Stage of ignorance.... knowledge....

In the stages of the human being's preliminary development the will of the spiritual is still bound, and therefore its ascent development is certain, because the bound will signifies a natural law fulfilling itself in divine order, thus the will of the spiritual subordinates itself to divine will, even if in a certain state of compulsion. This preliminary development is therefore a transitional stage between complete immaturity, i.e. remoteness from God, and the stage where the spiritual is so far developed that it can recognize itself as being far from God and now consciously strive towards God. And the spiritual being must have reached this degree of recognition before it can embody itself as a human being to pass the last test of will on earth. The fallen spiritual being's complete ignorance would prevent it from consciously striving upwards, for the darkness which keeps it imprisoned in utmost distance from God is ignorance of the highest being from Whom it once emerged in perfection. The being must be led out of this total darkness into a state where it can recognize light if it is willing. And thus the stage as a human being is at the same time a stage of light which can unfold from the weakest twilight to the brightest illuminating power if the human being wants it himself.... i.e., the human being has the ability to recognize, and he can change the state of ignorance into a state of deepest knowledge and thus step out of the darkness of spiritual night into the brightest light of day. Only his will must become active itself. The spiritual night is no longer impenetrable at the beginning of his embodiment as a human being, it has given way to an exceedingly weak twilight.... the success of the endless long earthly walk before, where the spiritual had to pass through deepest darkness under God's guidance, but which it did not recognize. It would be impossible for the spiritual being to cover this long path without God's assistance, and thus if it did not reach the certain degree of maturity in the state of compulsion it would eternally remain distant from God, in utmost weakness, and the gulf would be unbridgeable. God Himself therefore created the bridge through His work of creation, which only serves to force the beingness to travel a path which it could and would never cover of its own strength and will. Nevertheless, even in the stage as a human being the spiritual is still in danger of increasing the distance from God instead of decreasing it, because now free will comes into action, thus the human being can oppose the law of divine order, divine will, and he then remains in complete ignorance about the nature of God, which is equal to the state of darkness before. And now God gives him extraordinary help again through Jesus Christ, the divine redeemer.... Where the human being's will is too weak but is not curtailed by God in its freedom, it can be strengthened through God's help, yet the human being's free will is also required for this, for the final redemption from the form applies, which can only take place in free will. The spiritual being is so weak of itself that help has to be granted to it throughout its time of development, whatever God's love is willing to do. But in the last stage the being has to help, it has to want to be helped itself, then it can easily pass the last test of earthly life, it can come to realization and consciously strive towards God, with the help of the divine redeemer it can muster an exceedingly strong will and reach its aim in a short time.... to completely detach itself from the realm of darkness, to bridge the gulf to God, and to return to the state of strength and freedom which was its original state.... to be intimately united with God again and to live in bliss for all eternity....

무지의 단계. 이해.

인간의 이전의 성장 단계에 있는 영적인 존재의 의지는 아직 묶여 있다. 그러므로 영적인 존재가 성장하는 일은 확실하다. 왜냐면 의지가 묶임을 받는 일은 하나님의 질서로 성취시키는 자연 법칙을 의미하기 때문이다. 즉 영적인 존재의 의지가 한 특정한 의무 상태에 있을지라도, 영적인 존재의 의지가 하나님의 의지에 순복하기 때문이다. 따라서 이전의 성장은 영적인 존재가 완전한 미성숙한 상태에서, 즉 하나님과 멀리 떨어진 상태에서, 어느 정도 성장하여, 영적인 존재가 자신이 하나님으로부터 멀리 떨어져 있음을 깨닫고, 하나님을 이제 의식적으로 추구할 수 있게 하는 단계이다. 존재가 이 땅에서 마지막 의지의 시험을 통과하기 위해 인간으로 육신을 입기 전에, 존재는 이를 깨달을 수 있는 정도에 도달해야만 한다.

