5471 Shortening of the days.... No shortage for people....

August 25, 1952: Book 60

People's spiritual development is only progressing minimally, a frightening state has occurred, only a few people are increasing their degree of maturity but the entirety remains on the same level with visible deviations downwards. And if in the eternal salvation plan the end of this earth would not have been foreseen, even the people with a higher degree of maturity would be thrown back into the abyss again. But God has shortened the days for the sake of the elect.... The complete degeneration and apostasy from God can no longer be stopped, therefore a shortening of the days is no longer a shortcoming for the fallen humanity, yet it is still a salvation for those who are only able to hold their own with difficulty, who have to struggle terribly in order to resist the onslaught from below. Humanity is heading towards the end because it is accelerating it itself, because the days are being shortened for the sake of the believers' salvation; it is just accelerating the end because it is clearly recognizable that there is no longer any salvation for people and therefore the days are not being shortened for them so that they could still become blessed.... They have finally decided in favor of God's adversary, and that’s why His children only, shall still be helped so that they will be able to withstand the last tribulation on this earth. And so salvation will come suddenly and unexpectedly for these children of God.... before they falter, for satan will not stop until he is bound.... All possibilities will be exhausted beforehand to still promote the spiritual development of people.... but to no avail, as God knows from eternity.... People will not be accessible to any admonition and warning, they only know one aim, to live on earth in joy and enjoyment.... and everything that could hinder them from doing so they reject and are hostile towards it. They mock God and even more so His servants. The time has come of which it is written, "It will be as in the days of Noah, they ate and drank and courted and let themselves be married.... until the day of judgment.” People truly lose nothing anymore when the earth is destroyed, for what they possess is worthless this way, and what is of value they no longer strive for, but the sooner the life of these people is ended, the sooner they start on the path that will one day lead upwards again.... It is no longer an extended time, for for the sake of the elect the days will be shortened.... Remember this when you, who want to remain faithful to God, find your living conditions unbearable, keep in mind that you will receive strength to persevere until the end and that this end will not tarry, for the promise that God will shorten the days for the sake of the elect will be fulfilled in order to help them attain eternal bliss....
