La resistencia hace ineficaz la Palabra de Dios....

La fuerza de Dios sólo puede obrar allí donde no se opone resistencia a ella, y por eso la Palabra de Dios puede desaparecer de forma completamente ineficaz en el oído humano si cierra su corazón y no quiere aceptarla como Palabra de Dios. Porque la fuerza de Dios es algo que tiene que ser deseado ardiente e íntimamente; no fluye hacia el humano en contra de su voluntad. Y por eso la Palabra no cobra vida, sino que permanece sólo como palabra muerta que ni obra bendiciendo ni aumentando el conocimiento. No se reconoce como verdad ni como misión divina, no inspira fe ni esfuerzo espiritual, pero el motivo del rechazo nunca puede encontrarse en la Palabra misma, sino sólo en la voluntad del ser humano, que todavía está llena de resistencia contra Dios, aunque no lo admita.

Se mantiene a la defensa sin poder justificarlo realmente, porque acepta sin resistencia las transmisiones mentales que le son transmitidas por el poder contrario de Dios. Y esta es la causa de todo rechazo flagrante, porque el oponente de Dios obra con todo su celo para suprimir la verdad pura y alejar a los humanos de ella. Y lo consiguió cuando el humano ya no es capaz de reconocer el don divino, que todo el mundo puede reconocer si sólo quiere y anhela la verdad.

La Palabra de Dios es ofrecida de tal manera que se puede reconocer claramente su origen, porque la Palabra habla por sí misma, pero sólo para aquellos que están íntimamente conectados con Dios y desean recibir la verdad de Él. Sin embargo, si la palabra se recibe de mala gana, se la opone defensa, entonces se elimina el deseo por la verdad, y entonces no será entendida ni tendrá un efecto beneficioso en el humano, no será seguida y por lo tanto no traerá la bendición que la Palabra vivida aporta inevitablemente al ser humano.... no puede iluminar el espíritu y dar al ser humano la bienaventuranza del conocimiento. Y entonces la Palabra es ineficaz, su fuerza no se siente porque el ser humano se cierra a ella.

Es la gracia más grande cuando Dios viene a los humanos en la Palabra, es una medida de gracia que se pone a su disposición sin ningún mérito por parte del humano, pero es completamente libre para él si aprovecha este don de gracia, si deja hablar la Palabra hacia sí mismo, si la reconoce como don divino, si deja que la gracia entonces se haga eficaz en él mismo, porque esto depende únicamente de su voluntad. Si la voluntad se resiste, entonces el humano no tiene ningún éxito para su alma, entonces esto no contribuye particularmente a su desarrollo superior, a menos que practique el amor y, por lo tanto, abandone inconscientemente su resistencia a Dios....

Pero entonces él también reconocerá Su Palabra, ya no se opondrá a ella, aunque todavía duda en dejar que ella surja efecto sobre él. Sin embargo, le tocará cada vez más y poco a poco se convencerá de la verdad de lo que le presenta la Palabra de Dios.... Entonces su resistencia se ha roto y la Palabra de Dios podrá obrar en él....

Resistance makes the word of God ineffective....

The strength from God can only work where it is not opposed, and therefore the word of God can sound completely ineffective at the human being's ear as soon as he closes his heart, thus he does not want to receive it as God’s word. For the strength from God is something which has to be ardently desired; it does not flow to the human being against his will. And that is why the word does not come alive but only remains a dead word which neither blesses nor increases knowledge. It is neither recognized as truth nor as a divine mission, it will neither inspire faith nor spiritual striving, but then the reason for rejection is never to be sought in the word itself but only in the human being's will, which is still full of resistance against God, even though he does not admit this. He persists in defence without being able to justify it properly, for he accepts without resistance the mental transmissions which are imparted to him by God's opposing power. And this is the cause of every blatant rejection, for God's adversary works with all zeal to suppress the pure truth and to dissuade people from it. And he has succeeded so that the human being is no longer able to recognize the divine gift, which everyone can recognize if only he is willing and desirous of the truth. The word of God is offered such that its origin can very well be recognized, for the word speaks for itself, yet only for the one who intimately unites with God and desires to receive the truth from Him. If, however, the word is received unwillingly, if it is opposed, then the desire for truth is excluded, and then it will neither be understood nor have a beneficial effect on the human being, it will not be followed and thus will not result in the blessing which the lived word inevitably brings to the human being.... it cannot enlighten the spirit and give the human being the bliss of knowledge. And thus the word is then ineffective, its strength is not felt because the human being closes himself off to it. It is the greatest grace when God comes to people in the word, it is a measure of grace which is placed at his disposal without the human being's merit, yet it is entirely up to him whether he uses this gift of grace, whether he allows the word to speak to him, whether he acknowledges it as a divine gift, whether he thus allows the grace to take effect in him, for this depends on his will alone. If the will resists, then the human being will have no success whatsoever for his soul, then it will not contribute particularly to his higher development unless he practices love and thus unconsciously relinquishes his resistance to God.... But then he will also recognize His word, he will no longer reject it, even though he still hesitantly lets it affect him. However, it will touch him more and more and he will slowly become convinced of the truth of what is presented to him through the word of God.... Then his resistance will be broken and the word of God can take effect on him....
