세상을 이기는 일.

세상을 향한 성향은 영적 재물의 공급을 감소시킨다. 그러므로 세상적인 생각을 가진 사람들이 영적인 선물을 주는 사람들과 적게 접촉하고, 그들은 영의 나라로부터 멀리 떨어져 있고, 영의 나라의 사자들이 그들에게 다가가면, 그들은 영의 나라의 사자들을 깨닫지 못한다. 왜냐면 하나님이 사람들을 만나게 하고, 이 땅의 자신을 섬기는 종을 하나님의 말씀을 자원하여 받아들이려는 사람들에게, 그들의 뜻이 완전히 영의 나라를 떠나 세상으로 향하지 않았기 때문에 영의 나라 후보자로써 자격이 있는 사람들에게 인도하기 때문이다. 그들은 절대로 하나님의 말씀을 받아들이도록 강요받지 않고, 영적인 은사를 영적인 은사로 깨닫고 자발적으로 영적인 은사에 자신을 열어야만 한다. 그들은 세상을 경멸하는 사람으로써 또한 하나님의 계시의 가치를 깨닫고, 하나님의 계시에 그들의 심장을 연다.

반면에 세상적인 사람도 또한 하나님의 계시에 주목할 기회를 갖게 될 것이지만, 그러나 그의 감각은 그를 만지는 하나님의 숨결을 느끼지 못하고, 그는 무관심하거나 또는 가차 없이 거절한다. 왜냐면 세상이 그에게 더 가치 있는 것을 제공하는 것처럼 보이기 때문이다. 이로써 저세상에서 자신의 혼의 모든 부의 내용이 될 가치가 큰 선물에 주의를 기울이지 않는다. 왜냐면 단지 영적인 눈과 귀가 무언가를 보고 들을 수 있고, 그러나 영적인 눈과 귀가 세상 사람들에게는 전혀 훈련이 되지 않았기 때문이다. 저세상에서 무지는 전적인 어두움으로 역사하고, 이 어두움은 혼에게 고통이 큰 운명을 의미한다.

영을 추구하는 사람들은 영적인 은사에 대한 예리한 눈과 귀가 있고 기원을 느낀다. 왜냐면 하나님의 영적인 존재가 그들의 혼을 행복하게 해주고, 이로써 그들이 하나님의 종들을 영의 나라의 사절로 인정하고 그들의 선물을 감사하게 받아들인다. 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님의 말씀의 대리자들은 또한 이 땅에서 하나님의 말씀을 전해야 한다. 그들은 항상 또 다시 비록 그들이 자주 거절을 당하고 적은 성공을 할 수 있기 때문에 인내와 사랑이 필요한 일임에도 불구하고 세상 사람들을 얻기 위해 노력해야 한다.

그러나 세상이 항상 사람을 완전히 만족시키지 못하고, 모든 사람이 영의 나라의 계시에 열려 있는 상황에 처하게 된다. 이런 기회를 활용해야만 한다. 이로써 그들이 세상적인 고난의 때에 자신의 의지를 바꾸는 결정을 해야 한다. 왜냐면 고난의 때가 그들에게 임하기 때문이다. 왜냐면 하나님이 모든 사람에게 접근하고, 자신의 피조물을 그들의 운명에 맡기지 않고, 항상 또 다시 그들의 혼에 영향을 미치려고 노력하기 때문이다.

영의 나라로 향한 의지와 생각의 사소한 움직임도 영적인 가르침을 받을 기회를 증가시킨다. 하나님이 각 사람을 존중하고, 모든 사람에게 자신의 소망에 따라 돕기 때문이다. 그러나 그는 영적인 은사의 가치를 온전히 측량할 수 있기 위해 세상을 극복해야만 한다. 모든 영적인 존재는 사람의 영에 의해 붙잡힘을 받기를 원하지만 그러나 세상이 사람들을 포로로 잡고 있는 곳에서 영적인 존재들은 잠들어 있다. 영이 자유롭게 되고, 영이 깨어나는 일은 세상적인 것을 희생하고, 영의 진정한 고향인 영의 나라를 향한 갈망을 요구한다. 그러므로 하나님의 나라로 가까이 가기를 원하는 사람은 세상을 경멸하는 법을 배워야만 한다.

Overcoming the world....

The inclination towards the world reduces the influx of spiritual goods, and therefore worldly-minded people will come into less contact with donors of spiritual gifts, they will be too distant from the spiritual kingdom and not recognize its emissaries if they approach it. For God brings people together, He brings His servants on earth to those who are willing to accept the word of God, who come into question as aspirants of the spiritual kingdom through their will which is not completely turned away and turned towards the world. They are by no means forced to accept the divine word but they must recognize the spiritual gifts as such and open themselves to them voluntarily. As despisers of the world they also recognize the value of divine revelations and open their hearts to them. The worldly person, on the other hand, will also have the opportunity to take notice of them, yet his senses feel nothing of the divine breath which touches him, and indifferently or abruptly he rejects them because the world seems to offer him more valuable things. And thus valuable gifts remain unnoticed on earth which make up his soul's entire wealth in the beyond, for only the spiritual eye and ear sees and hears something, but these are completely undeveloped in worldly people, and in the beyond this ignorance takes effect as complete darkness which means an agonizing fate for the soul. Spiritually striving people have a sensitive eye and ear for spiritual gifts, they sense the origin, for the divine-spiritual touches their souls beneficially, and therefore God's servants are recognized by them as emissaries of the spiritual kingdom and their gifts are gratefully received. Nevertheless, the representatives of the divine word should also carry it out into the world, they should again and again try to win over worldly people as well, even though this is work which requires patience and love because they are often rejected and have little success. But the world does not always completely satisfy people, and every person comes into situations where he is receptive for a communication from the spiritual kingdom. And these opportunities should be taken advantage of so that they will still decide to change their will in times of earthly adversity. For this approaches all people because God does not leave any of His living creations to their fate but again and again tries to gain influence over their souls. The slightest stirring of the will and thoughts turned towards the spiritual kingdom also increase the opportunities to receive spiritual communication, for God takes care of them and considers everyone according to his desire. But the world has to be overcome in order to fully appreciate the value of spiritual gifts. Everything spiritual wants to be grasped by the spirit in the human being, but the spirit slumbers where the world still holds the human being captive.... The release of the spirit, its awakening, requires surrender of what is worldly earthly and desire for the spiritual kingdom, the actual home of the spirit. And that is why he who desires to approach the kingdom of God must learn to despise the world....