타락한 영적인 존재의 전적인 무지가 의식적으로 성장을 추구하는 일을 불가능 하게 한다. 왜냐면 하나님으로부터 아주 먼 거리에서 영적인 존재를 묶고 있는 어두움은 자신을 한때 온전하게 생성되게 한, 최고로 높은 존재에 대한 무지이기 때문이다. 영적인 존재가 원한다면, 그는 이런 완전한 어두움에서 빛을 깨달을 수 있는 상태로 인도돼야만 한다. 그러므로 인간의 단계는 동시에 빛의 단계이고, 사람이 단지 원한다면, 가장 약한 황혼의 빛에서 가장 밝은 빛으로 성장할 수 있다. 다시 말해 사람은 깨달을 수 있는 능력이 있고, 그는 무지의 상태를 가장 깊은 지식을 가진 상태로 바꿀 수 있고, 영의 어두운 밤을 벗어나 가장 밝은 낮의 빛으로 들어설 수 있다. 단지 그의 의지가 역사해야만 한다.

영적인 존재가 인간으로 육신을 입기 시작할 때의 영적인 밤은 더 이상 접근할 수 없고, 영적인 밤이 아주 약한 여명의 빛에 의해 물러나고, 이는 끝없이 오랜 동안의 이 전의 이 땅의 과정이 성공한 것이다. 영적인 존재는 하나님의 인도 아래 이런 과정 가운데 그가 깨닫지 못한 가장 깊은 어두움을 통과해야만 했다. 영적인 존재가 하나님의 도움이 없이 이런 긴 과정을 가는 일은 불가능할 것이고, 이로써 의무의 단계에서 특정한 성장정도에 이르지 못했다면, 영적인 존재는 하나님으로부터 아주 멀리 떨어져, 아주 크게 무기력한 가운데 영원히 머물렀을 것이고, 격차를 해결할 수 없었을 것이다. 그러므로 하나님 자신이 자신의 창조물을 통해 다리를 만들었다. 창조물은 단지 영적인 존재가 강제로 한 길을 가게 하는 일을 섬긴다. 왜냐면 영적인 존재가 자신의 힘과 의지로는 이 길을 절대로 갈 수 없고, 가지 못할 것이기 때문이다.

그럼에도 불구하고 인간 단계에서 영적인 존재가 하나님과의 거리를 줄이는 대신, 멀어 질 위험에 처한다. 왜냐면 이제 자유의지가 행동하여, 인간이 하나님의 질서의 법칙에, 하나님의 의지에 저항할 수 있고, 그러면 그는 이 전의 어두움의 상태에 있을 때처럼, 하나님의 본질에 대해 전적으로 무지한 가운데 머문다. 하나님은 이제 신적인 구세주인 예수 그리스도를 통해 그에게 다시 특별한 도움을 준다. 인간의 의지가 너무 연약하지만, 하나님은 인간의 자유를 침해하지 않으면서, 도움을 주어 그의 의지를 강하게 할 수 있다. 그러나 이를 위해 인간의 자유의지가 필요하다. 왜냐면 형체로부터의 최종적으로 자유롭게 되는 일은 단지 자유의지로 일어날 수 있기 때문이다.

영적인 존재 자체는 너무 연약해서 그의 모든 성장기간 동안 도움을 줘야만 하고, 하나님의 사랑은 항상 도움을 줄 준비가 되어 있다. 그러나 마지막 단계에서 존재는 스스로 자신을 도와야만 한다. 존재는 스스로 도움을 받기를 원해야만 하고, 그러면 존재는 마지막 이 땅의 삶의 시험을 쉽게 통과할 수 있다. 존재는 깨달음에 도달할 수 있고, 의식적으로 하나님을 추구할 수 있다. 존재는 하나님의 구세주의 도움으로 아주 강한 의지를 가질 수 있게 되고, 짧은 시간 내에 목표에 도달할 수 있게 될 것이다. 존재는 어두움의 영역에서 완전히 벗어나, 하나님과의 간격을 메우고, 원래 상태였던 힘과 자유를 가진 상태로 다시 돌아가, 하나님과 다시 긴밀하게 연결이 되고, 모든 영원에 영원까지 축복 가운데 살 수 있게 될 것이다.
