When does the spiritual in matter become free?....

The liberation of the spiritual in matter takes an infinitely long time, if the entire course of development is to be understood by this, the course through the creations of earth until embodiment as a human being. Hard matter keeps the spiritual imprisoned for an exceedingly long time, while the already more pliable shells in the plant and animal world release it again far more quickly so that it can move into the next external form, for the existence of plants and animals is not of such long duration as the human being himself can ascertain because he can follow the continuous becoming and passing away in the plant and animal world. And once the spiritual was able to obtain such creations, then it is also not too long until the last embodiment as a human being. However, it is hard matter which can often remain in existence for an inconceivably long time without experiencing dissolution, and which is therefore assigned to the still completely rebellious to stay in, so that it should give up its rebelliousness in it. Admittedly, this spiritual substance is not yet aware of itself but it feels the agony of its banishment and seeks to break its bonds, which, however, it only ever succeeds in doing when it is God's will, when He deems the right time to have come.... Then the hardest matter can burst, which, however, does not mean freedom for the spiritual, but only a change of its bondage and at the same time a serving abandonment of this matter.... So then the path of serving in the law of compulsion already begins, as soon as hard matter is assigned a purpose, as soon as it is used to serve a certain purpose. And this can again take eternities until such outer shells now dissolve, but the spiritual in all matter always becomes free when a 'serving' in it has become impossible.... always provided that it has already been allowed to serve. And this therefore means that objects of use contain spirituality as long as they can still be used, as long as they serve some purpose. But if these things are deprived of their purpose, if they are thus rendered unsuitable by destruction to continue to fulfil a serving function, but if the spiritual substance in matter has not acquired the degree of maturity which is a prerequisite for the next easier external form, then that spiritual substance will be transferred into newly-emerging identical things in order to be able to continue the interrupted course of development.... but in which a corresponding serving activity must always be made possible for this spiritual substance. You must therefore differentiate: Spiritual things which are, as it were, so hardened in themselves that they have become 'matter', and whose giving up of resistance is expressed in the willingness to serve already more mature spiritual things as a cover.... and spiritual, which in these material shells now likewise declares itself ready for serving activity. And so the material shell can become useless for a specific serving purpose. Then the spiritual that comes to maturity in it escapes and moves into a new outer form, while the previous cover sooner or later receives the same task again, as soon as it has again become a suitable outer form in connection with such other disused covers, in which now again already more mature spiritual is ready to serve. Or else this matter, which has become unsuitable, dissolves itself, then the spiritual in it has freed itself and can now itself take on forms in which it is ready to serve. And the more an external form is given the opportunity to serve, the more matter itself will approach the process of dissolution, and then the second phase of development can already begin, that this spiritual being, originally banished in solid matter, can now already itself be active in external forms, thus serving.... which is why the dissolution of matter is a process which cannot be valued highly enough, but which must not be brought about wantonly, but must again only have as its motive a service to humanity or also to the still unredeemed creature. Only through service can the spiritual release itself from its bondage....

Quando si libera lo spirituale nella materia?

La liberazione dello spirituale nella materia richiede un tempo infinitamente lungo, se con ciò è da intendere l’intero percorso di sviluppo, il percorso attraverso le Creazioni della Terra fino all’incorporazione come uomo. La dura materia trattiene lo spirituale estremamente a lungo, mentre gli involucri molto più cedevoli lo liberano di nuovo velocemente nel mondo vegetale e animale, affinché possa rivestire la forma esteriore successiva, perché l’esistenza di piante ed animali non è di durata così lunga, come lo può constatare l’uomo stesso, perché può seguire il continuo divenire e svanire nel mondo vegetale ed animale. E se lo spirituale poteva rivestire una volta tali Creazioni, allora non ci vuole nemmeno più troppo tempo fino all’ultima incorporazione come uomo. Ma è la dura materia che può a volte sussistere per un tempo inimmaginabilmente lungo, senza sperimentare una dissoluzione e che perciò viene assegnato allo spirituale ancora totalmente ribelle come dimora, affinché in questa possa deporre la sua ribellione. Questo spirituale non è ancora consapevole di sé stesso, ma percepisce i tormenti della sua rilegazione e cerca di spezzare le sue catene, cosa che gli riesce sempre soltanto quando è la Volontà di Dio, quando Egli considera venuto il giusto momento. Allora la più dura materia può spezzarsi, che però non significa libertà per lo spirituale, ma soltanto un cambiamento delle sue catene e contemporaneamente un compito servente di questa materia. Allora comincia già la via del servire nella legge dell’obbligo, appena alla dura materia viene assegnata una destinazione, appena viene usata per servire ad un certo scopo. E questo può nuovamente durare delle Eternità, finché tali involucri si dissolvono, ma lo spirituale in ogni materia diventa sempre libero quando in lei un “servire” diventa impossibile, sempre premesso che sia stato già ammesso una volta al servire. E ciò significa dunque che degli oggetti d’uso celano dello spirituale in sé finché possono essere ancora usate, finché servono ad una qualunque destinazione. Ma se a queste cose viene tolta la loro destinazione, diventa quindi inutilizzabile dalla distruzione per adempiere una funzione servente, senza però aver procurato allo spirituale che si trova nella materia, il grado di maturità, che è condizione per la successiva forma esterna più leggera, così quello spirituale viene posto in cose simili che sorgono di nuovo, per poter continuare il percorso di sviluppo interrotto, in cui però deve sempre essere resa possibile una relativa attività servente a questo spirituale. Dovete quindi distinguere: dello spirituale che è indurito in sé così che è diventato “materia”, e la sua rinuncia alla ribellione si manifesta nella disponibilità di servire come involucro a dello spirituale già più maturo, e dello spirituale, che in questi involucri materiali si dichiara ora pronto pure all’attività servente. E così l’involucro materiale può diventare inutilizzabile per uno scopo servente a lei destinato. Allora lo spirituale che giunge in lei alla maturazione fugge e riveste una nuova forma esterna, mentre l’involucro precedente prima o poi serve di nuovo allo stesso compito appena, entra in contatto con altri simili involucri dimessi, è di nuovo diventata una idonea forma esterna nella quale ora è nuovamente pronto a servire uno spirituale già più maturo. Oppure questa materia stessa diventata inservibile si dissolve, allora lo spirituale in essa si è liberato ed ora può da sé rivestire delle forme nelle quali è pronto a servire. E più viene data l’occasione di servire ad una forma esterna, più la materia in sé andrà anche incontro al processo di dissoluzione, ed allora può già iniziare la seconda fase dello sviluppo, in modo che lo spirituale originariamente legato nella solida materia può già da sé diventare attivo nelle forme esteriori, quindi servire, per cui la dissoluzione della materia è un processo che non può essere stimato abbastanza alto, che però non deve essere provocato arbitrariamente, ma deve avere soltanto un motivo di un servire per l’umanità oppure anche per la creatura non ancora liberata. Lo spirituale si può liberare dalle sue catene soltanto attraverso il servire.
