Obstacles....

Love of neighbour....

It is a time of inner struggle, which the person striving towards God has to live through, so that his will becomes strong and he finally decides in favour of or against God. For nothing can be gained without a fight, and what can be achieved effortlessly is of little value. But the divine gift.... of eternal life.... is so infinitely precious that no effort should be too great to promise this possession. Only a few people apply all their will to withstand all adversities of life and still serve God with the greatest devotion, and their perseverance will be a blessing, for at the same time their will and love for God will strengthen.... Whoever wants to reach God by overcoming obstacles will also have his strength increased, and it will soon seem easy to him what he previously thought was insurmountable. Only fighting or serving can lead you to the goal, yet where you willingly serve, the battle will become easy for you or be spared altogether. Yet at times you will become lukewarm in your service, and thus have to fight against adversity and obstacles which you cannot be spared, otherwise the danger of a standstill may arise which would be of great disadvantage to the soul. What is more difficult for the human being to achieve often spurs him on to utmost activity, and this is the purpose of such adversities, that you do not tire or stand still but steadfastly continue the path upwards.... and that you ask for strength so that it can be given to you to overcome everything that hinders you on the path upwards.... The commandment to love one's neighbour often requires a sacrifice of that which is desirable to man. He must be able to willingly give away what he himself possesses and his neighbour lacks, he must renounce it with joyfulness of heart, he must see his most beautiful task on earth in always giving what brings joy to his neighbour. Then he will experience the same in himself.... he will be given.... he will receive what the Lord Himself offers him, be it earthly or spiritually. God will always give to the one who gives to his neighbour. And thus, if the heart is involved in giving, the heart will also be allowed to receive. Earthly and spiritual gifts, offered in love, will bring in earthly and spiritual successes.... spiritual successes unmeasured and earthly reward, as far as this is beneficial for the soul. Thus a person will never deprive himself if his love for his neighbour prompts him to give. And therefore, misery and worry would never again be represented on earth if every human being would lovingly grant his neighbour help, for God Himself blesses every deed of love. However, humanity lacks the realisation that only love is redeeming. Self-love is strongly developed, and this in turn prevents people from practising neighbourly love, which is only of value if it is done without any self-interest. In most cases, however, the human being will think of his own well-being and, since he therefore does nothing to gain God's blessing and His love, will have to be made aware of the wrongness of his thoughts and actions, of his omission, through suffering and hardship, and thus cause hardship and suffering. For love redeems, but unkindness makes the human being unfree and keeps him in the adversary's bondage.... God Himself, however, cannot approach an unloving creature, and divine gifts can never be offered to him.... thus the human being, who only loves his own self and disregards his neighbour in need of help, has to thirst, for he cannot receive anything other than what he gives....

Obstacles - l'amour pour le prochain

C’est un temps de lutte intérieure que l'homme qui tend vers Dieu doit vivre jusqu'au bout, pour que sa volonté devienne forte et qu’il se décide définitivement pour ou contre Dieu. Parce que rien ne peut être conquis sans lutte, et ce qui est accessible sans fatigue a seulement une moindre valeur. Mais le Don divin, la Vie éternelle, est si infiniment précieux qu’aucune fatigue qui procure cette possession ne devrait être trop grande. Seulement peu d'hommes emploient toute leur volonté pour résister à toutes les adversités de la vie, et malgré cela ils servent Dieu avec le plus grand dévouement, et leur persévérance aura la Bénédiction, parce qu'en même temps leur volonté et leur amour pour Dieu devient de fer. Celui qui veut arriver à Dieu en dépassant les obstacles, verra sa force augmenter, et bientôt ce que d'abord il croyait infranchissable lui semblera facile. Seulement la lutte et le service peuvent vous mener au but, mais là où vous servez avec bonne volonté la lutte vous deviendra facile ou bien elle vous sera entièrement épargnée. Mais parfois vous devenez tièdes dans le service et donc vous devez combattre contre des malaises et des obstacles qui ne peuvent pas vous être épargnés, parce qu'autrement il pourrait surgir un arrêt qui serait un grand désavantage pour l'âme. Ce qui pour l'homme est le plus difficile à atteindre le pousse souvent à une plus grande activité, et cela est le but de telles adversités, pour que vous ne faiblissiez pas ou que vous ne vous arrêtiez pas, mais que vous continuiez incessamment vers le Haut, et pour que vous demandiez la Force afin que vous puissiez être poussé au dépassement de tout ce qui est un obstacle sur la voie vers le Haut. Le Commandement de l'amour pour le prochain demande très souvent de sacrifier ce qui pour l'homme est désirable. On doit pouvoir donner de bonne volonté ce que l’on possède soi-même et qui manque au prochain, et on doit s’en défaire avec la joie au cœur, on doit voir sa plus belle tâche terrestre dans ce qui crée de la joie au prochain. Alors l’homme expérimentera la même chose sur lui, il lui sera donné, il pourra recevoir ce que lui offre le Seigneur Lui-Même, soit d’une manière terrestre soit d’une manière spirituelle. Dieu prodiguera toujours à celui qui de lui-même donne au prochain. Et lorsque le cœur participe en donnant, le cœur pourra aussi recevoir. Les Dons terrestres et spirituels offerts par Amour procureront toujours des succès terrestres et spirituels, des succès spirituels démesurés et des récompenses terrestres pour autant que celles-ci soient en accord avec le bien de l'âme. Donc l'homme ne se volera jamais lui-même si l'amour le pousse à donner au prochain. Et donc sur la Terre la misère et la préoccupation ne seraient jamais présentes si chaque homme concédait affectueusement son aide au prochain, parce que Dieu Lui-Même bénit chaque action d'amour. À l'humanité il manque la connaissance que seulement l'amour est libérateur. L'amour-propre est fortement développé, et cela entrave de nouveau l'homme dans l'exercice de l'amour pour le prochain, et celui-ci a de la valeur seulement lorsqu’il est activé sans quelque avantage. Mais l'homme pensera presque toujours à son propre bien-être et, vu qu’il ne fait rien pour se conquérir la Bénédiction de Dieu et de Son Amour, il devra lui être montré ses pensées et ses actes erronés au travers de souffrances et de misères, son omission provoquera de la misère et de la souffrance. Parce que l'amour libère, mais le désamour rend l'homme non-libre et le tient lié à l'adversaire. Mais Dieu Lui-Même ne peut pas s'approcher d’une créature sans amour, et il ne peut jamais lui être offert un Don divin, donc l'homme qui s’aime seulement lui-même et ne s'occupe pas de son prochain qui a besoin d'aide languit, parce qu'il ne peut pas recevoir autre chose que ce qu’il donne.
