Il valore del sapere di fronte allo stato dell’ignoranza

Un continuo cambiamento della forma esteriore fa in modo che lo spirituale che vi si cela giunga alla maturità, quindi procede costantemente nello sviluppo. E così è motivato ogni divenire e scomparire di tutte le Opere di Creazione. Quindi la causa è il processo dello sviluppo verso l’Alto, come anche lo scopo della Creazione. Attraverso la Grazia dell’illuminazione interiore l’uomo ha il sapere ed ora considera la Creazione come mezzo al perfezionamento dello spirituale. Ma il senso e lo scopo della Creazione è incomprensibile per gli uomini, ai quali manca questo sapere, perché nella Creazione esistono innumerevoli cose che sembrano senza senso e scopo, perché non eseguono nessuna attività che mostri qualche scopo o non fanno riconoscere una qualche utilità. Questa mancanza di sapere ha ora per conseguenza che l’eterna Divinità nella Sua Grandezza, nel Suo Amore, Sapienza ed Onnipotenza non viene giustamente riconosciuta, ha per conseguenza che l’uomo non sente nemmeno l’amore per Lei che deve far scaturire la riconoscenza della Sua Perfezione. Inoltre ha per conseguenza che il desiderio per Dio non può essere così profondo, perché solo l’amore per Dio spinge l’uomo a tendere verso di Lui, di adeguarsi a Lui. Nell’uomo non verrà mai attizzato un tale amore, se gli rimane nascosto qualsiasi Operare ed Agire di Dio, che è quindi totalmente ignaro sul senso e sullo scopo della Creazione, sul collegamento delle singole Opere di Creazione con Dio. Lo stato sapiente è indubbiamente molto più prezioso per gli uomini che vivere alla giornata nell’ignoranza. Lo stato sapiente è un segno dello sviluppo verso l’Alto, è un progresso spirituale, uno stato della Luce che è comprensibilmente da preferire allo stato dell’ignoranza, dell’oscurità. La conoscenza del senso e dello scopo della Creazione deve necessariamente contribuire al grado di maturità che è scopo e meta della vita terrena. Ora la Creazione stessa aiuta l’uomo alla giusta conoscenza, appena costui la osserva e manda fuori nel Cosmo dei pensieri interrogativi e si apre alla risposta mentale che ora gli affluisce. Perché è la Volontà di Dio che l’uomo diventi sapiente, che dia uno sguardo nel Suo Operare ed Agire, appena questo è ammesso sulla Terra. Ma gli uomini stessi determinano i limiti del loro sapere attraverso la loro volontà, appena questa si rifiuta di accettare un sapere offertole senza esaminarlo seriamente, fin dove lo possa accettare convinta nel suo patrimonio mentale. La volontà dell’uomo è libera, di conseguenza gli dev’essere offerto il sapere in modo che non venga costretta all’accettazione, cosa che però sarebbe il caso se un tale sapere potesse essere dimostrato oppure l’uomo venisse convinto attraverso un Miracolo della Verità di ciò che gli viene offerto come tale. L’uomo deve piuttosto prendere posizione in tutta la libertà di fede e volontà verso questo e decidersi non influenzato per o contro. E deve anche sottoporre ancora una volta ad un esame il sapere che dapprima ha accolto fin dove questo possa sussistere nei confronti di ciò che gli è stato offerto come nuovo. Solo l’uomo che desidera seriamente la Verità riconoscerà questa anche come tale e la Verità sarà soltanto là dove viene seriamente desiderata.

Value of knowledge over the state of ignorance....

A continual change of the outer form brings about that the spiritual within comes to maturity, i.e. constantly develops further. And this is the reason for the constant becoming and passing away of all works of creation. The process of higher development is therefore the cause, as well as the purpose of creation. Through the grace of inner enlightenment, the human being is aware of this and now regards creation as a means to the perfection of the spiritual.... However, the meaning and purpose of creation is incomprehensible to people who lack knowledge of it, for countless things exist in creation which appear without meaning and purpose because they do not carry out any apparent purposeful activity or reveal any benefit. The consequence of this lack of knowledge is that the eternal deity is not properly recognized in Its greatness, in Its love, wisdom and omnipotence.... it has the consequence that man cannot feel the love for It which the recognition of Its perfection must trigger. It also means that the desire for God cannot be so deep because only love for God drives people to strive towards Him, to conform to Him. Such love will never be kindled in a person if all of God's reign and activity remains hidden from him, thus he is completely ignorant of the meaning and purpose of creation, of the connection between the individual works of creation and God. The knowing state is indisputably more valuable for man than living in ignorance. The knowing state is a sign of upward development, it is spiritual progress, a state of light, which is understandably preferable to the state of ignorance, of darkness. To know the meaning and purpose of creation must contribute to the necessary degree of maturity, which is the purpose and goal of life on earth. creation itself now helps man to the right knowledge as soon as he pays attention to it and sends questioning thoughts out into the universe and opens himself to the mental answer now flowing towards him.... For it is God's will that man should become knowledgeable, that he should gain insight into His reign and activity insofar as this is permissible on earth. But people themselves determine the limits of their knowledge through their will as soon as the latter refuses to accept knowledge offered to him without seriously examining the extent to which he can convincingly accept it into his thoughts. The human being's will is free, consequently knowledge has to be offered to him such that he is not forced to accept it, but this would be the case if such knowledge could be proven or the human being would be convinced by a miracle of the truth of what is offered to him as truth. Rather, the human being must mentally take a stand on it in all freedom of faith and will and decide for or against it without being influenced. And he must also re-examine the knowledge he has previously received to see how far it can stand up to what is newly offered. Only the person who seriously desires the truth will also recognize the truth as such, and the truth will only be where it is seriously desired.
