하나님이 이 땅에 주는 것은 쇠하지 않는 것이다.

하나님이 주는 것은 쇠하지 않는 것이다. 하나님에게서 오는 모든 것은 그의 본래의 본질대로 남아 있는다. 왜냐면 그것은 영적인 힘이고, 하나님의 사랑의 발산의 산물이기 때문이다. 그것은 소멸될 수 없다. 왜냐면 한번 발산된 영의 힘은 영원히 똑같이 행하도록 자극하는 힘으로 머물기 때문이다. 어떤 형태로 이 힘이 나타나든지 똑같고, 이 힘은 항상 소멸되지 않은 것으로 남아 있는다.

하나님이 이제 자신을 계시해주면, 그는 또한 영적인 힘을 이 땅에 보낸다. 왜냐면 하나님 자신이 말씀 안에 거하기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님은 힘이다. 그러므로 하나님이 말씀을 멸망에 굴복시키기 위해, 말씀 안에서 자기 자신을 계시하지 않는다는 일은 이해할 수 있는 일이다. 하나님의 뜻이 생성되게 하는 것은 그에 대한 이유와 사명이 있다. 왜냐면 하나님은 아무 일도 임의대로 하지 않고, 모든 일을 영원으로부터 신중하게 고려하고, 자신의 지혜와 사랑을 증명하기 때문이다. 하나님이 보내는 것은 파괴할 수 없는 것이기 때문에, 그것은 또한 그의 사명을 성취할 것이다.

하나님의 순수한 말씀이 이 땅에 임할 수 있는 경우가 드물기 때문에, 이런 일이 희귀하게 일어난다. 그러나 하나님의 의지는 자신의 의지가 이 땅에 임하게 한 것을 보존하기에 충분하다. 비록 말씀에 대해 뜨거운 논쟁을 벌인다 할지라도, 사람들이 말씀을 무력하게 만들 수 없게 될 것이다. 말씀의 힘이 진지하게 분별하는 모든 사람에게 흘러가기 때문이다. 단지 진지하게 점검하는 사람이 통찰력을 얻을 수 있도록, 하나님 자신이 돌본다. 왜냐하면 하나님은 필요한 것이 무엇인지 알고, 하나님이 일어나게 하는 모든 일은 좋은 일이기 때문이다.

다가오는 때에 어떤 사람도 부담이 없는 사람이 거의 없게 될 것이다. 모든 사람이 격려가 필요하다. 그러나 그가 유일하게 찾아야 할 곳에서 그는 격려를 구하기를 원하지 않는다. 그러나 순수한 말씀이 그에게 도달하면, 그는 순수한 말씀을 그의 내면을 움직이고, 영적 문제에 대해 생각하도록 자극하는 힘으로 느끼게 될 것이고, 다른 한편으로는 높은 곳에서 오는 부드러운 격려로 느끼게 될 것이다.

하나님의 말씀을 주의 깊게 읽는 사람은, 비로 그가 이전에 적대적이었다 할지라도, 그는 자신의 길에 들어선 것이다. 왜냐하면 말씀이 힘이고, 사람이 말씀에 저항하지 않는다면, 힘이 역사하기 때문이다. 하나님은 자신의 말이 판단하기에 미숙하거나, 아직 대적자의 권세 아래 있는 사람들의 손에 도달하는 일로부터 자신의 말을 보호할 것이다.

큰 영적 위험에 직면하여, 말씀이 이 땅에 임한다. 말씀은 큰 위험을 해결하는 수단이다. 말씀은 하나님이 자신의 백성들과 세상의 소용돌이에 빠질 위험에 처한 모든 사람을 위해 주는 생명줄이다. 이런 말씀이 위험한 때를 견디지 못하고, 마음대로 파괴될 수 있겠느냐? 하나님 자신이 말씀 안에서 사람들과 함께 한다. 이를 믿는 믿음이 세상의 조치에 대한 모든 두려움을 제거한다.

하나님은 말씀이고 그의 사랑은 무한하여, 하나님은 사람들을 돕기 위해, 사람들에게 다가가기를 원한다. 그럴지라도 그는 말씀 안에서 자신을 계시해주는 일 외에, 볼 수 있게 자신을 계시해줄 수 없다. 그러나 하나님의 말씀이 이 땅으로 흘러내려가는 곳에 그의 사랑의 영이 역사하고, 이런 사랑의 영이 생성되게 한 것을 절대로 소멸되게 하지 않을 것이다. 왜냐면 하나님은 힘이고, 하나님의 역사는 힘의 발산이고, 인간의 의지가 이런 힘을 무산시킬 수 없기 때문이다.

Imperishability of what God allows to come to earth....

A gift that is of divine origin is imperishable. Everything that comes from God remains in its original substance because it is spiritual strength, it is the product of the emanation of love from God. It cannot perish because spiritual strength, once radiated, remains the same forever.... power that stimulates activity.... The form in which this power expresses itself is the same; it always remains imperishable. If God now reveals Himself, He also sends spiritual power to earth, for He is Himself in the word.... but God is strength.... And therefore it is understandable that He does not reveal Himself in the word in order to abandon this word to destruction. What His will allows to come into being has its reason and its purpose. For God does nothing arbitrarily, but everything is premeditated since eternity and testifies to His wisdom and love. And because His programmes are indestructible, they will also fulfil their purpose. Only rarely can the pure word of God be channelled to earth and therefore a work rarely endures. But the will of God is sufficient if what this will has brought to earth is to be preserved. And even if the word is hotly disputed, people will never be able to invalidate it, for its power flows into everyone who seriously scrutinizes it. And God Himself will see to it that only those who seriously scrutinize will gain insight, for He knows what is necessary and everything is good as He allows it to happen. In the time to come hardly anyone will be unburdened and everyone will need encouragement but will not want to look for it where alone it should be sought. Yet if the pure word reaches him he will experience it as strength which stirs him up inwardly and stimulates him to reflect on spiritual problems.... and which, on the other hand, seems to him like a gentle encouragement from on high. And anyone who reads the divine word attentively will fall under its spell, even if they have previously been hostile to it. For the word is power, and the power works as soon as the human being is without resistance towards it. And God will protect His word from falling into the hands of people who are immature in their judgement or still in the power of the adversary.... The word comes to earth in the face of great spiritual adversity; it is a means to remedy it; it is the help God sends to His own and is the lifeline for all who are in danger of drowning in the whirlpool of the world.... And this word should not be able to stand the test of time and be arbitrarily destroyed? God is Himself in the word with men.... This faith eliminates all fear of earthly measures.... God is the word and His love is infinite that He wants to come to people to help them.... However, He cannot make Himself known more visibly than in the word. But where His word flows down to earth, His spirit of love is also active there, and He will never let pass what this spirit of love has created. For God is strength, His working is an outpouring of strength, and human will is unable to dissolve the strength into nothing....
