Sorge um das leibliche Wohl....

Der Welt mit ihren Anforderungen wird zumeist Genüge getan, und es ergeben sich so viele Gelegenheiten, in denen der Mensch weitaus mehr besorgt ist um das, was vergänglich ist und völlig wertlos am Ende der Tage. Und doch sollte fortgesetzt die Tätigkeit der Menschen nur dem Seelenheil gelten und der Kampf um die täglichen Bedürfnisse nur in kleinstem Maße ihn bedrücken, nicht aber als Wichtigstes im Erdenleben angesehen werden. Denn es ist viel einfacher, den Anforderungen des Körpers auf Erden gerecht zu werden als denen der Seele für die Ewigkeit. Es gilt im Erdenleben doch das größte Problem zu lösen, es geht um die Befreiung der Seele von der sie Jahrtausende hindurch gefangenhaltenden Materie, es geht um die endgültige Rückkehr zu Gott, dem Träger alles Lichtes, während der Körper nur für kurze Zeit seine äußerliche Aufrechterhaltung fordert und diesem Begehren mit Leichtigkeit nachzukommen ist bei richtiger Erkenntnis und der rechten Einstellung Gott gegenüber. Wenn der Mensch die Schule des Geistes in rechter Weise absolviert, so ist ihm die Gewähr gegeben, wohlvorbereitet für die Ewigkeit die Trennung der Seele vom Körper erwarten zu können, denn er hat dann die Erdenzeit so genützet, wie es seine Aufgabe war, und aus eigenem Antrieb an der Vervollkommnung seiner Seele gearbeitet. Den Körper jedoch, den ihm Gott für seine Erdenaufgabe gegeben hat, erhält auch die Güte und Liebe des himmlischen Vaters und versorgt ihn mit allem für das Leben Erforderliche. Und so ist die Sorge um diesen völlig unbegründet, es wird das Leben auf Erden auch weit leichter zu ertragen sein in ständiger Berücksichtigung des Seelenzustandes. Dieser aber kann nur dann ausgiebig bedacht werden, wenn allen weltlichen Interessen wenig Aufmerksamkeit gilt.... Es lassen sich nicht beide so entgegengesetzt liegende Probleme gleichzeitig lösen.... Es kann nicht gleichzeitig der Welt mit allen ihren Anforderungen genügt werden, wenn die Arbeit an der Seele um Erreichung des Vollkommenheitszustandes fortschreiten soll.... Nur eins ist restlos möglich, und deshalb muß sich der Mensch entscheiden und kann nur immer nach einer Seite vollauf tätig sein. Es bedenken die Menschen so wenig, daß sie doch alles Irdische hingeben müssen, wenn die Stunde des Todes an sie herantritt.... daß sie jedoch einen anderen Schatz sich sammeln können in der Erdenzeit, der unvergänglich ist.... der ihnen angesichts des Todes nicht genommen werden kann und der den Tod.... das Scheiden von der Welt, zu einem schmerzlosen, befreiten Eingehen in die Ewigkeit gestalten kann.... Dies allein schon müßte ihnen Anreiz sein, sich der eigentlichen Betätigung während ihres Leibeslebens emsiger hinzugeben und alles irdische Verlangen zu ersticken, es müßte ihnen der Gedanke an irdische Versorgung so fernliegen, doch jede Stunde ihnen wichtig erscheinen zur Erlösung der Seele von ihrer Hülle. Wer sich in der Sorge um sein leibliches Wohl allzusehr betätigt, hat nur zu erwarten, daß dieses von unsichtbarer Macht verringert wird.... daß sowohl der Leibeszustand als auch der Besitz irdischer Güter bedenklichen Erschütterungen ausgesetzt ist.... er hat zu erwarten, daß ihm sowohl das eine als auch das andere genommen wird, um auch ihn auf die eigentliche Aufgabe des Erdenlebens hinzuweisen und ihm die Vergänglichkeit alles Irdischen vor Augen zu führen. Während umgekehrt einem um das Seelenheil besorgten rührigen Erdenkind die Bedürfnisse des täglichen Lebens jederzeit zugehen werden, gleichwie vom Vater Selbst den Kindern geboten, auf daß sie der Sorge um diese enthoben sind und ihrer geistigen Arbeit ungestörter nachgehen können. Was der Mensch willig aufgibt, das wird ihm zugehen in reichem Maß, denn der Herr weiß um alles.... Er kennt auch die Bedürfnisse des Erdenkindes und will ihm das Leben erträglich machen, so es nur das erstrebt, was allein von Wichtigkeit ist.... Alle Bemühungen aber, die der Verbesserung des irdischen Lebens gelten, sind unnütz und können daher auch nicht die Zustimmung des himmlischen Vater finden.... im Gegenteil, sie hindern den Menschen an der Erfüllung der Aufgabe, die der eigentliche Zweck seiner Verkörperung auf Erden ist....

Taking care of your physical well-being....

The world with its demands is mostly satisfied and there are so many occasions when a person is far more concerned about that which is transient and completely worthless at the end of days. And yet people's activity should continue to be focussed solely on the salvation of their soul and the struggle for daily needs should only weigh them down to a very small extent and not be regarded as the most important thing in earthly life. For it is much easier to fulfil the requirements of the body on earth than those of the soul for eternity. After all, the greatest problem has to be solved in earthly life, it is about the liberation of the soul from the matter which has held it captive for thousands of years, it is about the final return to God, the bearer of all light, whereas the body only demands its external maintenance for a short time and this desire can be easily fulfilled with the right realization and the right attitude towards God. If the human being completes the school of the spirit in the right way, he is guaranteed to be able to expect the separation of the soul from the body well prepared for eternity, for he has then utilized the time on earth as it was his task and worked on the perfection of his soul of his own accord. The body, however, which God has given him for his earthly task, also receives the kindness and love of the heavenly father and provides him with everything necessary for life. And so worrying about it is completely unfounded; life on earth will also be far easier to bear if the state of the soul is constantly taken into account. However, this can only be considered extensively if little attention is paid to all worldly interests.... It is not possible to solve both such opposing problems at the same time.... The world with all its demands cannot be satisfied at the same time if the work on the soul to achieve the state of perfection is to progress.... Only one thing is completely possible, and therefore the human being must make a decision and can only ever be fully active in one direction. People consider so little that they have to give up everything earthly when the hour of death approaches them.... but that they can gather another treasure in their time on earth which is imperishable.... which cannot be taken from them in the face of death and which can turn death.... the parting from the world into a painless, liberated entry into eternity.... This alone should be an incentive for them to devote themselves more diligently to the actual activity during their physical life and to stifle all earthly desires, the thought of earthly care should be so far from their minds, yet every hour should seem important to them for the redemption of the soul from its shell. Anyone who worries too much about his physical well-being only has to expect that this will be reduced by an invisible power.... that both the state of the body and the possession of earthly goods will be exposed to alarming shocks.... he has to expect that both the one and the other will be taken from him in order to point him to the actual task of earthly life and to make him realize the transience of everything earthly. On the other hand, the needs of daily life will always be given to an active earthly child who is concerned about the salvation of his soul, just as the father Himself commands the children, so that they are relieved of worrying about them and can pursue their spiritual work undisturbed. What the human being willingly gives up will be given to him in abundance, for the lord knows about everything.... He also knows the needs of the earthly child and wants to make life bearable for it if it only strives for that which alone is of importance.... However, all endeavours aimed at improving earthly life are useless and therefore cannot meet with the approval of the heavenly father.... on the contrary, they prevent the human being from fulfilling the task which is the actual purpose of his embodiment on earth....
