"He who is not for Me is against Me...."

This is what you should learn to recognize: who is for Me and who is against Me.... You will not always be able to rely on words, for people are often not even aware of whom they serve, Me or the world.... They confess Me with their mouth and yet are connected to the heart of the world. Consequently, they serve two masters and one will always have the upper hand, and you should judge this and take appropriate action against it. For then it is the human being's will which is decisive as to how he decides when he is seriously reminded that he can certainly deceive himself but never Me. To be for Me means to stand up for Me completely, to confess Me in life without shyness and without reserve. But anyone who cannot do this is not for Me but against Me, for he is prevented and allows himself to be prevented from freely confessing by My adversary, and he offers him no resistance. Thus he does not believe in Me, he is, as it were, wearing two armpits, he stands in the traditional faith which cannot stand any test and does not withstand a serious examination. But it is a serious test when he is called upon to confess before the world, before his fellow human beings.... Then he fails, then My presence is improbable to him, the spiritual kingdom is unreal to him, he believes what he sees and also stands up for it. Hence he belongs to the world; but the world is not My kingdom, consequently he cannot be My representative on earth either, because My word does not mean to him what it is.... the emanation of Myself. And thus, if he is not entirely for Me, he either acts against My will or he is guilty of an omission, and in both cases he is against Me.... He does what the world demands, he denies Me, if not with his mouth, then nevertheless in his heart and distances himself from Me instead of approaching Me. And that is why it is said: He who is not for Me is against Me.... For I am not content with a person not only not rejecting Me but I demand that he confesses Me openly and unashamedly, otherwise I will regard him as My adversary, which he also is in his heart, even if he speaks My name....

"나를 위하지 않는 사람은 나를 대적하는 것이다."

너희가 깨닫는 법을 배워야 하는 것은 누가 나를 위하는 사람이고 누가 나를 반대하는 사람인지이다. 너희는 항상 하는 말을 신뢰할 수 없게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 사람들이 자주 나를 섬기는지 또는 세상을 섬기는지 섬기는 대상을 의식하지 못하기 때문이다. 그들이 실제 입으로 나를 고백하지만, 그러나 심장은 아직 세상과 연결되어 있다. 그러므로 그들은 두 명의 주인을 섬기고, 하나가 항상 우위를 차지할 것이다. 너희는 이를 판단해야 하고, 그에 합당하게 대응해야 한다. 왜냐면 인간에게 진지하게 그가 자신을 속일 수는 있지만, 나를 속일 수 없다는 것을 알려줄 때, 의지가 어떻게 결정할지가 결정적이기 때문이다.

나를 위하는 일은 나를 위해 전적으로 모두 나서는 일이고, 삶 가운데 주저하지 않고 조건 없이 나를 고백하는 일을 의미한다. 그러나 이 일을 할 수 없는 사람은 나를 위한 사람이 아니라 나를 반대하는 사람이다. 왜냐면 그가 나의 대적자 앞에서 자유롭게 고백하는 일에 방해를 받고 자신이 방해하도록 허용하고 나의 대적자에게 저항하지 않기 때문이다. 그러므로 그는 나를 믿지 않고, 그는 어떤 의미에서 양다리를 걸치고, 시험을 견딜 수 없고 심각한 시험을 이기지 못하는 전통적인 믿음을 가지고 있다. 진지한 시험은 그가 세상과 그의 이웃사람들 앞에서 고백하라는 요청을 받는 일이다.

그러면 그는 실패하고, 그에게 나의 임재는 불가능해 보이고, 영의 나라는 그에게 비현실적이다. 그는 자신이 보는 것을 믿고 또한 자신이 보는 것을 위해 자신을 드린다. 그러므로 그는 세상에 속한다. 그러나 세상은 나의 나라가 아니다. 그러므로 그는 이 땅에서 나의 대리자가 될 수 없다. 왜냐면 나 자신의 발산인 나의 말씀이 그에게 나 자신의 발산을 의미하지 않기 때문이다. 그가 전적으로 나를 위하지 않기 때문에 그는 내 의지에 반하는 행동을 하거나 행하지 않는 죄를 범하고, 두가지 일들이 나를 대항하는 일이다.

그는 세상이 요구하는 일을 행하고, 비록 그가 입으로 나를 부인하지 않을지라도 심장 안에서 나를 부인하고, 나에게 다가오는 대신에 나로부터 멀어진다. 그러므로 나는 나를 위하지 않는 사람은 나에게 대적하는 사람이라고 말한다. 왜냐면 나는 사람이 나를 거부하지 않는 일로 만족하지 않고, 공개적으로 두려움 없이 나를 고백하는 일을 요구하고, 그가 이 요구를 따르지 않으면, 그가 비록 입으로는 내 이름을 말하지만, 심장 안에 나의 대적자가 거하는 그를 나의 대적자로 여기기 때문이다.
