예수 그리스도를 통한 죽음의 극복.

세상은 죄로부터 구속되었다. 사람들이 이런 큰 은혜를 의식하게 되면, 그들은 기뻐하고 환호해야만 할 것이다. 사람들이 이 은혜를 활용한다면, 즉 예수 그리스도를 통한 구속역사를 믿는 믿음으로 죄의 용서를 구한다면, 이 은혜가 말할 수 없게 어려운 운명을 피하게 해준다. 예수 그리스도는 이 땅과 영의 나라에 있는 모든 존재들에게 아주 중요한 구속사역을 완성했다. 사람들은 이런 구속역사에 대해 거의 주목하지 않고, 이해할 수 없는 은혜를 활용하지 않는다.

예수님은 이웃 사람을 향한 사랑으로 자신을 십자가에 못박히게 했고 사흘 만에 죽음에서 부활했고, 죽음을 이겼다. 그는 그의 사랑이 사람들을 위해 드린 희생을 모든 사람이 누리기를 원했다. 그는 또한 사람들이 죽음을 극복하고, 죽음을 더 이상 두려워할 필요가 없게 되고, 영원한 생명에 들어갈 수 있게 되기를 원했다. 왜냐면 그가 구속역사를 통해 장벽을 허 물었기 때문이다. 인간이 이 땅에 거하는 동안에는 구속역사를 통해 장벽을 허물은 일의 의미를 충분히 파악할 수 없다.

그는 죽음을 극복했고, 그러므로 묶임이 풀어지게 되었다. 한때 하나님께 반역한 죄로 인해 자유롭지 못한 사람들의 의지는 대적자의 영향력 아래 있었고, 대적자로부터 자유롭게 될 수 없었다. 예수님이 이웃 사람들을 위해 성취한 구속역사 때문에 사람들이 예수 그리스도께 모든 필요한 도움을 청하면, 사람들은 이제 그리스도의 십자가 죽음을 통해 하나님의 대적자로부터 벗어날 수 있게 되었다. 그러므로 예수님이 자신을 믿고 따르고, 사랑을 행하기 위해 노력하고, 그리스도의 계명을 성취하기 위해 노력하는 모든 사람을 위한 하나님의 중보자다. 그러면 이런 사람은 하나님이 이 땅에 존재하는 동안 자신에게 준 해야할 일을 행하고, 이로써 그는 자신을 죽음의 묶임에서 해방시킨다. 왜냐면 하나님의 대적자의 말을 듣는 일은 그의 혼이 확실하게 죽은 것을 의미하기 때문이다.

예수님은 죽음을 극복했다. 그는 인간이었고 또한 인간으로써 죽었다. 비록 그가 하나님의 영으로 충만했고 또한 그의 무한한 능력으로 인해 그가 선택한 가장 끔찍한 죽음을 자신이 피할 수 있었다. 그는 인간으로서 하나님께 제사를 드렸고, 자신을 생각하지 않고 이웃 사람의 고난과 죄짐을 생각하고, 죄의 결과이고, 죄의 결과였던 그들의 운명을 쉽게 해주기 원하는 일을 통해 자신의 대적자를 극복했다. 하나님은 희생을 받아들였고, 중보자로써 예수님을 부르고, 그의 은혜와 중보를 구하는 사람의 죄를 용서한다. 희생제사를 영접하고 죄사함을 받는 일이 영원한 생명으로 깨어나는 일을 보장한다. 그러므로 더 이상 죽음이 없게 된다. 왜냐면 육신의 죽음 후에 혼이 영원한 생명을 위해 빛의 나라에 들어가기 때문이다. 그러나 단지 예수님을 인정하고, 예수님을 하나님의 아들이요 세상의 구세주로 믿는 사람의 혼이 영원한 생명을 위해 빛의 나라에 들어간다.

이제 죽음을 극복한 사람들은 주님이 이런 역사를 완성했다는 것으로 승리해야 한다. 왜냐면 죽음이 이제 죽음의 공포를 잃었기 때문이고, 영의 나라에서 깨어남이 일어났기 때문이다. 왜냐면 사람이 자신을 하나님의 구세주께 드리고, 그의 도움을 구하고, 의지를 강하게 해주기를 구하고, 구속역사의 은혜를 받기를 구하고, 인간 자신이 한때 타락한 영적인 존재로써 지었던 죄에 대한 용서를 구하면, 하나님의 대적자가 그에 대한 권세를 더 이상 갖지 못하기 때문이다. 그는 예수 그리스도를 통해 이런 죄로부터 사함을 받았다. 그러므로 사람이 행할 수 있는 가장 어려운 일을 이룬 인간 예수의 사랑을 의식하게 되면, 그는 기뻐하고 환호해야 한다.

Overcoming death through Jesus Christ....

The world has been redeemed from sin. People should rejoice and exult if they were aware of this great grace which spares them an unspeakably difficult fate in the beyond if they make use of it, that is, if they ask for forgiveness of the guilt of sin by believing in the redemption through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ accomplished the act of salvation, which is so significant for all beings on earth and in the spiritual kingdom, and people take so little notice of it and do not value this inconceivable grace.... Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified out of love for His fellow human beings and rose again from the dead on the third day.... He overcame death and wanted all people to share in the sacrifice which His love offered for people, He wanted them to become conquerors of death too, so that they no longer needed to fear death and could therefore enter eternal life because He broke down the barriers through the act of salvation, the full significance of which cannot be grasped as long as man remains on earth. He has overcome death.... and thereby a spell has been broken.... People who were unfree due to the past sin of rebellion against God, whose will was under the influence of His adversary and who were unable to free themselves from him, are now able to free themselves from God's adversary through Christ's crucifixion if they call upon Jesus Christ for help in every adversity for the sake of the act of salvation which the man Jesus accomplished for His fellow human beings. Thus Jesus is God's intercessor for all those who believe in Him and strive to live as followers of Christ, i.e. to be loving and to fulfil His commandments. Then he does what God has given him to do during his earthly existence, then he frees himself from the bonds of death, for to be in bondage to God's adversary is the certain death of his soul. Jesus overcame death.... He was a human being and also died as a human being, although He was filled with the spirit of God and was also able to avert the most bitter death, which He had chosen Himself, by virtue of His unlimited power. He offered the sacrifice to God as a human being and thereby overcame His adversary by selflessly only thinking of His fellow human beings' suffering and guilt of sin and wanting to ease their fate, which is and was the result of sin. And God accepted the sacrifice.... He forgives the guilt of those who call upon Jesus as mediator for His grace and intercession. But accepting the sacrifice and forgiving the guilt of sin secures the awakening to life in eternity.... Thus there is no longer death, for after bodily death the soul enters the kingdom of light for eternal life. But only the souls of those who acknowledge Him, who believe in Him as the son of God and redeemer of the world.... People should be triumphant that death has now been overcome and that Jesus has accomplished this work, for now death has lost its terror because there is an awakening in the spiritual kingdom, because God's adversary no longer has power over the human being if he surrenders himself to the divine redeemer and appeals for His help, for strengthening of the will and the graces of the work of salvation.... for the forgiveness of the guilt of sin which the human being brought with him as an inheritance of the once fallen spiritual, to which he himself belongs.... He is redeemed from this sin through Jesus Christ, and he should rejoice and be glad when he considers the love of the man Jesus, who accomplished the most difficult thing on earth of which a human being was ever capable....
