자유로운 존재와 자유롭지 못한 존재의 시간과 공간에 대한 개념.

영원의 기간 동안 어떤 성장 과정에서, 즉 어느 구원의 시대에 영적인 존재가 이 땅에 육신을 입는 지는 의미가 없다. 왜냐하면 영전 전과 영원 후의 시간이 너무 길어서, 묶임을 받는 기간은 눈깜짝할 순간으로 평가할 수 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이는 영적인 존재 자신에게 중요하지 않은 것이 아니다. 왜냐하면 영적인 존재가 억압적인 겉형체에서 빨리 해방이 될수록, 그에게 영의 나라의 영광이 더 빨리 열릴 것이기 때문이다. 그러므로 존재가 전에는 부정적인 세력에 속했지만, 이제 긍정적인 세력이 되고, 존재가 자유롭게 되는 시간을 아무리 진지하게 추구해도 충분하게 추구할 수 없다.

존재는 상상할 수 없을 정도로 오랫동안 하나님께 대항했지만, 존재는 이제 영원에 영원한 기간을 걸쳐 하나님을 위해, 하나님과 함께 일한다. 그러나 영적인 존재가 묶여 있는 한, 존재는 자신이 자유롭지 못한 것을 느끼고, 고통을 겪는다. 게다가 또한 이 기간 동안은, 나중에 영원 가운데 자유로운 존재로써 갖는 것과는 다른, 시간과 공간에 대한 개념이 있다. 이런 속박의 기간은 그에게 참을 수 없을 정도로 길어 보이고, 이런 시간 감각은 동시에 영적인 자유를 향한 갈망을 강하게 하기 위해 하나님이 허용하는 일이다.

그러므로 존재가 언제 이 땅에서 육신을 입는 지는 의미가 없다. 존재는 항상 이 기간을 극도로 오래 느끼고, 이 가운데 고통을 받을 것이다. 그러나 나중에는 빛의 존재로서 그에게 지나간 순간처럼 보인다. 그러나 저세상의 온전하지 못한 존재는 아직 같은 시간 개념 아래 고통을 받는다. 존재가 완전히 활동하지 못하는 심판을 받으면, 자주 고통의 기간이 존재에게 끝나지 않는 것처럼 보이고, 그렇게 보일수록 존재의 고통은 크다. 왜냐면 자신의 상태가 변할 것이라는 전망이 존재의 고통을 덜어줄 것이기 때문이다.

그러므로 시간이라는 의식은 이 땅뿐만 아니라, 저 세상에서도, 항상 온전하지 못한 존재만이 갖게 될 것이다. 반면에 온전한 존재는 시간이나 공간의 법칙에 종속되지 않는다. 그에게 모든 시간이 항상 현재이다. 그러므로 온전하게 된 영적인 존재는 과거와, 현재와, 미래를 알지 못하고, 이는 단지 하나의 개념일 뿐이다. 존재는 과거와, 현재와, 미래, 모든 것을 동시에 경험할 수 있다. 이는 이 땅의 사람들이 이해할 수 없는 일이다. 그러나 존재는 이전의 고통의 시간을 고통의 시간으로 간주할 수 없고, 단지 필수불가결하고 따라서 피할 수 없는 정화의 과정으로 관찰하게 될 것이고, 더 이상 큰 고통으로 여기지 않는다. 왜냐면 빛의 존재에게 고난과 고통이 사라지기 때문이다. 자유한 상태에서 존재는 아주 행복하고, 이 땅의 시험시간을 단지 자신을 말할 수 없게 큰 행복을 얻게 해준 중간 단계로 간주한다.

Concept for time and space as a free or unfree being....

In the period of eternity it is irrelevant in which phase of development, i.e. in which redemption period, the spiritual substance covers the earthly path, for the time before and also after is so infinitely long that the time of constraint in the form can only be assessed as a moment. Nevertheless it is not indifferent for the spiritual itself, because the sooner it is liberated from the oppressive outer form, the sooner the glories of the spiritual kingdom are made accessible to it; thus while it previously belonged to the negative forces, it has now become a positive force, which is why the time of liberation cannot be striven for seriously enough. For an unthinkably long time it worked against God, but for eternities it is now active for God and with God.... But as long as the spiritual is bound it feels like an unfree being and suffers, and moreover it has a different concept of time and space during this time than afterwards in eternity as a free being. And so this time of bondage seems unbearably long to it, and this feeling of time is likewise divine permission in order to strengthen the desire for freedom in the spiritual being. Thus it is irrelevant when the spiritual being embodies itself on earth, it will always experience this time as extremely long lasting and suffer from it; afterwards, however, as a being of light it appears to it as a fleeting moment.... As an imperfect being in the beyond, however, it still suffers from the same estimation of time.... often the time of suffering even seems never-ending to it as soon as the being is condemned to complete inactivity. For the greater is its agony because the prospect of a change in its state would reduce the being's torment. Only the imperfect being will therefore always have the awareness of time, on earth as well as in the beyond, while the perfect being is neither subject to the law of time nor space. Everything is present to it at all times, thus the perfected spiritual being knows no past, present and future but all this is only a concept.... The being can experience everything at the same time, which is incomprehensible to people on earth. However, it will no longer be able to regard the time of suffering beforehand as a time of suffering but only as a purification process which was indispensable and therefore inevitable but which it no longer perceives as agonizing because suffering and torment are no longer an option for the being of light. In the state of freedom the being is so extremely happy that it only regards the time of trial on earth as a necessary stopover which has brought it this unspeakably great happiness....
