L’uomo stesso si mette i limiti del sapere, non Dio

Dio ha posto un limite al sapere solo per quell’uomo che se ne accontenta. Sembra bensì come se non possa mai oltrepassare questo limite, ma se intende seriamente sapere di più, per lui non deve necessariamente esistere nessun limite. Ma fin dove desidera sapere di più gli è lasciato libero, cioè lui stesso decide i limiti del sapere attraverso la sua volontà. Quando l’uomo adempie le precondizioni che gli garantiscono la trasmissione del sapere, ha usato in modo giusto la sua libera volontà, perché ora gli viene data la Sapienza più profonda senza limitazione. Ma se è incline a credere che Dio Stesso gli abbia posto dei limiti, allora si accontenta con ciò che il mondo sà e non sente in sé nessuna spinta di oltrepassare arbitrariamente i limiti. Si accontenta e questo è tuttavia una retrocessione, perché solo nel tendere l’uomo progredisce. Ma gli dev’essere comunque comprensibile che Dio come la Verità Stessa vorrebbe guidare anche le Sue creature nella stessa e che perciò E’ sempre disposto ad elargire la Verità, ma che non la può elargire ad ognuno che non ne ha nessun desiderio. E’ un Bene prezioso che gli uomini si devono appropriare se soltanto vogliono, ma che deve anche essere desiderato, se dev’essere offerta agli uomini. Ma che non giunge indiscriminatamente non autorizza alla supposizione che Dio preservi a tutti gli uomini il sapere sul Suo Agire ed Operare, che vuole lasciare le Sue creature nell’ignoranza. Egli dà loro continuamente il chiarimento mentale e dipende unicamente dalla volontà dell’uomo se e fin dove si vuole lasciar istruire dagli esseri che gli possono dare il chiarimento. Ma proprio questa volontà dell’uomo è troppo scarsa e debole. L’uomo deve dapprima adempiere le Condizioni per poter essere guidato nel Regno spirituale, deve dapprima diventare attiva la sua volontà per un lavoro fervente su sé stesso. E questo sembra ineseguibile alla maggioranza degli uomini e quindi non ci provano nemmeno. E questi sono i limiti che l’uomo pone a sé stesso, perché non ha la volontà di oltrepassare questi limiti. E lui stesso non sà che cosa perde; non sà in quale Beatitudine può portare sé stesso attraverso un sapere accresciuto, attraverso il sapere di cose che altrimenti gli rimanevano nascoste; non sa quale ricchezza spirituale potrebbe appropriarsi se ne avesse il desiderio. Ma l’infinito Amore di Dio conduce comunque il Suo Sapere agli uomini, perché vorrebbe diffondere la Verità fra l’umanità. Attraverso la bocca d’uomo dà loro il chiarimento come l’uomo può giungere ad un aumentato sapere per stimolarli di nuovo a fare loro stessi il tentativo, perché vorrebbe loro trasmettere il Bene più prezioso per la salvezza delle loro anime. Quindi Egli dà loro conoscenza che l’uomo non si deve accontentare con il sapere che è diffuso nel mondo. Ed Egli ammonisce tutti a far breccia nelle barriere, perché lo possono fare se soltanto vogliono. Egli vorrebbe trasmettere loro un sapere insospettato e per questo ha solo bisogno della loro volontà che si deve dimostrare, mentre l’uomo adempie le precondizioni che sono necessarie, per poter essere guidato nel sapere profondo su Dio e la Sua Potenza e Magnificenza.

The limits of knowledge are set by man, not God....

God has set a limit to knowledge only for the person who is content with it. It may seem as if he can never exceed this limit, but if he is serious about knowing more, there need be no limit for him. However, the extent to which he desires more knowledge is up to him, i.e. he himself determines the limits of knowledge through his will. As soon as the human being fulfils the preconditions which guarantee him the transmission of knowledge, he has used his free will in the right way, for he is now given profound wisdom without restriction. But if he is inclined to believe that God Himself has set limits, then he is content with what the world knows and he feels no urge within himself to exceed the limits on his own authority. He is content, and this is always a step backwards, for man only progresses in constant endeavour. It must be understandable to him that God, as the Truth Himself, also wants to guide His living creations into it and that He is therefore always willing to hand out the truth but that He cannot impart it to everyone who has no desire for it. It is a precious commodity which people can acquire if only they want to, but which must also be desired if it is to be offered to people. However, the fact that it is not given to all people indiscriminately does not justify the assumption that God withholds the knowledge of His reign and activity from all people, that He wants to leave His living creations in ignorance. He will always mentally inform them, and it is solely up to the human being's will as to whether and to what extent he wants to be instructed by the beings who can provide him with information. Yet precisely this human will is very small and weak. Since the human being first has to fulfil conditions in order to be introduced into the spiritual kingdom, his will first has to become active to work diligently on himself. And this seems impracticable to most people and so they don't even try.... And these are the limits which the human being sets for himself because he does not have the will to go beyond these limits. And they don't realize what they are ruining for themselves.... he does not know what bliss he can bring himself through increased knowledge, through the knowledge of things that would otherwise remain hidden from him.... he does not know what spiritual riches he could acquire if he so desired. God's boundless love, however, still provides people with His knowledge because He wants to spread the truth among humanity.... He gives them enlightenment through the mouth of man as to how man can attain increased knowledge in order to stimulate them again to make the attempt themselves because He wants to impart to them the most precious good for the salvation of their souls. Thus He informs them that the human being should not be satisfied with the knowledge spread throughout the world.... And He admonishes them to break through the barriers because they can do so if only they want to. He wants to impart undreamt-of knowledge to them and only needs their will to do so, which should prove itself by the human being fulfilling the preconditions which are necessary in order to be guided into the deepened knowledge about God and His power and glory....
