세상적인 사람들. 세상적인 것의 허무함. 변화.

세상을 향한 열광 속에서 사람들이 모든 신적이고 영적인 것에 대한 느낌을 잃었다. 감각을 넘어서는 모든 일은 그들에게 비현실적인 일이고, 허황된 상상이고 병적인 자기 암시이다. 내 종들이 그들을 올바르게 가르치기 원하면, 내 종들은 적게 성공할 수 있다. 두가지의 세계가 서로 대응하고 있고, 한 세계의 주민이 다른 세계에서 적응하기가 어렵다. 그러나 세상 사람들에게는 확실한 증거를 줄 수 없기 때문에, 그들은 모든 영적인 것을 진지하게 여길 수 없는 허황된 것으로 여기고 거부한다.

그러므로 그들에게 나에게 나온 복음을 전하는 일이 어렵다. 복음은 나에게 증거하고 내 사랑의 가르침을 담고 있다. 그러나 세상의 사람들은 내 뜻과 내 사랑의 계명을 이해하지 못하는 자기 중심의 사람들이다. 그러므로 그들은 내 종들이 그들에게 가장 귀한 선물을 줄 때, 그들은 어떤 것도 영접하기를 원하지 않게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 그들이 귀한 선물의 가치를 깨닫지 못하기 때문이다. 그럴지라도 그들은 내 피조물이고, 나는 너무 늦기 전에 그들을 돕기를 원한다. 그러나 그들이 세상을 경배하는 동안에는 그들은 아직 내 대적자에게 속해 있다. 그러나 그들이 내 대적자로부터 자신을 자유롭게 만드는 일은 자유의지로 해야 하는 일이다. 이 일은 어려운 일이지만 그러나 불가능한 일은 아니다. 왜냐면 다가오는 환란이 그들에게 세상적인 것이 일시적인 것임을 분명하게 보여주고, 그들이 단지 진지하게 원한다면, 이런 일이 그들을 깨달음으로 인도할 수 있기 때문이다.

내 대적자는 사람들이 온갖 파괴하는 일을 하도록 이끌고, 그는 이를 통해 묶임을 받은 영적인 존재를 물질로부터 해방시켜 위로 성장할 수 없게 만들기를 원한다. 그러나 그는 무의식적으로 많은 추종자들이 깨어나게 하는 일에 기여를 하고, 세상이 일시적인 것임을 깨닫게 하는 일에 기여를 한다. 깨달음이 의지의 변화를 일으킬 수 있고, 사람들이 대부분 추구하는 것이 무상한 것임을 깨달으면, 어떤 불멸한 것을 구하고 찾을 수 있다. 그러면 내 대적자의 역사가 심지어 성공을 돕고, 나를 떠난 사람이 나에게 돌아온다. 그러나 세상은 세상의 추종자들을 단지 희귀하게 포기한다. 왜냐면 대부분의 사람들이 내 대적자의 말을 듣고, 내 대적자가 세상 재물로 끊임없이 사람들을 유혹하기 때문이다.

그러나 나도 또한 세상의 자녀들을 나 자신을 위해 얻으려고 노력한다. 그러므로 사람들이 자주 아주 민감한 고난을 맞이하게 한다. 이로써 사람들이 이런 고난 가운데 모든 것이 사라지고 공허하고, 단지 영적인 세계에 속한 것이 남는다는 것을 깨달을 수 있게 한다. 그러므로 이 땅의 내 종들은 가능한 곳에서 세상 사람들에게도 영향을 미쳐야 한다. 왜냐면 그들이 들은 것을 거부할지라도 그들이 들은 내용이 어느 정도 남아 있고, 다가오는 때에 그들이 내 일꾼에게 들었지만 거부했던 말이 다시 살아나게 될 것이고, 그들 안에 작은 빛이 빛나는 것처럼 될 것이고, 그들이 올바른 자세를 갖는다면, 빛나는 화염으로 성장할 수 있기 때문이다. 왜냐면 시대가 시대에 합당한 일을 행할 것이기 때문이다. 고난이 사람을 내 나라를 위해 얻기 위한 내 계획이라면 어느 누구도 이런 고난을 피할 수 없게 된다. 그러나 사람의 의지는 자유한 가운데 머물고, 사람의 의지에 따라 언젠가 영원 가운데 그의 운명이 정해질 것이다.

World people.... transience of the earthly.... conversion....

In the frenzy of worldly pleasure people lose all feeling for the divine-spiritual; for them everything supersensible is unreal, imagination and pathological self-suggestion, and therefore little success can be achieved with them if My servants want to instruct them correctly. There are two worlds facing each other, and the inhabitants of one world can hardly find their way in the other world. But since no tangible proof can be given to the worldly people, they reject everything spiritual as dream images which are not to be taken seriously. Therefore it is also difficult to preach the gospel to them which originated from Me, which testifies to Me and contains My teaching of love. For worldly people are egotists who have no understanding for My will, for My commandment of love. Hence they will not want to accept anything if My servants offer them a delicious gift, for they do not recognize its value. And yet, they are also My living creations whom I would like to help before it is too late.... However, as long as they pay homage to the world they still belong to My adversary.... but whether they will be able to detach themselves from him is a matter of free will, it is doubtful but not impossible, because the coming adversity will make them aware of the transience of earthly things and this can lead to realization if only they seriously want to do so.

My adversary drives people to works of destruction of all kinds.... He thereby wants to release the bound spiritual from matter so that it cannot develop upwards. However, he thereby unconsciously contributes to many of his followers becoming awake and recognizing the transitoriness of earthly things. And a recognition can lead to a change of will, a recognition of the impermanence of what people mostly strive for can lead to seeking and gaining something imperishable. Then even My adversary's activity will have become a success and the human being will find his way back to Me from Whom he had distanced himself. But the world rarely gives its followers away because most of them are also in bondage to My adversary who constantly lures them with the goods of the world. Yet I also try to win the children of the world for Myself and therefore often have to inflict very severe hardship on people in which they can come to realize that everything passes away and is void and that only that which belongs to the spiritual world endures.

For this reason My servants on earth shall also influence worldly people wherever possible, for what they hear will more or less remain in them even if they reject it, and the coming time will revive many a word which they heard from My messengers but rejected. It will shine like a little light in them and, if they take the right attitude, can still grow into a bright flame, for time itself will do its part. No human being can escape adversity if it is My plan to win him for My kingdom. Yet his will remains free, and his fate will also correspond to it one day in eternity....
