Lord's day.... commandment.... ?

You shall celebrate the day of the lord.... This is what you have been commanded, so that you humans will not forget Him Who created you, Who is your father, to Whom you should return again after an infinitely long life.... This commandment should be unnecessary for you, for you should constantly remember the eternal God, because everything you experience and every work of creation around you reminds you of Him.... truly, no commandment should be necessary but you should turn your thoughts to Him of your own accord, and you should not let a day pass by without having entered into intimate contact with Him.... Every day should be a day of the lord for you where you commend yourselves to His love and grace in heartfelt prayer. But a commandment had to be given to you humans so that the time of lukewarmness would be bridged, so that you would be reminded of your actual task to make your God and creator the content of all your thoughts and striving. Therefore, as long as you have not yet recognized the purpose of your earthly life, as long as you are still distant from God, as long as He has not yet become your father, you must be urged to occupy yourselves on one day with such thoughts which are spiritually directed; you must hear or read about Him to Whom you owe your existence, you must learn about His will, and it must be presented to you what you should do in order to come close to Him, in order to become blissfully happy.... Therefore the commandment was given to you humans to keep the lord's day holy, to take a day of rest after the days of work and on this day of rest to seek contact with your God and creator.... This day should always return, it should become a regularity for you as long as you do not yet urge yourselves to make every day you are given a 'lord's day', so that even in the midst of your work you send your thoughts up to Him, that you commend all your thoughts and actions to Him, that you let Him be present to you at every hour, that you are in intimate contact with your heavenly father, that every separation between Him and you is abolished.... that you live and create on earth in and with God.... Then every day of your life will truly be a day of the lord, a true holiday for the soul which always dwells with Him even though the body is earthly active, and then you will truly not need a commandment, then only your heart, which is filled with love for the father, will command you, and then you will serve Him joyfully and eagerly without commandment, you will be active for Him because you are driven by love, because you have now found your way home to your father of eternity....

주의 날. 계명,

너희는 주님의 날을 지켜야 한다. 너희 사람들이 너희를 창조한, 끝없이 긴 여정을 거쳐서 다시 돌아 가야할 너희 아버지를 잊지 않도록 너희에게 이 계명을 주었다. 이 계명이 너희에게 필요하지 않게 되어야 한다. 왜냐면 너희 주변의 모든 창조물들과 너희가 체험하는 모든 것들이 하나님을 생각나게 하기 때문이고, 너희가 영원한 하나님을 항상 생각해야 하기 때문이다. 사실상 이 계명은 너희에게 필요가 없어야 하고, 너희가 스스로 너희 생각이 영원한 하나님을 향하게 해야 하고, 하루라도 나와 깊이 연합이 되지 않고 보내는 날이 없게 해야 한다.

매일이 너희에게 주님의 날이 돼야 하고, 너희가 깊이 함께 기도 가운데 너희를 하나님의 사랑과 은혜에 의탁해야 한다. 그러나 무관심의 시대를 극복하고 너희가 너희의 창조주 하나님을 너희 모든 생각의 중심이 되게 하고, 너희가 추구하는 대상이 되야 하는, 너희의 실제 과제를 기억하도록 너희에게 계명을 줘야만 했다. 그러므로 너희가 너희의 이 땅의 인생의 목적을 아직 깨닫지 못하는 동안에는, 너희가 하나님으로부터 멀리 떨어져 있는 동안에는, 그리고 하나님이 너희에게 아직 아버지가 되지 못한 동안에는, 너희가 주님의 날에 이와 같은 영적인 생각을 하게 만들어야만 한다. 너희는 너희 존재를 가능하게 해준 나에 대해 들어야만 하고, 읽어야만 하고, 너희는 그의 뜻이 무엇인지 알아야만 한다. 너희가 복되게 되기 위해, 그에게 가까이 가기 위해, 너희가 무엇을 해야 하는 지에 대해 소개받아야만 한다. 그러므로 너희에게 주님의 날을 거룩하게 지키라는 계명이 주어졌다. 일을 하는 날들 뒤에 안식하는 날로, 이 안식일에 너희의 창조주 한나님과 연합되기를 구해야 한다.

이 날은 항상 반복되야 한다. 너희가 매일을 주님의 날로 스스로 만들지 못하는 동안에는 이 날은 너희에게 규칙적인 날이 되야 한다. 이로써 일하는 가운데서도 생각을 주님께 드리며, 너희의 모든 생각과 행동을 주님께 의뢰하며, 매시간 주님이 너희에게 임재하도록, 하늘의 아버지와 긴밀한 교제 가운데 있도록, 그와 너희와의 모든 간격이 사라지도록, 너희가 이 땅에서 그와 함께, 그 안에서 살며 역사할 수 있게 된다면, 진실로 너희 인생의 매일 매일이 너희에게 주님의 날이며, 비록 육체는 세상적인 일을 할지라도, 혼은 항상 하나님과 함께 거하는 올바른 혼의 안식일이다. 그러면 너희는 진실로 계명이 필요하지 않고, 단지 아버지를 향한 사랑으로 충만한 심장이 너희에게 명하고 그러면 너희는 계명이 없이 기쁨으로 열심히 아버지를 섬기게 되고, 아버지를 위해 일하게 된다. 왜냐면 사랑이 너희를 인도하기 때문이고, 너희가 이제 영원한 너희 아버지가 계신 고향을 찾았기 때문이다.
