Matter.... change - upward development.... serve....

The perpetual process of change can be observed in all creations and therefore has to take place according to divine will, because no other being can implement its will in the works of creation. It is God's will that the spiritual, which is bound in the works of creation, changes, and this change can only take place when also the outer form undergoes a change, and this outer change is therefore the actual life of the spiritual, it is so to speak the visible sign of an upward development of the spiritual hiding in it, because as long as this remains in its resistance against God, also the outer form remains almost unchanged. From this it can be concluded that all solid matter which remains in its nature and condition for a long time harbours spiritual substances which are opposed to God and that this matter should not be striven for by man if it is not needed for a serving purpose. If matter is used to mould things that are useful to man, then man himself contributes to the transformation of such external forms.... but if an external form remains and is desired by people for the sake of this external form, then the human being is in danger of being dominated by matter and this is a disadvantage for his soul. There are countless things which could be counted as so-called dead matter and which are desired by people without them fulfilling a useful purpose.... These are decorative objects of all kinds that merely trigger the joy of earthly possession without fulfilling a purpose. They are only a lure of the world as long as they serve to fulfil one's own desires and do not fulfil their purpose in serving neighbourly love The spiritual bound in this matter captivates the senses of man, and this means a spiritual regression for the latter, since he demands something that he has long since overcome, and the spiritual in matter finds support through the desire of man, in that he strives for the possession of what he desires, and he gives the spiritual in the form the opportunity to remain in the form for a long time. But what does not change in its outer form does not progress in its upward development....

(27.6.1943) To desire such solid matter as possession is of extreme disadvantage for the soul of man because it makes him a slave of matter, it conquers him instead of man conquering matter. Objects which are created by human hands but which have no serving purpose are likewise suited to arouse human desire and now remain in their form for a long time, and the spiritual in them is bound for just as long. It cannot develop upwards because it is prevented from serving, because it lacks the will to do so, but man also does not help this spiritual by carefully protecting the solid matter from every change and thus prolongs the compulsion around the spiritual through his love for dead matter. In the same way, utilitarian objects whose actual purpose is a serving one, but which are not used for their actual purpose out of love for matter, are also an agonizing fetter for the spiritual substance hidden in them as long as the human being persists in his love for such things.... if the external form is not changed by divine will, i.e. if such objects are destroyed against human will through many different causes. Then the spiritual in the form is willing to serve, and the outer fetter is loosened or destroyed despite human love for it. A change of the outer form, therefore of all works of creation, must take place if these works are to fulfil their purpose; the spiritual in every work of creation must mature through service and then be released again to the next stage of its development. Man's love for matter prolongs the state of compulsion of the spiritual in it, the stubborn spiritual, which does not let up in its resistance against God, now also influences the thinking of men to unite with it, it therefore drives to materialism and causes great spiritual devastation among mankind. Nevertheless, this spirituality feels the compulsion that the external form causes it and unlawfully tries to escape it.... it tries to confuse human thinking, i.e., God-opposing forces use the weakness of man for dead matter in order to incite them to unkindness against each other, to unlawfully appropriate the matter of fellow human beings and, if necessary, to achieve this through violence, which can also have a destructive effect on matter. In its ignorance, the spiritual believes itself to be free when its outer form is destroyed by people's lack of love. Violent destruction is therefore never spiritual progress but an illegally interrupted course of development, for the release from a form only depends on whether this form fulfils a serving purpose. And in the same way the destruction of an outer form must have as its cause the will to produce something new from it which again fulfils a serving purpose. Then the change of the outer form is willed by God and for the spiritual in it an ascent to....

Materia.... Desarrollo hacia arriba.... Servir....

El constante proceso de cambio se puede observar en todas las creaciones y, por lo tanto, tiene que producirse según la voluntad divina, porque ningún otro ser puede realizar su voluntad sobre las obras de la creación. Está en la voluntad de Dios que lo espiritual atado en las obras de la creación, cambié, y este cambio sólo puede tener lugar si la forma externa también sufre un cambio, y este cambio externo es, por lo tanto, la vida real de lo espiritual es, por así decirlo, el señal visible de un desarrollo ascendente de lo espiritual contenido en ello, porque mientras éste persevera en su resistencia a Dios, la forma exterior también se mantiene casi inalterada.

