Employer le Don de l'entendement

Le Don de l'entendement doit être employé de toute façon. L'homme doit l’employer d’une manière terrestre pour vivre dans l’Ordre juste et pour la Bénédiction du prochain et pour s'acquitter de sa tâche terrestre, de même que l'entendement doit aussi être employé pour affronter la tâche spirituelle. Parce que l'homme porte la responsabilité pour son âme et pour en pouvoir répondre il doit être en mesure de tenir séparé le bien et le mal et donc il doit aussi soupeser et considérer intellectuellement tout ce qui se passe autour de lui pour prendre position dans le cœur. Il doit savoir ce que Dieu exige de lui pendant la durée de sa vie terrestre ; ce savoir doit lui être indiqué et il doit aussi l'élaborer intellectuellement, avant qu'il puisse s’ajuster. Pour cette raison Dieu a donné l'entendement à l'homme et seulement l'utilisation de son entendement peut porter son âme au mûrissement. Et ainsi l'homme est aussi obligé de réfléchir sur le patrimoine spirituel qui lui est transmis. Le savoir spirituel qui lui est subordonné et qu'il accepte sans l'examiner ne représente encore aucun savoir. Car il exécute seulement mécaniquement ce qui peut promouvoir son développement vers le Haut s'il exécute les devoirs que ce savoir exige de lui. Il doit exercer absolument son activité d’entendement avant que pour lui cela soit un vrai savoir qui lui procure un avantage pour son âme. Et l'activité de l’entendement doit être utilisée de la manière juste, il doit avoir demandé Conseil à Dieu, il doit Lui avoir demandé l'Assistance, l'éclairage de l'esprit, la pensée juste, c'est-à-dire véridique. Parce que l'activité de l’entendement dans ses résultats peut aussi mener à l'erreur, dès que l'homme se considère capable de sonder tout par son entendement. La volonté de l'homme est libre et cette liberté doit aussi être illimitée, pour que l'homme puisse penser d’une manière juste et fausse, c'est-à-dire que la juste pensée dépend aussi de sa volonté. Et vu que tout est arrangé pour correspondre seulement à la Loi divine, lorsqu’il est dans la même Volonté que Dieu, cette volonté doit d'abord être tournée vers Dieu, pour qu’aussi ses pensées soit ordonnées. Donc Dieu ne peut jamais Être exclu, tout comme son activité d'entendement ne doit jamais être exclue pour arriver à la possession de la Vérité. Le patrimoine spirituel transmis sera donc de valeur pour l'homme seulement lorsque lui-même a pris position et cela après une sérieuse réflexion avec l'Aide de Dieu. Cela est la juste utilisation du Don de l'entendement qui ne doit jamais être exclu, parce que l'homme doit répondre aussi pour ses pensées et parce que la juste foi convaincue peut être conquise seulement à travers une élaboration intellectuelle. Celui qui accepte sans réfléchir ce qui lui est offert comme patrimoine spirituel, ne pourra pas appeler sienne une foi vivante, mais seulement une foi formelle qui ne résiste à aucune secousse, parce que l'homme ne peut pas soutenir ce qu'il possède comme patrimoine spirituel, si son entendement n'est pas devenu en même temps actif et a élaboré ce patrimoine spirituel. Il sera toujours certain de l'Assistance de Dieu s'il la Lui demande, parce que Dieu est toujours disposé à agir sur l'homme par Son esprit, d’arranger ses pensées et de les guider de la manière juste, mais Il veut que Son Aide soit demandée parce que cela indique une volonté tournée vers Lui et qu’en toute liberté l’homme veut tendre à la perfection pour devenir bienheureux.

Using the gift of the mind....

The gift of understanding should be used in every way. The human being should use it earthly in order to live in the right order and for the blessing of his fellow human beings and to fulfil his earthly task, just as the intellect should be used in order to fulfil the spiritual task. For the human being bears responsibility for his soul, and in order to be able to answer for himself he must be able to distinguish between good and evil and therefore also intellectually weigh up and consider everything that happens around him in order to take a stand in his heart. He must know what God requires of him during his earthly life; this knowledge must be presented to him and he must intellectually process it himself before he can adjust himself to it. That is why God gave the human being intellect, and only the use of intellect can bring his soul to maturity. And thus the human being is also obliged to think about spiritual knowledge which is imparted to him. Spiritual knowledge which is presented to him and which he accepts without examination is not yet knowledge for him. He then only mechanically carries out something which can never promote his ascent development if he complies with the duties which that spiritual knowledge demands of him. His own thought activity must necessarily have begun before it is real knowledge for him, which brings him advantage for his soul. And intellectual activity must be used in the right way, i.e. God must be consulted, He must be asked for help, for enlightenment of the spirit, for right, i.e. true thinking. For intellectual activity can also go astray in its results as soon as the human being considers himself capable of fathoming everything through his intellect. The human being's will is free and the freedom of will must also be unrestricted, so that the human being can think right and wrong, i.e. that right thinking is also dependent on his will. And since everything is only then ordered and corresponds to divine law if it is in the same will as God, this will must absolutely first be turned towards God so that thinking is also ordered. Thus God can never be excluded, just as one's own intellectual activity may not be excluded in order to gain possession of the truth. Consequently, imparted spiritual knowledge will only be of value to the human being when he has taken a stand on it himself, and that after serious reflection with the help of God. This is the right use of the gift of understanding, which must never be disregarded, because the human being must also be responsible for his thinking and because right, convinced faith can only be gained through intellectual processing. Anyone who thoughtlessly accepts what spiritual knowledge is offered to him will not call a living faith his own but only a formal faith which cannot withstand any shaking, because the human being cannot represent what spiritual knowledge he possesses if his intellect has not become active at the same time and has not processed this spiritual knowledge. He will always be assured of God's support if only he asks Him for it, for God is always willing to influence the human being through His spirit, to order and guide his thinking in the right way, yet He wants to be approached for His assistance because this demonstrates the will turned towards Him, which should strive for perfection in all freedom in order to become blissfully happy....
