5452 Distributing of the light requires a desire for it....

July 31, 1952: Book 60

You who desire the light will receive light. And that’s why My sun of grace also shines into the darkness, rays of light flash in the abyss as well so that the desire for light will be awakened in the souls who have dwelled in darkness for an infinite long time and cannot remove themselves from it on their own. But as soon as a ray of light flashes, the desire to escape the darkness is aroused in some souls, and to these souls will also be offered the opportunity; they will be lured out of the abyss, as it were, and slowly follow the ray, often hesitantly, and they will be led to where there is light in abundance, though not visible to them in its full brightness because they could not bear it as long as they are still dark in he spirit.... Light beings constantly descend to the depths in order to bring up those who are willing to follow them. It is not an act of force nor an extraordinary-seeming process which could determine the souls of darkness to follow them but, like on earth, the soul must be willing to accept a gift presented to it.... Once its resistance against Me has diminished, it will then perceive the light as a benefit and it will then also voluntarily follow the messengers of light, even though it only sees compassionate souls in them whom it should join. And this willingness is the requirement to be touched by a ray of light.... For the will of every being in the abyss is known to Me, and I constantly send them willing-to-help souls in order to lift them up into spheres where they are now offered the opportunity to acquire light for themselves and to improve their lot.

(31.7.1952) All souls in the kingdom of the beyond who have reached a certain degree of maturity, who can receive light, carry out redemptive activity, for every soul must possess light itself if it wants to pass it on to those who still dwell in darkness. But redemptive activity can also be carried out on earth by people who, by a way of life according to My will, are likewise able to receive and pass on light. As soon as they with true neighborly love take care of the souls who still live in spiritual darkness, they are joined to the crowd of people who are active in redemptive activity, and they, too, are recognized by the souls in the kingdom of the beyond as a source of light and strength and are therefore surrounded constantly, for wherever just a loving thought is directed to the souls in the beyond, it is recognizable to them as a ray of light.

But where there is love there is also wisdom, light, which chases away the dark spiritual state. Where there is love, there the souls who want light are drawn towards it and where there is love, there they will also be allowed to receive it always.... The moment the will and desire for light has become active in them, they will never let up, they accept hungrily what signifies nourishment for them, they strengthen themselves with it so that they will always be able to continuously receive more and are now likewise inspired by the will to pass on or to point souls of darkness to where light is emanated. Yet nothing can be administered without desire.... The beings are to be wanting freely, on earth as well as in the spiritual kingdom.... in free will they must return to Me, yet loving help will always be given to them, for the light wants to spread out and illuminate everything that was previously dark.... I want to make all beings happy with My light of love, who willingly open themselves to receive My light within themselves....
