3820 Free will....

July 8, 1946: Book 48

You came forth from Me and shall return to Me again in order to remain Mine forever and enjoy all the delights of heaven. My plan of eternity has nothing else as its aim than the final unification of My living creations with Me, but it has to take place in the free will of these creations or they would not be able to be My children who shall be active in creating and shaping in all perfection. And if My living creations use their free will to draw closer to Me it truly only takes a short time to become My image, to become perfect, just as the father in heaven is perfect. But if My living creations prolong the time themselves in free will I do not prevent them, yet this is truly not My fault and My will; however, I always and constantly help them to reach the aim, even if by means which appear incomprehensible to them as long as they are not yet in realisation. I constantly appeal for My living creations' love, for this is the prerequisite for them to use their will correctly and strive towards Me. Only when the creature is filled with love for Me will it seek to unite with Me, and then the time until unification with Me will only be short.... then it will be close to the aim.... My creations emerged from My strength of love, thus their original substance is love which inevitably has to return to eternal love again if it has distanced itself from it. For the strength from Me is indivisible, it cannot be lost, only the creature can no longer recognize itself as what it is and in this ignorance keep itself away from Me as long as it wants to endure the powerless state which is the result of its distance from Me.... If it longs for strength then the distance from Me is already reduced and it strives towards the original state where it was in full possession of strength in supreme knowledge. My creations, however, in order to be supremely perfect also had to be completely free in thought and will, and they also had to be able to use their will in all directions, they, as good and perfect created by Me, also had to remain good and perfect in free will, and therefore it was given the opportunity to develop in every direction.... And even if they fell into the deepest abyss, if the will expressed itself in the wrong direction, they nevertheless inevitably had to ascend again, yet also in free will, because otherwise perfection would be eliminated. And only love for Me, for the origin of themselves, lets their will become active in the right direction, which is why I constantly court their love, which is why I always and constantly approach My living creations in the stage of free will where it has to prove itself. Nothing will be lost in eternity that has originated from Me; but so that it does not have to languish at a distance from Me for eternities I use all means, for only My nearness signifies happiness and bliss for the created by Me, but any distance from Me signifies wretchedness, darkness and lack of strength.... a state which is greatest torment for that which has emerged in all freedom and strength. Yet in order to form true children from My living creations, who shall possess all the father's rights and take up the father's inheritance, I cannot impose any restriction on their will. They must find their way to Me of their own accord, they must love Me with all their heart and press towards Me, and I will draw them to My heart with joy and make them blissfully happy for all eternity....
