모든 시작은 어렵다.... 의지력.... 싸움에서 기도.... 하나님의 말씀에 관한 논쟁....

모든 시작은 어렵다. 이제 너의 일을 시작하라. 모든 위대한 작업은 먼저 이 작업을 수행하려는 의지를 성숙시키는 투쟁이 선행되야 만한다. 그러면 사람의 끈기를 통해 비로소 그의 의지가 얼마나 강한지 나타날 것이다. 일을 시작할 때 이미 더 강한 의지력이 필요하다면, 일이 더 진행이 될수록 이 인내가 커져야만 하게 될 것이다. 자주 의지가 마비될 위험이 있고, 실패로 인해 낙담하거나 또는 모든 시작한 일에 대한 특정한 무관심으로 인해 의지가 약화되어 작업이 중단되고 완성시키지 못할 위험이 있다.

네가 계속하여 도움을 요청하기를 원하지 않는다면, 너는 그런 위험에 처하게 될지도 모른다. 이 역사는 중단되지 않아야 하고, 위로부터 온 영적 존재들이 역사하는 지원을 받으며 모든 사랑으로 계속되어야 한다. 그러므로 네가 네 구세주 주님에게 자신을 자원하여 제공한다면, 너에게 또한 계속하여 힘이 전달이 될 것이다. 주님은 자신의 현명한 계획을 가지고 있고, 어떤 일도 강요하에 이뤄져서는 안된다. 그러므로 항상 또 다시 사람 자신이 그의 의지를 약화시킬 수 있는 모든 유혹에 대항하여 투쟁하고 견뎌야만 한다.

앞으로 네가 너의 심장 안에서 말하는 말씀을 들을 것이고, 너에게 언제든지 말씀의 원천이 열리게 될 것이고, 너는 원천에서 기를 수 있게 될 것이다. 말씀이 너를 쾌활하게 할것이고 너의 심장과 너의 의지는 강하게 될 것이고, 쉬지 않고 단지 주님을 섬길 준비가 되어있게 될 것이다. 너는 사람의 내부를 뚫고 들어가 그의 영의 성숙함을 깨달을 수 있게 될 것이다. 사람의 눈에서 겸손과 겸양을 깨달을 것이고, 사실과 거짓을 아주 잘 구별할 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 더 강력한 열심으로 너의 과제를 위해 헌신하는 일은 너에게 달려있다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 말씀을 위해 싸우게 되는 때가 가까워지고 있기 때문이다.

사람들은 전쟁의 위험 가운데 실제 기도할 줄을 안다. 그러나 혼에게 더 끔찍한 결과를 초래할 수 있기 때문에 천 배나 더 중요한 하나님의 말씀을 둘러싼 논쟁에는 사람들이 여유를 부린다. 이런 논쟁이 그들에게 아주 적게 영향을 미친다. 그러나 이런 논쟁이 한편으로는 놀라게 만들고, 다른 한편으로는 그들이 전적으로 참여할 준비를 하게 만들어야만 한다. 이 싸움에 훨씬 더 많은 관심을 기울여야만 한다. 왜냐하면 혼이 이로써 줄이거나 잃을 수 있는 것은 말할 수 없게 중요한 것이고, 손실은 무한히 고통스럽고, 이익은 말로 표현할 수 없을 축복이 되기 때문이다. 그러므로 사람이 싸움에서 위험에 빠지지 않도록 사람의 기도가 하나님 말씀의 승리를 위한 투쟁과 논란에 훨씬 더 초점을 맞추어야 한다.

All beginnings are difficult.... willpower.... prayer during war.... controversy over God's word....

All beginnings are difficult.... this is how your work began. Every great work must be preceded by a struggle that first matures the will to tackle this work. And only then will a person's perseverance show how strong his will is. If increased willpower is already present at the beginning of a work, it will have to increase the further a work has progressed. There is often a danger that the will will slacken, that the person will become discouraged by failures or that a certain indifference will set in with every work begun, which then results in a weakening of the will, and then the work is easily in danger of being broken off and remaining unfinished. You would also be in such danger if you did not continue to ask for help. This work should not suffer any interruption, it should be continued with all love with the support of the active spiritual beings from above, and so the strength will also continue to be transmitted to you if only you willingly place yourself at the lord and saviour's disposal. The lord has His wise plans, and nothing is to be carried out under compulsion, and therefore time and again the human being himself must struggle and withstand every temptation which could weaken his will. Then you will hear the word spoken in your heart, and the fountain from which you may draw will be opened to you at all times, and your heart will be refreshed, and your will will be strengthened and constantly ready to serve only the lord. You will be able to penetrate the inner being of man and recognize the maturity of his spirit. Humility and modesty will be recognizable to you in the eyes of man, and you will be able to distinguish the genuine from the false. But then it is also up to you to devote yourself to your task with increased fervour, for the time is drawing ever closer when the battle for the word of God will begin. People know how to pray when they are in danger of war, but they are relaxed about the battle for the word of God, which is a thousand times more important because it can have even more dreadful consequences for the soul. This battle affects them so little and yet should arouse all their horror on the one hand and their full willingness on the other, and far more attention should be paid to this battle. For what the soul can reduce or lose through it is so immensely important.... the loss is infinitely painful and the gain just as unspeakably blissful. Therefore, man's prayer should be far more focussed on the battle and struggle for the victory of the word of God, so that man may emerge from it safe and sound....