De esto se puede concluir que toda materia sólida permanece en su naturaleza y constitución por mucho tiempo contiene algo espiritual contrario a Dios y que esta materia no debería ser buscada por el hombre si no es necesaria para un fin útil. Si la materia se utiliza para formar cosas que son útiles para los humanos, entonces los propios humanos contribuyen a la transformación de tales formas externas.... pero si una forma externa y es deseado por los humanos por esa forma externa, entonces el humano corre el peligro de ser dominado por la materia y esto es una desventaja para su alma.

Hay innumerables cosas que podrían considerarse materia muerta y que son deseadas por el hombre sin cumplir un propósito útil.... Se trata de articulas de joyería de toda clase que simplemente provocan alegría como posesiones terrenas sin cumplir un propósito. Son sólo un señuelo del mundo mientras sirven para satisfacer los propios deseos y no cumplen su propósito de servir en amor al prójimo. Lo espiritual atado a esta materia cautiva los sentidos del ser humano, y esto significa una regresión espiritual para este último, ya que exige algo que hace tiempo ya había superado, y lo espiritual en la materia encuentra apoyo en el deseo del hombre, que se esfuerza por poseer lo que desea, y le da a lo espiritual en la forma la oportunidad de permanecer en ella durante mucho tiempo.

Pero lo que no se cambia en su forma exterior tampoco progresa en el desarrollo ascendente.... (27.06.1943) Desear una materia tan sólida como posesión es extremadamente desventajoso para el alma humana, porque se hace esclava de la materia, ella le vence a él, en lugar de que el hombre vence a la materia. Los objetos creados por manos humanos, que no tienen ningún propósito útil, también son adecuados para despertar el anhelo humano y permanecer en su forma durante mucho tiempo, y lo espiritual también permanece atado en ella por el mismo tiempo. No puede desarrollarse hacia la altura porque se lo impide servir, porque carece de voluntad para hacerlo, pero el hombre tampoco ayuda a este espiritual al proteger cuidadosamente la materia sólida de todo cambio y prologando así la coerción en torno a lo espiritual a través de su amor por la materia muerta.

De la misma manera, los objetos cotidianos cuyo propósito real es servir, pero que no son utilizados para su propósito real por amor a la materia, son una atadura tortuosa para lo espiritual que se alberga en ella, mientras que el humano permanezca en su amor por tales cosas.... si la forma externa no es cambiada por la voluntad divina, es decir, si tales objetos son destruidos por diversas causas contra la voluntad humana. Entonces lo espiritual en la forma está dispuesto a servir y la atadura se afloja o se destruye a pesar del amor humano por ella. Tiene que producirse un cambio de la forma externa, es decir, de todas las obras de creación, para que estas obras cumplan su propósito; lo espiritual en cada obra de la creación tiene que madurar a través del servicio y luego ser liberado nuevamente a la siguiente etapa de su desarrollo.

El amor del hombre por la materia prolonga en ella el estado forzado de lo espiritual; lo espiritual obstinado, que no ceja en su resistencia a Dios, ahora también influye en el pensamiento de los humanos para conectarse con ellos, por lo que conduce hacia el materialismo y causa una gran devastación psicológica entre la humanidad. Sin embargo, este espiritual siente la limitación que le causa la forma externa, y busca ilegalmente escapar de ella.... trata de confundir el pensamiento humano, es decir, fuerzas opuestas a Dios utilizan la debilidad del hombre por la materia muerta para incitar a los humanos a ser crueles unos con otros, a apropiarse ilegalmente del material de sus semejantes y, si es necesario, a lograrlo mediante la violencia, que también puede tener un efecto destructivo sobre la materia.

En su ignorancia, lo espiritual cree que es libre cuando su forma externa es destruida por el desamor de los humanos. Pero una destrucción violenta nunca es un progreso espiritual, sino más bien un curso de desarrollo ilegalmente interrumpido, por la liberación de una forma sólo depende de si esta forma cumple un propósito útil. Y de la misma manera, la destrucción de una forma externa debe ser causada por la voluntad de crear a partir de ella algo nuevo que cumpla nuevamente un propósito útil. Entonces el cambio en la forma es querido por Dios y para lo espiritual dentro de ella es un ascenso a las alturas....
