그리스도의 구속사역을 믿는 믿음.

인류 가운데 그리스도의 구속사역을 믿는 믿음이 너무 약해져서 인류는 가장 큰 위험에 처해 있다. 하나님은 영원으로부터 이런 연약한 믿음을 알고 있다. 하나님의 구세주의 가장 거룩한 사명을 깊이 이해한 사람들의 수는 적다고 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 많은 하나님의 구세주의 이름을 고백하는 사람들이 단지 외적으로 만 고백하고, 강제로 이런 믿음을 포기할 것을 요구하면, 그들이 연약한 믿음을 버릴 것이기 때문이다. 그리스도의 구속사역은 사랑을 통해서만 이해할 수 있는 사랑의 역사이고, 단지 자신이 사랑의 삶을 사는 사람들이, 이로써 사랑이 가장 큰 희생을 드릴 능력이 있음을 아는 사람들이 진정으로 이해할 수 있는 역사이기 때문이다. 그러나 사랑에서 멀리 떨어져 있는 사람은 예수 그리스도가 인류를 위해 드린 희생의 위대함을 절대로 이해하지 못할 것이다.

십자가의 고난과 죽음은 단지 사랑할 수 있는 심장을 가진 사람들이 이해할 수 있고, 그들의 심장이 사랑을 행할 능력이 있는 사람들이 모든 고통을 체험할 수 있다. 반면에 사랑이 없는 사람은 예수의 희생적인 죽음의 고통을 이해하지 못할 것이다. 인류에게 이제 전혀 사랑이 없기 때문에 인류는 구속사역을 믿는 믿음을 또한 잃었다. 이 때문에 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 세상에서 근절시키려고 한다. 단지 사랑이 예수 그리스도를 하나님의 아들이자, 세상의 구세주로 깨달을 수 있게 한다. 그러나 사랑이 부족한 사람은 예수 그리스도를 거부한다. 왜냐하면 그런 사람의 하나님은 항상 어두움의 권세자이고, 그의 권세는 사람들이 어떤 사랑을 행하는 일도 할 수 없게 만드는 세상을 향한 욕망에 의해 인정을 받기 때문이다.

사랑이 없는 세상에서 살며 예수 그리스도를 믿는 일은 어렵게 될 것이다. 세상의 유혹를 이기는 것이 어려울 것이고, 구세주의 하나님의 사랑를 믿는 믿음을 지키고, 세상 앞에서 예수 그리스도의 이름을 공개적으로 고백하는 일도 어려울 것이다. 그러나 이런 일이 사랑의 삶을 사는 사람들에게는 가능할 것이다. 왜냐면 이런 사람들은 예수 그리스도의 영으로 충만하기 때문이다. 그들이 사랑을 통해 사랑 자체인 예수 그리스도와 긴밀하게 연결되어 있다면, 그들은 세상과 세상의 전사들을 대항하여 승리할 것이다. 그들은 하나님의 지혜 안으로 깊숙이 들어갔고, 예수의 십자가 죽음을 통해 얻은 이해할 수 없는 은혜뿐만 아니라 존재들의 큰 죄를 안다.

그들은 또한 단지 이웃 사람을 향한 깊은 사랑이 예수가 이웃 사람을 위해 자신을 희생하게 만들었다는 것을 안다. 따라서 그들은 심장으로 예수 그리스도를 깨닫고, 이제 예수 그리스도와 예수 그리스도의 구속사역을 세상 앞에서 대변하고, 그의 이름을 큰 소리로 고백할 수 있다. 이런 소수의 사람들은 세상이 그들에게 시작하는 싸움에 임할 것이고, 그들은 두려워하지 않을 것이다. 왜냐면 대적자의 권세에서 그들을 구속하기 위해 사람들을 위해 자신의 피를 흘린 하나님의 구세주가 그들 곁에 있기 때문이다. 싸움이 일어나게 될 것이다. 대적자는 새롭게 그리스도를 따르는 사람들에 맞서 싸울 것이다. 이 싸움은 예수 그리스도를 믿는 깊은 믿음으로만 끝까지 싸울 수 있는 싸움이다.

