교육자의 책임. 진리를 향한 사랑.

양육하는 직분을 수행하는 사람이 자신에게 맡겨진 혼들을 오류에 빠지게 하는 일이 그가 엄청난 책임을 져야만 하게 만든다. 그가 가르치는 일을 행하면, 그는 또한 자신이 가르치는 내용을 완전히 확신해야 한다. 그렇지 않으면 자신의 지식을 이웃 사람에게 전달할 수 없다. 이는 특히 영적인 일과 관련된, 다시 말해 혼을 양육시켜야 하는 가르침에 해당된다. 그가 이런 가르침이 진리임을 확신한다면, 그는 또한 자신의 확신을 대변할 권리가 있다. 그러나 확신을 갖기 위해 그는 진리 안에 서려는 전적인 의지를 가지고, 자신이 가르침을 깊이 생각하고, 가르침에 대한 입장을 취해야만 한다. 그러면 그는 또한 그의 가르치는 직분에 대한 책임을 하나님 앞에서 질 수 있게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 그가 가르치는 직분을 행사할 때 자신이 아는 최선의 지식을 따라 행하기 때문이다.

그러나 그가 지식이 진리임을 완전히 확신하지 못한 채, 자신이 받은 대로 단지 지식을 전하면, 그는 자신에게 맡겨진 사람들의 왜곡된 생각에 대해 책임을 져야만 하게 만든다. 왜냐면 그가 어떤 면에서 진리와 아주 거리가 멀 수 있는 지식을 전할 수 있기 때문이다. 그러나 그는 그런 지식을 감시해야만 하는 과제를 가지고 있다. 그는 오류나 선명하지 않기 때문에 생각을 단지 혼란스럽게 하는 가르침으로부터 그들을 보호해야만 한다. 왜냐면 이런 일이 그가 양심적으로 관리해야 할 그의 직분이기 때문이다. 그러나 그가 하나님을 자신의 도피처로 삼는다면, 이로써 그가 하나님께 보호해줄 것과 도움을 청한다면, 다시 말해 하나님께 자신에게 맡겨진 사람들의 혼들을 오류나 잘못된 생각으로부터 보호해주기를 의탁한다면, 그는 안심하고 자신의 직분을 수행할 수 있다.

그는 자신의 책임을 의식해야만 하고, 순수한 진리를 대변하기를 원해야만 한다. 그러면 하나님은 그의 의지와 그의 깨달을 수 있는 능력을 강하게 할 것이고, 그는 단지 자신이 완전히 인정할 수 있는 것을, 이로써 그가 진리로 인정하는 것만을 전하게 될 것이다. 그러므로 하나님과 긴밀하게 연결을 이루고, 도움과 축복을 구하는 일이 가르치는 사람에게 특별하게 중요한 이유이다. 왜냐면 하나님의 은혜가 그가 하는 일을 축복하지 않는다면, 하나님이 그에게 그가 진리 안에 거하는지, 언제 진리 안에 거하게 됐는지 전적인 깨달음을 주지 않는다면, 그의 혼의 구원뿐만 아니라, 자신에게 맡겨진 학생들의 구원도 위험해지기 때문이다. 왜냐면 그가 언젠가 책임을 져야만 하고, 그가 진리를 선포해야 할 혼들에 대한 책임을 그에게 물을 것이기 때문이다.

Responsibility of educators.... love of truth....

The person who exercises an educational ministry and leads the souls entrusted to him astray bears a tremendous responsibility. As soon as he is active as a teacher, he must also be completely convinced of what he is teaching, otherwise he must not transfer his knowledge to others. This is especially true for teachings that relate to spiritual matters, i.e. that are intended to educate the soul. If he is convinced of the truth of these teachings, then he also has the right to defend his conviction. However, in order to be convinced, he must have thought through the teachings himself and taken a stand on them with the full will to stand in the truth. Then he will also be able to justify his educational ministry before God, because he is now acting to the best of his knowledge when he fulfils this ministry. However, as soon as he only passes on knowledge that he himself has received in exactly the same way without being fully convinced of the truth of it, he is guilty of the educated thinking of the people entrusted to him, for he is, as it were, imposing knowledge on them that may be far removed from the truth. But he has the task of watching over their knowledge, he must protect them from error or from teachings that are so unclear that they only confuse their thinking, for this is his office, which he is to administer conscientiously. But he can fulfil his office with peace of mind if he takes refuge in God, if he asks Him for enlightenment and His help, thus entrusting the souls of the people entrusted to him to God so that He may protect them from error or wrong thinking. He must be aware of his responsibility and only want to represent the pure truth, then God will also strengthen his will and his power of realization, and he will only pass on what he can fully affirm, what is therefore regarded by him as truth. And that is why it is of particular importance for a teacher that he intimately connects himself with God and asks Him for His help and blessing, because not only his salvation but also that of the pupils entrusted to him is in danger if divine grace does not make his activity a blessed one, if God does not give him the fullest realization as to whether and when he is in the truth. For one day he will have to answer for himself and he will be called to account for the souls to whom he should proclaim the truth....
