5443 Spiritual drought - Water of life.... Awakening of a spiritual hunger....

July 20, 1952: Book 60

You ought to seize every opportunity to be active for Me and My kingdom. A spiritual hunger should be awakened, you should distribute samples and to be able to always be certain of My blessing from faith in Me so that your work may be successful. It is a great spiritual drought, a spiritual desert where no life thrives, and you ought to bring fruitfulness into this desert.... an undertaking which seems almost impractical and yet is possible if the living water is supplied to it, if something truly life-awakening is carried into the desert and the emerging seed is nurtured carefully, if My Word, the true water of life, is carried with much love and patience to wherever human hearts are barren and empty and in need of a new revival. The spiritual hunger in people's hearts must be stirred and therefore the bread of heaven must be presented close to them so that they will reach for it and refresh themselves.... Only a few make the attempt, yet they will never regret it, for they receive something precious which they do not want to give away at all. No spiritual gift remains ineffective once it has been received as nourishment for the soul. Whoever receives it in the desire for spiritual nourishment will certainly be strengthened and gratefully recognize it as bread from heaven, the one will supply his soul with living water and truly turn a desert of a heart into fertile soil, the one will feel the flow of divine love and open himself to it, and he will never ever go hungry again, for as soon as he desires nourishment for his soul he will also receive it. I will send My messengers to him so that they will give him what he needs for his soul. And that’s why you should be constantly active, for the spiritual hardship is enormous and only My Word can give people what they need in order to reduce the spiritual hardship....
