두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에.

나는 내 교회의 한가운데 거한다. 즉 나를 믿고, 나와 생명력이 있는 연결을 이루고, 이웃 사랑을 행함으로 나와 연결을 이루고, 이로써 나로부터 생명이 깨어나게 하는 힘을 받는 사람들 가운데 거한다. 이런 삶은 영적인 삶을 의미한다. 그러므로 영적인 추구를 위해 함께 모인 사람들 가운데 내가 거한다. 나의 약속은 다음과 같다: "두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 그들 중에 있느니라." 그러나 내 이름으로 라는 말은 무슨 뜻이냐? 언제 그들이 나의 임재를 누릴 수 있느냐? 그러나 특정한 장소가 그들에게 나의 임재를 보장하지 않고, 그들이 나를 모범으로 삼아야만 한다. 즉 사람들이 예수를 따르는 삶을 살아야만 하고, 이런 추구 가운데 나를 기억하고, 기도하는 가운데 나로부터 힘을 얻기 위해 모여야만 한다. 그러면 그들은 생각으로 나와 연결을 이루고 이제 예수가 구한 것과 같은 것을 구할 수 있고, 모든 위험 가운데 응답을 받게 될 것이다.

나는 그들 가까이에 거한다. 왜냐면 나를 따르려는 그들의 추구가 나를 끌어드리고, 그들은 나에게 속하려는 목표를 가지고 있고, 그들의 삶의 방식이 내 뜻에 합당하기 때문이다. 그들은 내가 보낸 것을 전적으로 모두 확신해야만 하고, 이 땅에서 살았던 하나님의 구세주를 내 안에서 깨달아야만 한다. 그들은 또한 마찬가지로 예수를 거룩한 하나님으로 깨달아야만 한다. 그러므로 그들은 예수를 하나님으로 불러야만 한다. 그들에게 내 이름이 거룩해야만 하고, 그들은 내 이름 때문에 그들의 기도에 대한 응답을 항상 기대해야만 한다.

사람들은 내 이름의 힘을 믿어야만 한다. 너희가 내 이름을 믿음으로 말하고, 나를 생각하면, 내 이름이 너희에게 나 자신이 너희 가운데 거한다는 보장을 한다. 내 이름 때문에 내가 너희에게 모든 기도가 성취될 것을 보장해 주었다. 깊은 믿음으로 전적인 열심으로 내 이름을 부르는 사람에게 나는 임재한다. 그러므로 나를 믿는 믿음으로 서로 모여, 나와 나의 나라를 위해 함께 일하기 원하는 사람들이 있는 곳에 내가 항상 함께 할 것이다. 그들에게는 절대로 힘이 부족하게 되지 않을 것이다. 왜냐면 나의 임재는 항상 힘을 갈망하는 모든 사람에게 힘의 공급을 의미하기 때문이다.

"Where two or three in My name....“

I am in the midst of My congregation, i.e. of those who believe in Me and are in living contact with Me, who have entered into this connection with Me through works of neighbourly love and thus draw life-awakening strength from Me.... Spiritual life is meant by this, and thus I am in the midst of those who come together in spiritual striving. "Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them...." Thus is My promise.... but what does it mean: in My name? When can they lay claim to My presence, for it is not a specific place which guarantees them this presence but people have to be in a state which corresponds to My way of life on earth, they have to take Me as their example and thus live 'following Jesus' and in this endeavour gather together to remember Me and to draw strength from Me in prayer. Then they will be mentally united with Me and can ask for the same things Jesus asked for, and they will find an answer in every adversity. I Myself am close to them, for their striving to follow Me attracts Me; they have the aim of belonging to Me and their way of life will then correspond to My will. They must be fully convinced of My mission, they must see in Me the divine redeemer Who lived on earth, but they must also recognize the deity in Jesus and thus call upon Him as God. And My name must be sacred to them and for the sake of My name they must also always expect their prayer to be answered.... People must believe in the power of My name which guarantees that I Myself am amongst you if you faithfully pronounce it and remember Me. For the sake of My name I have assured you the fulfilment of every request. I am present to anyone who is deeply devout and speaks My name with fervour, and thus I will always be where people are together who have found each other in faith in Me and also want to work together for Me and My kingdom.... They will never lack strength because My presence always means the supply of strength for all who desire strength....
