Challenges to the adversary and weapons....

You must never give yourselves over to the forces of evil, for your will determines its power over you. As soon as this will is turned towards God you are immune to his attacks and you will not be so exposed to his temptations. Yet he only lurks for moments when this will is weak in order to gain influence over him. Therefore watch and pray.... never feel so strong that you do not need to fear him, but know that he constantly lurks around you and tries to turn you away from God. For he knows about the weaknesses of the individual and uses them in such a way that the human being is in danger if he does not remain in constant contact with God through heartfelt prayer and loving activity. Where love is practiced, the enemy encounters stiff resistance, for there his efforts are fruitless. Loving activity is the surest way to banish him from the vicinity. God's adversary leaves a person who is active in love unmolested because he is so closely united with God through his activity of love that all power of the adversary is shattered. For love is God, and he can no longer successfully fight against God. The will to do good is likewise a strong weapon against him, only lukewarmness and sluggishness are a great danger, for they signify weakness of will and are welcome opportunities for God's adversary to bring his power to bear. He is immediately prepared to reinforce the weak-willed state by presenting the human being with pleasures which are intended to captivate his senses and turn him away from that which alone is worth striving for.... from union with God.... He seeks to disturb the intimacy of prayer and to gain influence over people's thinking. If he succeeds, man loses himself in superficialities, his spiritual striving weakens and his power to resist diminishes. A person who strives towards God will indeed fight his way through again, but it is lost time which is irreplaceable, for every ascent is arduous and therefore all the more difficult the deeper the person sinks. Therefore watch and pray, do not let up in your striving towards God, call upon Him for His help and thus deny the adversary access to you. Remain active in love and thereby resist his efforts, then you will always have the strength to fend him off and withdraw yourselves from his influence....

Tentaciones del adversario y armas...

Nunca debéis rendiros a las fuerzas del mal porque vuestra voluntad determina su poder sobre vosotros. tan pronto como esta voluntad está dirigida hacia Dios, estáis protegidos contra sus ataques y no estaréis tan expuestos a sus tentaciones. Pero solo acecha en los momentos cuando esta voluntad es débil para ganar influencia en ella. Por lo tanto velad y orad... nunca os sentís tan fuertes que no necesitéis temerle, sino sabed, que él está constantemente al acecho a tu alrededor y está tratando de apartaros de Dios. Porque conoce las debilidades del individuo y las utiliza de tal manera que el hombre corre peligro si no se mantiene en contacto constante con Dios a través de la oración sincera y la obra de amor.

Donde se practica el amor, allí el enemigo encuentra una dura resistencia, porque allí sus esfuerzos son infructuosos. La obra del amor es el medio más seguro de desterrarlo de la cercanía. El oponente de Dios deja a una persona que está activa en el amor sin ser molestado porque está tan íntimamente conectado con Dios a través de su obra de amor que todo el poder del oponente se rompe. Porque el amor es Dios, y ya no puede luchar con éxito contra Dios. La voluntad de hacer el bien es también un arma poderosa contra él, sólo la tibieza y la pereza son un gran peligro, porque significan debilidad de voluntad y son oportunidades bienvenidas para que el adversario de Dios para manifestar su poder. Él está inmediatamente listo de fortalecer el estado de debilidad de la voluntad mostrando al hombre comodidades para cautivar sus sentidos y alejarlo de lo único por lo que vale la pena luchar... es decir, la unión con Dios...

Busca perturbar la intimidad de la oración y ganar influencia en los pensamientos de las personas. Si tiene éxito, el hombre se pierde en cosas superficiales, su esfuerzo espiritual se debilita y su fuerza de resistir disminuye. Una persona que se esfuerza hacia Dios lucha de nuevo por sí misma, pero es tiempo perdido que es insustituible, porque cada ascenso es arduo y por lo tanto más difícil, más profundo se hunde la persona. Velas, pues, y orad, y no cejéis en vuestro empeño por llegar a Dios, clamadle por Su ayuda, y así negad al adversario el acceso a vosotros. manteneos activos en el amor y así resistís sus esfuerzos, entonces siempre tendréis la fuerza de alejarlo y evadiros de su influencia...
