What is meant by "faith"....

You humans are required to believe in something for which you lack evidence.... It is demanded of you that you should accept as truth what is communicated to you.... It is demanded of you that you also confess it yourselves. This is faith.... You therefore have to rely on the knowledge of the one who tries to impart his knowledge to you, and depending on his credibility you accept the knowledge. Earthly knowledge can now indeed be substantiated by evidence, and yet it is possible that such evidence is not accessible to you humans.... but you will nevertheless be convinced of the truth if you have complete faith in the one who imparts the knowledge to you. Such faith is nothing strange; it is simply a trust that the fellow human being is correctly informed and that what he imparts can be accepted without hesitation. But it is different with spiritual knowledge, for which proofs are not to be brought. Then it is up to you yourselves whether you trust the mediator of spiritual knowledge so much that you accept without hesitation that you therefore believe what he tells you. And you know that every person can err, that only on the part of God all error is excluded. How then should you procure for yourselves the inner conviction of the truth of what you are to believe? Because only a convinced faith is of value. Proofs cannot be produced, and the man who imparts knowledge to you can just as well impart an erroneous spiritual material to you, which you certainly do not contradict and therefore pretend a 'faith' outwardly, but which cannot be called faith as long as man lacks the inner conviction. And man can again only get this inner conviction from God Himself, from Him, Who knows about everything and Who also wants to give His creatures a light, so that they find their way out of darkness of spirit. Therefore man must turn to God in thoughts or in prayer, who wants to win a convinced faith. But man again only goes to God who inwardly confesses Him, who feels connected to him and who is therefore inwardly connected to Him because he lives in love. No man will have a living faith, which is without love.... Because the intellect will not be able to give him conviction, because spiritual areas, spiritual knowledge, cannot be fathomed with the intellect. Man will never reach spiritual knowledge intellectually. The intellect can well think through the knowledge received through the heart and take a stand on it, and as soon as love fills a man, the intellect will also not resist it. Then it will accept spiritual knowledge undoubtedly, also when it is offered to it on the part of a fellowman, because love in man gives it the light of recognition. One thing let it be said to you that there is no living faith without love, that intellect cannot replace love when it is about pure spiritual knowledge.... that on the other hand earthly knowledge, for which the proofs are only inaccessible to man, can be accepted believingly by intellect, as soon as the teacher seems to be credible to him. But there is no evidence for spiritual knowledge, and yet faith in it can become conviction in the human being, yet only ever when the human being, through a life of love, attains knowledge which is conveyed to him by God Himself through the spirit.... Then this 'working of the spirit in man' is proof enough, and then it can certainly also be spoken of a 'faith', and still it is no dead faith, but it has become alive through love, and convinced the man now represents that, what cannot be substantiated through proof. But when (now a) man has fullest trust and confidence in him who teaches him, also about spiritual knowledge, then he will also be able to believe; he will accept unchecked when he himself leads a love life, and he will build up on the spiritual knowledge imparted to him, i.e. always base his walk of life on the knowledge and make the will of God his own, which he gets to know through spiritual knowledge. And if he lives according to God's will then it will also become light in him, and he will learn to differentiate truth from error, he will also become knowledgeable and win a living, i.e. convinced faith...._>Amen

Ce qu'il faut comprendre par « foi »

