La voglia carnale – Brame terrene - L’attività d’amore

Nella voglia carnale voi uomini vedete l’adempimento delle vostre brame corporee, e perciò vi date al godimento terreno. Ma quello che aiuta al piacere del corpo, è di poca benedizione per l’anima, perché questa può procedere nello sviluppo soltanto quando non cede al desiderio corporeo, quando presta rinuncia volontaria a tutto ciò che il corpo pretende per il suo soddisfacimento. L’uomo deve esercitarsi nell’amore e perciò deve sempre aiutare il suo prossimo in tutte le miserie del corpo e dell’anima. Il vero amore vorrà sempre dare e perciò deve anche essere poi pronto all’agire d’amore, quando il prossimo si trova nella ristrettezza. Questa predisposizione è anche determinante per la maturazione dell’anima. In certo qual modo viene valutato da Dio il grado d’amore, quando due persone si uniscono puramente nel corpo. L’uomo può in ogni situazione influire sul prossimo in modo educativo e nobilitante e la volontà per questo è determinante, se una unione corporea è di benedizione oppure non può resistere davanti a Dio. L’Amore divino, la Misericordia e la Pazienza, esercitano la massima indulgenza con gli uomini ed in particolare con coloro che presentano a Dio le loro debolezze e Lo pregano per avere la Forza. Perché fintanto che l’uomo appartiene alla Terra, anche il suo desiderio terreno è maggiore e più difficile da vincere. Ma più l’uomo lotta per sopprimere i desideri terreni, più sensibilmente gli giunge la Forza, di prestare resistenza alla brama terrena, senza infrangere il Comandamento dell’amore verso il suo prossimo, perché l’amore è la prima condizione. L’amore amorevole terrà d’occhio sempre soltanto il bene dell’altro e perciò farà tutto ciò che viene preteso da lui, perché l’amore è sempre il donante e l’uomo amorevole non pensa mai a sé stesso. L’amore donante sarà sempre compiacente dinanzi a Dio e perciò è determinante il grado della disponibilità di dare per lo sviluppo dell’anima verso l’Alto.

Carnal desires.... earthly desires.... love activity....

In carnal pleasure you humans see the fulfilment of your physical desires, and thus you indulge in earthly pleasure. But what helps the body to feel good is of little benefit to the soul, for the soul can only develop progressively if it does not give in to physical desire, that is, if it voluntarily renounces everything the body demands for its fulfilment.... Man should practice love.... and he must therefore always help his fellow human being in every need of body and soul. True love will always want to give and must therefore also be prepared to act in love when a fellow human being is in need. This attitude is also decisive for the maturing of the soul. To a certain extent, the degree of love is assessed by God when two people connect purely physically. A person can have an educating and ennobling effect on his fellow human being in every situation, and the will to do so is decisive as to whether a physical union is a blessing or cannot exist before God.... Divine love, mercy and patience exercises the greatest forbearance with people, and especially with those who present their weakness to God and appeal to Him for strength.... For as long as the human being belongs to earth, his earthly desires are also greater and therefore more difficult to overcome. Yet the more the human being struggles to suppress earthly desires, the more noticeably he gains the strength to resist earthly desires without violating the commandment to love his neighbour.... For love is the first condition.... The loving person will always keep only the good of the other person in mind and will therefore do everything that is asked of him, because love is always the giver and the loving person never thinks of himself. Giving love will always be pleasing to God and therefore the degree of willingness to give is decisive for the soul's higher development....
