e. attention will only be paid too readily to what stimulates human senses.... and so such people will always succumb to the temptations because they lack the strength to defend themselves against the attacks of the enemy. And yet such great assistance is available to you, you may only want it and the lord assures you of His help.... Watch and pray.... Recognize with a clear spirit how you can escape all temptations if you turn your heart towards the divine saviour and call upon Him for help. Just don't rely on the earthly help offered to you, don't try to find a substitute for the pure divine teaching there. And pray there again so that the lord will bless you and your work on earth, but also consider how valuable it is to be spiritually awake and how every day should therefore be used to increase spiritual wealth.... consider that precisely people's indifference has brought about such immense misery.... and the adversary has an easy game if he is not seriously resisted. And therefore his greatest endeavour is to put people in a state of fatigue.... if the human being’s will now gives way, then very soon everything divine in the human being will no longer be able to assert himself, and the end will be his complete apostasy from God and a constant decline in spiritual knowledge. And thus always follow our advice not to put yourself in such danger under any circumstances, whereas you have the best means in your hand to come closer to the father in heaven by only ever again commending yourself to the father in heaven in heartfelt prayer and gladly and joyfully submitting to His will. Then you will very soon master the danger that lies in wait for you and through prayer you will also be fully strengthened in the fight against the power that is hostile to God. A person can very well avoid all hostilities if only he recognizes them as such.... The more alert you are to all events around you, the sooner you will be able to avoid them and the temptations will not approach you like this.... Therefore watch and pray.... And the lord will reward your zeal and not let you be harmed in body and soul....