De vous les hommes il est exigé la foi pour quelque chose pour lequel il vous manque les preuves. De vous il est exigé que vous deviez accepter la Vérité de ce qui vous est communiqué. De vous il est exigé que vous-mêmes vous vous déclariez pour cette Vérité. Cela est la foi. Vous devez donc vous baser sur le savoir de ceux qui cherchent à vous transmettre leur savoir, et selon leur crédibilité vous acceptez le savoir. Le savoir terrestre maintenant peut s'affirmer par des preuves, et il est de toute façon possible qu'aux hommes de telles preuves ne soient pas accessibles, mais malgré cela vous serez convaincus de la Vérité, si vous avez une très pleine confiance dans celui qui vous transmet le savoir. Une telle foi n'est en rien extraordinaire, elle est simplement une confiance sur le fait que le prochain soit informé d’une manière juste et que puisse être accepté sans préoccupation ce qu'il transmet. Mais autrement ce sont les choses qui relèvent d’un savoir spirituel, pour lequel il ne peut pas être fourni de preuves. Alors il dépend de vous-mêmes, si vous donnez au transmetteur du savoir spirituel une confiance telle que vous acceptez sans réfléchir, que donc vous croyez ce qu'il vous dit. Et vous savez que chaque homme peut se tromper, que seulement de la part de Dieu toute erreur est exclue. Comment devez-vous maintenant vous procurer la conviction intérieure de la Vérité de ce que devez croire ? Parce que seulement une foi convaincue a de la valeur. On ne peut pas fournir de preuves et l'homme qui vous transmet un savoir peut vous transmettre aussi un patrimoine spirituel faux que vous ne contredisez pas et de l'extérieur vous semblez y avoir « foi », cependant cela ne peut pas être décrit comme foi tant qu’à l'homme il manque la conviction intérieure. Et l'homme peut se procurer cette conviction intérieure seulement de Dieu Lui-Même, de Celui Qui sait tout et Qui veut donner une Lumière à Ses créatures pour qu'elles trouvent une sortie de l’obscurité de l'esprit. Donc l'homme qui veut conquérir une foi convaincue doit se tourner vers Dieu en pensées ou dans la prière. Mais à Dieu va à nouveau seulement un homme qui se déclare intérieurement pour Lui, qui se sent uni et qui donc est intérieurement uni avec Lui, parce qu’il vit dans l'amour. Aucun homme qui est sans amour n’aura une foi vivante, parce que l'entendement ne pourra pas lui en donner la conviction, parce que ce sont des domaines spirituels, c’est un savoir spirituel qui ne peut pas être sondé par l’entendement. L'homme n'arrivera jamais intellectuellement à un savoir spirituel. L'entendement pourra certes réfléchir sur le savoir reçu par le cœur et prendre position, et dès qu’un homme est rempli d'amour, l'entendement ne se rebellera pas. Alors il acceptera sans doute le savoir spirituel, même lorsqu’il est offert de la part d’un prochain, parce que l'amour dans l'homme lui donne la Lumière de la connaissance. Laissez-Moi vous dire cette chose, c’est qu'il n'existe aucune foi vivante sans l'amour, et que l’entendement ne peut pas remplacer l'amour, lorsqu’il s'agit d'un savoir purement spirituel ; par contre un savoir terrestre, pour lequel les preuves sont seulement insuffisantes à l’homme, peut être accepté fidèlement par l'entendement dès que l'enseignant lui semble crédible. Mais pour le savoir spirituel il n'existe pas de preuves, et malgré cela la foi dans ce savoir peut devenir dans l'homme une conviction, mais toujours seulement lorsque l'homme au travers d’une vie d'amour arrive à un savoir qui est apporté à travers l'esprit par Dieu Lui-Même. Alors cette « action spirituelle dans l'homme » est une preuve suffisante et alors on peut parler de « foi », et malgré cela elle n'est pas une foi morte, mais elle est devenue vivante par l'amour et maintenant l'homme soutient convaincu ce qui ne peut pas être affirmé par des preuves. Mais si l'homme a une très pleine familiarité et confiance dans celui qui l'instruit sur le savoir spirituel, alors il pourra aussi croire, il l'acceptera sans preuve lorsque lui-même mène une vie d'amour, et il édifiera sur le savoir spirituel transmis, c’est-à-dire qu’il mettra toujours à la base de son chemin de vie ce savoir et rendra sienne la Volonté de Dieu qu’il apprend à connaître à travers le savoir spirituel. Et s’il vit selon la Volonté de Dieu, alors tout s'éclairera aussi en lui et il apprendra à distinguer la Vérité de l'erreur, il deviendra dans la connaissance et conquerra une foi vivante, c’est à dire convaincue.