사랑없음이 그 어느 때보다 더 나타나게 될 것이고, 다시 사랑이 고통을 겪어야만 하게 될 것이지만, 그러나 사랑은 또한 모든 고통을 견딜 수 있게 될 것이다. 자신의 십자가의 죽음으로 가장 큰 위험으로부터 인류를 구원한 예수 그리스도가 인류에 의해 거부당하면, 그리스도를 다시 십자가에 못박는 일이다. 단지 사랑이 예수 그리스도를 고백할 것이다. 단지 사랑할 수 있는 능력이 있는 사람들만이 예수 그리스도께 신실하게 머물 것이다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 구세주 자신이 그들에게 원수에게 저항할 힘을 주기 때문이다. 그들은 이 땅의 생명을 잃을지라도 승리하게 될 것이고, 승리자로 머물 것이다. 왜냐면 그들은 진실로 예수 그리스도의 추종자들이었고, 필요하다면 육체의 죽음으로 예수 그리스도를 향한 그들의 충성을 인증하기 때문이다. 왜냐면 그들 안에 하나님의 아들이자 세상의 구세주인 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음이 살아 있기 때문이다.

Faith in the redemptive work of Christ....

Faith in Christ's work of redemption has become so weak among mankind that it is therefore in great danger. And God has known about this weakness of faith since eternity. The number of those who are deeply imbued with the divine saviour's most holy mission is small to mention, for many confessors of His name only do so outwardly and will also give up this shallow faith if they are forced to do so. Christ's work of redemption was a work of love which can only be understood through love, which can only be truly grasped by people who live in love themselves and who therefore know that love is capable of the greatest sacrifice. But anyone who is far removed from love will never be able to understand the greatness of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for humanity. The suffering and death on the cross can only be empathized with and experienced with all its agony by people whose hearts are capable of love, whereas the unloving person will have no understanding for the agony of Jesus' sacrificial death. And since humanity is now devoid of all love, it has also lost faith in the work of redemption, and this is the explanation as to why faith in Jesus Christ is to be eradicated in the world. Only love can recognize Him as the son of God and redeemer of the world.... But he who lacks love rejects Him, for his God is always the prince of darkness, and his power is recognized through the desire for the world, which makes people incapable of any activity of love. And it will be difficult to live in the midst of a world without love and to keep faith in Jesus Christ.... It will be difficult to withstand the temptations of the world and it will be difficult to defend faith in the divine love of the saviour and to openly confess His name before the world. And yet this will be possible for people who live a life of love, for they are permeated by His spirit and will be victorious over the world and its fighters if they are closely united through love with the one Who is love Itself. They are deeply imbued with divine wisdom and know about the great guilt of the spiritual being as well as about the incomprehensible grace which was acquired for them through Jesus' death on the cross.... They also know that only the profound love for their fellow human beings motivated Jesus to sacrifice Himself for them, and thus they recognize Him in their hearts and are now also able to represent Him and His act of salvation before the world and confess His name aloud. And these few will take up the battle which the world announces to them; they will not be afraid because the divine saviour, Who gave His blood for people in order to redeem them from the power of the adversary, stands by their side.... He will once again take up arms against the followers of Christ and a battle will break out that can only be fought in deep faith in Jesus Christ. And unkindness will come to light more than ever, and once again love will have to suffer but will also be able to bear all suffering.... Christ will be nailed to the cross again, so He will be denied by humanity, to whom His death on the cross was supposed to bring salvation from the greatest adversity. And only love will confess Him, only those people who are able to love will remain faithful to Him, for the divine saviour Himself will give them the strength to resist their enemies and they will be and remain victorious even if they lose their earthly life, for they were in truth followers of Jesus and, if necessary, will also seal their loyalty to Him with their physical death.... For in them faith is alive in Jesus Christ as the son of God and saviour of the world....
