Resistance makes the word of God ineffective....

The strength from God can only work where it is not opposed, and therefore the word of God can sound completely ineffective at the human being's ear as soon as he closes his heart, thus he does not want to receive it as God’s word. For the strength from God is something which has to be ardently desired; it does not flow to the human being against his will. And that is why the word does not come alive but only remains a dead word which neither blesses nor increases knowledge. It is neither recognized as truth nor as a divine mission, it will neither inspire faith nor spiritual striving, but then the reason for rejection is never to be sought in the word itself but only in the human being's will, which is still full of resistance against God, even though he does not admit this. He persists in defence without being able to justify it properly, for he accepts without resistance the mental transmissions which are imparted to him by God's opposing power. And this is the cause of every blatant rejection, for God's adversary works with all zeal to suppress the pure truth and to dissuade people from it. And he has succeeded so that the human being is no longer able to recognize the divine gift, which everyone can recognize if only he is willing and desirous of the truth. The word of God is offered such that its origin can very well be recognized, for the word speaks for itself, yet only for the one who intimately unites with God and desires to receive the truth from Him. If, however, the word is received unwillingly, if it is opposed, then the desire for truth is excluded, and then it will neither be understood nor have a beneficial effect on the human being, it will not be followed and thus will not result in the blessing which the lived word inevitably brings to the human being.... it cannot enlighten the spirit and give the human being the bliss of knowledge. And thus the word is then ineffective, its strength is not felt because the human being closes himself off to it. It is the greatest grace when God comes to people in the word, it is a measure of grace which is placed at his disposal without the human being's merit, yet it is entirely up to him whether he uses this gift of grace, whether he allows the word to speak to him, whether he acknowledges it as a divine gift, whether he thus allows the grace to take effect in him, for this depends on his will alone. If the will resists, then the human being will have no success whatsoever for his soul, then it will not contribute particularly to his higher development unless he practices love and thus unconsciously relinquishes his resistance to God.... But then he will also recognize His word, he will no longer reject it, even though he still hesitantly lets it affect him. However, it will touch him more and more and he will slowly become convinced of the truth of what is presented to him through the word of God.... Then his resistance will be broken and the word of God can take effect on him....

La résistance rend inefficace la Parole de Dieu

La Force de Dieu peut agir seulement là où il ne lui est opposé aucune résistance et donc la Parole de Dieu peut retentir totalement sans effet dans l'oreille de l'homme dès qu'il ferme son cœur, donc dès qu’il ne veut pas l'accueillir comme Parole de Dieu. Parce que la Force de Dieu est quelque chose qui doit être convoitée intensément et intimement ; elle n'afflue pas à l'homme contre sa volonté. Et donc la Parole ne devient pas vivante, mais elle reste seulement un mot mort qui n'offre pas de Bénédiction et n’augmente pas le savoir. Elle n'est pas reconnue comme Vérité ni comme Envoi divin, elle ne stimulera ni à la foi ni à une tendance spirituelle, mais alors le motif du refus n'est jamais à chercher dans la Parole elle-même, mais seulement dans la volonté de l'homme qui est encore pleine de résistance contre Dieu, bien qu’il ne l'admette pas. Il reste dans le refus sans pouvoir bien le motiver, parce qu'il accepte sans résistance les transmissions qui sont communiquées par le pouvoir contraire à Dieu. Et cela est la cause de son refus obstiné, parce que l'adversaire de Dieu travaille avec toute la ferveur possible pour supprimer la Vérité et pour l’éloigner des hommes. Et cela lui réussit si l'homme n'est plus en mesure de reconnaître le Don divin que chacun peut reconnaître si seulement il est de bonne volonté et désire la Vérité. La Parole de Dieu est offerte de sorte que son Origine puisse très bien être reconnue, parce que la Parole parle par elle-même, mais toujours seulement pour celui qui s'unit intimement avec Dieu et désire recevoir de Lui la Vérité. Mais si la Parole est accueillie à contrecœur, s'il lui est opposé le refus, alors le désir pour la Vérité est exclu et elle n’est alors pas comprise et elle n’exercera aucun effet bénéfique sur l'homme, elle ne sera pas suivie et elle n'aura même pas pour conséquence la Bénédiction que la Parole vécue procure inévitablement à l'homme, elle ne peut pas éclairer l'esprit et donner à l'homme la béatitude du savoir. Et ainsi la Parole est alors inefficace, sa Force n’est pas perceptible, parce que l'homme se ferme. C’est une très grande Grâce lorsque Dieu vient aux hommes dans la Parole, c’est une mesure de Grâce qui est mise à disposition sans être méritée, mais l’homme est totalement libre d’utiliser ou non ce Don de Grâce, de laisser la Parole lui parler, s’il la reconnaît comme un Don divin, si donc il la laisse devenir efficace sur lui, parce que cela dépend uniquement de sa volonté. Si celle-ci se rebelle, alors l'homme n’enregistrera aucun succès pour son âme, il ne contribuera alors pas particulièrement à son développement vers le Haut, à moins qu'il exerce l'amour et donc qu’il renonce involontairement à sa résistance contre Dieu. Mais alors il reconnaîtra aussi Sa Parole, il ne s’y opposera plus avec une attitude de refus, bien qu’il l’ait laissé agir sur lui avec retard. Mais elle le touchera toujours plus et il sera vite convaincu de la Vérité de ce qui lui est soumis à travers la Parole de Dieu. Alors sa résistance est cassée et la Parole de Dieu peut devenir efficace sur lui.
