이 땅에서 영적 보물을 모으라는 권고.

영적인 재물의 부유함은 아무리 갈망해도 충분하지 않다. 왜냐면 혼이 세상적으로 소유한 모든 것을 뒤에 두고, 단지 영적인 부가 유일하게 쇠하지 않기 때문에 인정을 받는 영의 영역에 거할 때, 영적인 부가 유일하게 저 세상의 축복을 주기 때문이다. 너희는 이 땅에서 영적인 부를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 항상 단지 세상의 부를 무시할 때 가능하다. 왜냐면 영적인 부와 세상적인 부, 두가지를 동시에 너희에게 줄 수 없기 때문이다.

너희는 두 주인이 너희에게 그들의 재물을 제공하지만, 그러나 재물들은 재물을 주려는 주인에 따라 완전히 반대가 된다는 것을 알아야만 한다. 두 주신이 너희를 끌어들이기 원하는 서로 다른 영역이 있다. 두 영역은 서로 멀리 떨어져 있고, 너희가 누구에게 우선권을 줄지 정해야만 한다. 그러므로 두 주인이 재물로 너희를 유혹한다. 그러나 그들 중 하나는 헛된 것인 반면에 다른 하나는 영원히 남는다. 너희가 결정에 직면했을 때, 너희는 이를 고려해야 한다.

너희는 단지 일시적으로 행복하기를 원하느냐? 아니면 영원한 행복을 찾느냐? 그러면 너희가 단지 영원한 창조주 아버지를 고백하면, 쇠하지 않는 보물을 주기 원하는 영원한 창조주 아버지를 택해야만 한다. 그는 너희가 곤경에 처하지 않도록 너희에게 풍성하게 주고, 너희가 궁핍함으로 고난을 당할 필요가 없다. 너희가 먼저 영적인 은사를 원하면, 그는 또한 너희의 몸을 유지하기 위해 필요한 쇠하는 재물을 너희에게 줄 것이다.

그러나 너희가 대적자가 너희에게 제공하는 재물에 눈이 먼 동안에는 너희는 영적인 선물의 온화한 광채를 보지 못한다. 그러므로 너희는 대적자를 떠나야만 하고, 영원한 창조주 아버지가 너희에게 제공하는 세상의 필요를 충족시키는 것으로 만족해야 하고, 이로써 너희는 이 땅에서 살면서 영적인 부를 얻을 수 있게 되야 한다. 그러나 그가 너희의 영적인 행복과 육체적인 행복에 관심이 있는 너희의 아버지이지만, 그러나 너희를 망칠 수 있는 것이 비록 너희의 이 땅의 삶에서 너희에게 없어서는 안될 것으로 보일지라도 절대로 너희에게 주지 않을 것이다. 이런 재물은 외부에서 너희에게 달라 붙고, 영의 양식을 주기 원하는 존재들이 혼에게 접근하는 일을 차단한다.

먼저 하나님의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라. 그러면 그 외에 모든 것이 너희에게 주어질 것이다. 너희가 하나님의 나라를 대적자의 나라인 세상에서 찾으면, 너희는 절대로 하나님의 나라를 찾을 수 없다. 너희는 세상의 재물로 모은 모든 것을 잃게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 어떤 세상의 재물도 영원에까지 너희를 뒤따를 수 없기 때문이다. 그러나 영적인 재물은 더 이상 너희에게서 빼앗을 수 없고, 영원까지 너희를 뒤따르고, 혼의 소유이고, 혼이 영적인 재물을 영원까지 가지고 간다.

그러므로 너희가 이 땅에서 영적인 보물을 얻고, 영의 나라에서 말할 수 없는 축복을 의미하는 부를 얻으라고 아무리 큰 소리로 훈계해도 충분할 수 없다. 비록 너희가 영적인 부를, 사랑이 너희 자신을 그렇게 행하도록 이끌기 때문에, 너희가 긍휼히 충만한 사랑을 행하기 원하는 필요한 사람들에게 계속하여 줄지라도, 이런 부는 지속적으로 증가될 것이다. 너희는 이 땅에서 이런 부를 얻으라. 이로써 너희가 헛된 삶을 살지 않게 하라. 너희에게 좋은 선물을 주는 주님을 택하라. 주님의 무한한 사랑이 너희에게 주는 것을 그의 손에서 받고, 가난하고 너희의 도움이 필요한 모든 사람들을 행복하게 하라.

Exhortation to gather spiritual treasures on earth....

The wealth of spiritual good cannot be desired enough, for it alone creates beatitude in the kingdom of the beyond when the soul has discarded everything it possessed on earth, when it dwells in the spiritual realm where only spiritual good is of value because it alone is imperishable. You can acquire this wealth on earth but only if you ignore earthly wealth, because you cannot be granted both at the same time. You must know that two masters offer you their goods but that the goods are completely opposite as well as the masters who want to distribute them. Both have a different sphere into which they want to draw you.... and both areas are far apart so that you will have to decide which one you prefer. That is why both lords entice you with their goods.... but one of them is transient while the other lasts forever.... You should consider this when you are confronted with the decision.... Do you only want temporary happiness? Or do you seek eternal happiness? Then you must also choose the father and creator of eternity, Who wants to provide you with everlasting treasures if only you confess Him. He will give you plenty so that you need not suffer any lack, and He will also provide you with the perishable goods which you need to maintain your body, as soon as you first desire the spiritual gifts. But as long as your eyes are blinded by the treasures His adversary offers you, you will not see the mild splendour of the spiritual gifts. Therefore you must turn away from them and be content with the fulfilment of earthly needs, which the father and creator of eternity assures you, so that you will live on earth and not become incapable of acquiring spiritual wealth. For He is truly your father Who cares for your spiritual and physical well-being but Who will never give you goods which are perishable for you, even if they seem indispensable to you during your earthly lifetime. They only cling to you from the outside and yet block the access to the soul for those who would like to provide them with spiritual nourishment. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, everything else will be granted to you.... But you will never be able to find the kingdom of God if you seek it in the world, which is the kingdom of His adversary.... And you will lose everything you have gathered in earthly possessions, for none of it will follow you into eternity. But the spiritual possessions can no longer be taken away from you, they will follow you into eternity, they are the soul's share which it will take with it into eternity....

And therefore it cannot be presented to you loudly and admonishingly enough that you should acquire spiritual treasures on earth, that you should create wealth for yourselves which signifies an inconceivable blessing in the spiritual kingdom.... a wealth which will always increase, although you use it to constantly distribute, to give to the needy, to whom you want to practice merciful neighbourly love because you yourselves are driven to do so by love. Acquire this wealth on earth so that you will not have lived in vain.... Decide in favour of the lord, Who offers you good gifts, receive from His hand what His infinite love offers you and make all those happy who are poor and need your help....
