Sleep state.... light and life....

People walk along on earth as if in a state of sleep, indifferently abandoning themselves to rest and inactivity which, however, signifies the greatest disadvantage for the soul. The time of their earthly life is given to them to achieve an aim, and this aim is also attainable if only they remember that a task has been set for them and that they now live earthly life consciously. Only a few do this, but the majority let themselves drift and sink into the whirlpool of the world, i.e., their souls receive no upliftment, they remain in a state of sleep which changes into a state of death when earthly life is over. Life alone is desirable.... Yet no human being thinks of the fact that he is striving towards death, which he can very well escape.... Every person loves life and yet does not strive for it, and it is his own fault, his own will, if his soul sinks into the night of death.... He acts thoughtlessly and unconscionably towards his soul because he does not consider that his soul is his ' I ' after all and that this soul can never ever pass away. He does not believe it, although he is enlightened about it, although he is not completely left without knowledge about it..... And he cannot necessarily be made to believe.... and his indifference prevents light from reaching him.... He goes through this earthly life with his eyes closed, and if he opens them he only looks at things which are desirable to his body, but he does not let a ray of light penetrate as far as to the soul.... It remains in dark night, in a state of sleep, and finally finds death. How full of light your earthly life could be if earthly life were not enough for you.... if you demanded a glimpse into the spiritual kingdom.... if you demanded information about your destiny and your earthly task. You would never again remain in darkness, the light from above would make you happy and fill you with the desire to acquire eternal life.... You would awaken and go energetically to your work.... to free the soul from its enclosure.... you would free yourselves from darkness and weakness.... you would enter into light and life and never wish to return to your former state, when you walked blindly and weakly on earth.... You would desire life and also receive it.... But light and life can only be given to you if you seriously strive for it. But as long as you remain indifferent to your ' I ', as long as you only seek your physical well-being and do not think of the soul, you will remain in the night, and darkness will also be your fate after your death, because you have not made use of the earthly life which was given to you to ascend from the night to the light....

잠을 자는 상태. 빛과 생명.

사람들이 수면 상태에 있는 것처럼 살고 무관심하게 휴식하고 활동하지 않는다. 그러나 이런 일은 혼에게 가장 크게 불리한 일이다. 혼이 한 목표에 도달하도록 혼에게 이 땅의 삶이 주어졌고 혼이 단지 자신에게 주어진 과제를 생각하고 이제 의식적으로 이 땅의 삶을 살면 혼이 목표를 달성할 수 있다. 단지 소수의 사람들이 이렇게 산다. 그러나 대다수는 세상의 소용돌이 속에서 산다. 즉 사람들의 혼이 동력을 얻지 못하고 잠자는 상태로 머문다. 이런 잠자는 상태는 이 땅의 삶이 끝나면 죽음의 상태로 바뀐다. 유일하게 갈망할 만한 것은 생명이다. 그러나 아무도 그가 아주 잘 피할 수 있는 죽음을 추구한다고 생각하지 않는다.

모든 사람이 생명을 사랑하지만 생명을 추구하지 않는다. 그의 혼이 죽음의 밤에 가라 앉으면 이런 일은 그 자신의 잘못이고 그 자신의 의지이다. 그는 생각이 없고 양심이 없이 그의 혼을 대한다. 왜냐면 그의 "나"인 혼이 절대로 소멸될 수 없다는 것을 생각하지 않기 때문이다. 그는 이에 대한 설명을 받고 그가 전적으로 깨달음이 없게 놔두지 않을지라도 그는 이를 믿지 않는다. 그를 강제로 믿게 만들 수는 없고 그의 무관심이 빛이 그에게 비추는 일을 막는다.

그는 눈을 감은 채로 이 땅의 삶을 산다. 그가 눈을 뜨면 그는 단지 그의 육체가 갈망할만하게 보이는 몸에 좋은 것을 바라보지만 빛이 그의 혼에게 임하는 일을 허용하지 않는다. 혼은 어두운 밤 가운데 잠자는 상태에 머물고 마침내 죽음을 맞이한다. 너희가 이 땅의 삶으로 만족하지 않고 갈망하는 가운데 영의 나라를 바라보고 너희가 정함받은 사명과 이 땅의 과제에 대한 설명받기를 원하면 너희는 절대로 어두움 속에 머물지 않게 될 것이고 위에서 온 빛이 너희를 행복하게 하고 너희 자신을 위해 영원한 생명을 얻으려는 소망으로 충만하게 해주었을 것이다.

너희는 깨어나게 되었을 것이고 온 힘을 다해 혼을 혼의 겉형체로부터 해방시키는 너희의 일을 수행했을 것이다. 너희는 너희 자신을 어두움과 연약함에서 벗어나게 될 것이다. 너희는 빛과 생명으로 들어가고 다시는 이전 상태로 돌아 가기를 원하지 않게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 너희가 이 땅에서 눈이 먼 가운데 연약한 가운데 살았기 때문이다. 너희는 생명을 갈망하게 될 것이고 또한 생명을 얻게 될 것이다. 그러나 너희가 생명을 진지하게 추구하면 빛과 생명이 단지 너희에게 주어질 수 있다. 그러나 너희가 너희 자신에게 무관심하고 단지 너희의 육체적 안녕을 추구하고 혼을 생각하지 않는 동안에는 너희는 밤 가운데 머물고 또한 너희의 죽음 후에 어두움이 너희의 운명이 될 것이다. 왜냐면 너희가 밤을 벗어나 빛으로 올라서도록 너희에게 주어진 이 땅의 삶을 활용하지 않았기 때문이다.
