Cucerirea de sine.... Voință întărită.... Lucrarea răscumpărătoare a lui Hristos....

Un mod de viață conform voinței lui Dumnezeu necesită o mare depășire de sine, deci o voință puternică. Cu toate acestea, ființa umană nu poate aduna singură puterea voinței, deoarece voința este adesea slăbită până la lipsa totală de voință din cauza păcatului primordial prin apostazia anterioară față de Dumnezeu [aici fraza este schimbată în manuscris după cum urmează (păcatul apostaziei anterioare)]. Cu toate acestea, omul poate dobândi puterea voinței prin rugăciunea sinceră către Iisus Hristos, Răscumpărătorul divin..... Acesta este mijlocul cel mai simplu, dar și cel mai sigur de a înfrunta toate pericolele, de a putea rezista și de a se învinge pe sine. Și cea mai slabă voință va deveni puternică, căci pentru aceasta a murit Iisus Hristos pe cruce.... Prin moartea Sa, El a cumpărat oamenilor o voință întărită, iar această voință întărită o poate cere oricine crede în El și în actul Său de mântuire. Păcatul de odinioară a purtat voința slăbită a omului.... Iisus Hristos a luat asupra Sa păcatele lumii și astfel și consecința păcatului.... voința slăbită. El a răscumpărat vina celor care recunosc jertfa Sa și, astfel, le redă voința întărită în virtutea căreia pot duce acum un mod de viață conform voinței lui Dumnezeu. Este un har pe care El l-a dobândit pentru oameni pe cruce și pe care oamenii nu-l pot înțelege, căci ceea ce zace neajutorat și slab pe Pământ se poate ridica și acum lucrează asupra sa plin de putere și tărie; voința Sa este puternică, iar o voință puternică este capabilă să facă orice.... Cu toate acestea, voința liberă rămâne neatinsă, căci harul actului de mântuire îi este acordat doar dacă își exprimă voința de a se înălța prin rugăciune sinceră către Iisus Hristos. Slăbiciunea voinței nu trebuie să îl împiedice să se străduiască spre Dumnezeu, doar că ființa umană nu poate aduna perseverența necesară pentru a face acest lucru. Și de aceea trebuie să apeleze la o voință puternică de dragul lui Iisus Hristos, iar apelul său va fi ascultat de îndată ce îl recunoaște pe Iisus Hristos. Și atunci va putea duce lupta împotriva lumii, care se exprimă prin depășirea de sine. El trebuie să renunțe la tot ceea ce aparține lumii, la ceea ce dorește trupul său, trebuie să se sacrifice, adică să dea aproapelui său, ceea ce îl face fericit pe el însuși, trebuie să se lase pe sine deoparte și să arate bunătate față de semenii săi, iar toate acestea necesită o depășire, necesită o voință puternică, care să pună în acțiune toate intențiile bune. Dar această voință puternică poate fi cerută în orice moment, iar această rugăciune nu va rămâne niciodată neauzită.....

Self-overcoming.... strengthened will.... Christ's act of salvation....

A way of life according to the will of God requires great overcoming of oneself, thus a strong will. However, man cannot muster the strength of will on his own, since the will is often weakened to the point of complete lack of will due to the original sin through the former apostasy from God [here the sentence is changed in the manuscript as follows (sin of the former apostasy)]. Nevertheless, man can acquire the strength of will through heartfelt prayer to Jesus Christ, the divine redeemer.... This is the simplest yet surest means to defy all dangers, to be able to resist and to overcome oneself. And the weakest will will become strong, for this is what Jesus Christ died for on the cross.... With His death He bought people a strengthened will, and everyone may request this strengthened will who believes in Him and His act of salvation. The former sin bore man's weakened will.... Jesus Christ took upon Himself the sins of the world and thus also the consequence of sin.... the weak will. He redeemed the guilt of those who acknowledge His sacrifice, and thus He restores to them the strengthened will by virtue of which they can now lead a way of life according to God's will. It is a grace which He acquired for people on the cross which people are unable to grasp, for what lies helpless and weak on the ground can rise up and now work on itself full of strength and power; His will is strong, and a strong will is able to do anything.... However, free will remains untouched, for the grace of the act of salvation is only granted to it if it expresses its will to ascend through heartfelt prayer to Jesus Christ. Weakness of will need not prevent him from striving towards God, it is just that the human being cannot muster the perseverance to do so. And therefore he should appeal for a strong will for the sake of Jesus Christ, and his appeal will be heard as soon as he acknowledges Jesus Christ. And then he will be able to wage the battle against the world, which is expressed in the overcoming of himself. He has to renounce everything that belongs to the world, what his body desires, he has to sacrifice, i.e. give to his neighbour, what makes him happy, he has to put himself aside and do kindness to his fellow human beings, and all this requires overcoming, it requires a strong will which puts all good intentions into action. But this strong will can be requested at any time, and this prayer will never go unanswered....
