State of the soul in the afterlife that is still attached to matter....

Everything earthly comes to an end with the physical death of man. There is nothing that man can take over from it into the beyond. Only what his thoughts desire he will find over there, and if these thoughts are still very much connected with matter, with earthly goods, then his imagination will also conjure up these goods for him in the hereafter, according to his desire, but these will no longer exist earthly tangibly. Thus the human being will then live outside the earth but within that which he constructs for himself in his world of thoughts. And so the human being, who cannot yet completely separate himself from matter, has to take up the same battle against it as on earth; he cannot enter the kingdom of the spirit until he has overcome his cravings and freed himself from them. Thus earthly life may well be over but not his earthly state as far as it is felt by the being itself. This is a pitiable state, a state of unfulfilled desires, agonizing longing and constant disappointment, a state of constant dissatisfaction and tormenting self-reproach, or.... what is even worse.... an apathetic sinking into deepest darkness, where the being is inaccessible to all help and instruction and cannot muster any will to improve its situation. What it has left behind on earth, the soul now tries to gain again and again, it mainly stays where it lived on earth and sees and follows everything that happens. And this is time spent in vain, which brings no change to its situation and also no change to its thinking. Only after an unspeakably long time does it recognize its pitiful state, it realizes that it no longer has any connection with the earth and sees the hopelessness of its efforts to gain or hold on to earthly goods. This realization is followed by a time of deepest despair which lasts until the being gives in to the urging of helpful souls and decides to take action to free itself from its dreadful state.... The path of higher development can now be travelled incredibly quickly once the being has recognized this. Then it seeks to escape the state of darkness by virtue of its will, which it still calls its own, and such a desire is largely supported. It will now willingly separate itself from every desire which was still for earthly possessions, it will no longer desire anything other than light and freedom, and its own agonizing state lets it become sympathetic for the fate of the other unredeemed souls. And now love starts to become active in it by now turning its help towards the beings which are still enveloped by deeper darkness. And now the being redeems itself through the love it gives to its fellow sufferers, and it willingly follows the guidance of the beings of light by allowing itself to be taught by them and now enlightens the beings again, to whom it can thereby bring help. The being only becomes free when it has killed, i.e. overcome, all desire for matter within itself. If the being still succeeds in doing so on earth it can enter the beyond carefree and its state will bring it light and knowledge, yet the path to ascent is indescribably arduous for the soul which is still chained to the possessions of this world, for until it has overcome this inclination it cannot enter spheres of light and thus has to endure endless times of torment until it finally realizes.... but then to restlessly work on itself and make up for what it neglected to do on earth.... to give love in order to redeem itself and its kind through love....

Estado da alma no além ainda ligado à matéria....

Tudo o que é terreno chega ao fim com a morte física do ser humano. Não há nada que o ser humano possa assumir para o além. Ele só encontrará do outro lado aquilo que os seus pensamentos desejam, e se esses pensamentos ainda estiverem muito ligados à matéria, aos bens terrenos, a sua imaginação também lhe invocará esses bens no além, segundo o seu desejo, mas eles não mais existirão de forma tangível terrena. Então o homem vive fora da Terra, mas dentro daquilo que ele constrói para si no seu mundo de pensamentos. E assim o ser humano, que ainda não pode separar-se completamente da matéria, tem de travar contra ela a mesma batalha que na Terra; não pode entrar no reino do espírito até que tenha superado os seus desejos e se tenha libertado deles. Assim a vida terrena pode certamente ser terminada, mas não a sua condição terrena, na medida em que é sentida pelo próprio ser. Este é um estado lamentável, um estado de desejos não realizados, uma saudade agonizante e uma decepção constante, um estado de constante insatisfação e tormento de auto-repreensão, ou.... o que é ainda pior.... um afundamento apático na mais profunda escuridão, onde o ser é inacessível a toda ajuda e instrução e não pode reunir qualquer vontade de melhorar a sua situação. O que deixou para trás na Terra, agora a alma procura ganhar de novo e de novo, ela fica principalmente onde viveu na Terra e vê e segue tudo o que acontece. E este é um tempo inútil, que não lhe traz nenhuma mudança de situação e também nenhuma mudança de pensamento. Só depois de um tempo indizível reconhece o seu estado lamentável, percebe que já não tem qualquer ligação com a Terra e vê a desesperança dos seus esforços para ganhar ou agarrar-se aos bens terrenos. Esta realização é seguida por um tempo de profundo desespero que dura até que o ser cede ao impulso das almas úteis e decide tomar medidas que o libertam do seu estado terrível.... O caminho do desenvolvimento superior pode agora ser percorrido de forma incrivelmente rápida, uma vez que o ser o tenha reconhecido. Então procurará escapar ao estado de escuridão em virtude da sua vontade, que ainda chama sua, e tal desejo será amplamente apoiado. Agora se separará de bom grado de todo desejo que ainda se aplicava aos bens terrenos, não desejará mais nada além de luz e liberdade, e seu próprio estado agonizante permite que se torne compassivo pelo destino das outras almas não redimidas. E agora o amor começa a se tornar ativo nele, voltando sua ajuda para os seres que ainda estão envoltos em escuridão mais profunda. E agora o ser se redime através do amor que se volta para os seus semelhantes que sofrem, e segue de boa vontade a orientação dos seres de luz, permitindo-se ser ensinado por eles e agora, por sua vez, ilumina novamente os seres a quem pode trazer ajuda. O ser só se torna livre quando matou, ou seja, superou, todo o desejo de matéria dentro de si mesmo. Se o ser for bem sucedido nisto enquanto ainda na Terra pode entrar no além despreocupado, e a sua situação lhe dará luz e conhecimento, mas o caminho para a ascensão é indescritivelmente árduo para a alma que ainda está acorrentada aos bens deste mundo, pois até ter superado esta inclinação não pode entrar nas esferas de luz e, portanto, tem de suportar tempos intermináveis de tormento até finalmente reconhecer...., mas depois trabalha incansavelmente sobre si mesmo e compensa o que negligenciou fazer na Terra.... para dar amor a fim de se redimir e redimir a sua espécie através do amor....
