Gedanke - vom Willen abhängig....

Es formen sich die Gedanken dem menschlichen Willen gemäß, und darum ist der Mensch auch für seine Gedanken verantwortlich. Sowie der Mensch sich selbst beobachtet, wird er erkennen, daß seine Gedanken den Weg gehen, den sein Wille ihnen vorschreibt, daß er also ihm unangenehme Gedanken verwirft und bei jenen Gedanken länger verweilt, die ihm zusagen. Und also ist der menschliche Wille ausschlaggebend und dieser wieder je nach dem Willen zur Welt oder zum geistigen Reich verkehrt oder recht vor Gott. Und darum kann Gott die Geschehen noch so leidvoll über den Menschen kommen lassen, vom menschlichen Willen allein hängt es ab, wie er es aufnimmt und ob es eine Wandlung seines Denkens hervorbringt. Die Not und Trübsal in der Welt soll die Menschen zu Gott zurückführen, d.h., ihre Gedanken sollen darauf gerichtet sein, dem Mitmenschen die Not zu lindern, Gott um Hilfe anzurufen und jederzeit den göttlichen Willen zu erfüllen. Doch die Menschen werden immer verhärteter, und selbst das schwerste Leid vermag nicht, sie zu wandeln. Denn ihr Denken ist nur auf die irdische Materie gerichtet. Wohl drängen sich auch andere Gedanken an den Menschen heran, doch er nimmt sie nicht an; sein Wille verwirft sie und hält fest an solchen Gedanken, die ihm geistig wenig zuträglich sind, denn er liebt die Welt, und lässet seine Gedanken auch ständig um diese irdische Welt kreisen. Tritt ihm der Gedanke an Gott nahe, so verwirft er ihn, anstatt ihn zu ergreifen und ernstlich mit seinem Schöpfer sich auseinanderzusetzen und das Weltgeschehen in Verbindung zu bringen mit dem Leben des einzelnen und seiner Einstellung zu Gott. Die Unbeständigkeit des irdischen Besitzes und der ihm ständig vor Augen tretende Tod der Mitmenschen müßte seine Gedanken ablenken vom Irdischen und ihn hinweisen auf die Ewigkeit, doch alle auftauchenden Gedanken daran läßt er wieder fallen, oder er wehrt sich dagegen, und das ist es, wofür er sich dereinst verantworten muß. Sein Wille strebt der Welt zu, und sein Denken bleibt in immer gleicher Richtung.... Und es ist dies der Zustand der gesamten Menschheit bis auf einige wenige, die in ihrem größten Elend zu Gott flüchten und sich Ihm und Seiner Gnade empfehlen. Wenige verlangen nichts mehr von dieser Welt und streben dem geistigen Reich zu, doch die Mehrzahl ist auch durch das schlimmste Geschehen nicht von dem irdischen Denken abzubringen, weshalb auch die Not und Trübsal noch kein Ende haben kann. Der geistige Tiefstand der Menschen erfordert eine solche, und das verkehrte Denken soll dadurch noch gewandelt werden, weil anders keine Wandlung mehr erreicht werden kann und die Zeit drängt, denn sie geht ihrem Ende entgegen. Und darum wird noch viel Leid über die Erde gehen müssen, auf daß die Menschen sich frei machen von der Liebe zur Materie, auf daß sie die Erde überwinden und geistige Güter anstreben, auf daß sie die letzte Zeit nützen, die ihnen noch bleibt bis zur letzten Entscheidung....

Thought - dependent on the will....

Thoughts are formed according to human will and therefore the human being is also responsible for his thoughts. As soon as the human being observes himself he will recognize that his thoughts follow the path his will prescribes for them, that he therefore discards thoughts which are unpleasant to him and dwells longer on those thoughts which appeal to him. And therefore the human will is decisive and this again is wrong or right before God according to the will towards the world or towards the spiritual kingdom. And that is why God can let the events come upon the human being no matter how sorrowful, it depends solely on the human will how he receives it and whether it brings about a change in his thinking. The hardship and affliction in the world should lead people back to God, i.e. their thoughts should be directed towards alleviating their fellow human being's hardship, calling upon God for help and fulfilling God's will at all times. However, people are becoming increasingly hardened and even the most severe suffering is unable to change them. For their thoughts are only focussed on earthly matter. Admittedly, other thoughts also push themselves towards the human being but he does not accept them; his will rejects them and holds on to such thoughts which are of little spiritual benefit to him, for he loves the world and also constantly lets his thoughts revolve around this earthly world. If the thought of God comes close to him, he rejects it instead of seizing it and seriously engaging with his creator and bringing world events into connection with the life of the individual and his attitude towards God. The impermanence of earthly possessions and the death of his fellow human beings which constantly appears before his eyes should distract his thoughts from the earthly and point him towards eternity, but he drops all emerging thoughts of it again or he resists them, and that is what he will have to answer for one day. His will strives towards the world and his thinking always remains in the same direction.... And this is the state of all humanity except for a few who, in their greatest misery, take refuge in God and commend themselves to Him and His grace. A few no longer demand anything from this world and strive towards the spiritual kingdom, but the majority cannot be dissuaded from earthly thinking even by the worst events, which is why the hardship and tribulation cannot yet come to an end. People's low spiritual level necessitates this and the wrong thinking is still to be changed as a result because no other change can be achieved and time is pressing because it is approaching its end. And therefore much suffering will still have to befall the earth so that people will free themselves from their love for matter, so that they will overcome the earth and strive for spiritual possessions, so that they will make use of the last time they have left until the final decision....
