사랑이 없는 죄. (1914의 보충)

이웃을 사랑하라는 계명을 어기는 일도 마찬가지로 죄이다. 그러나 이 죄는 존재가 인간으로써 자유의지의 단계에서 지은 죄이다. 즉 이전에 하나님을 대항하여 반역한 죄와 혼돈을 해서는 안 된다. 왜냐면 여기에서 다루는 죄는, 사람이 하나님을 제대로 깨닫지 못하거나, 하나님과 이웃 사람을 대한 그의 실제 위치를 제대로 깨닫지 못하기 때문에, 의식으로 하나님께 의식적으로 반발하는 일이 아닌, 사랑없음이기 때문이다. 그는 실제 선과 악에 대한 느낌을 가지고 있다. 그러나 그가 악한 충동을 더 많이 따르기 때문에, 그는 자신의 혼의 겉형체을 두껍게 한다. 그러므로 이전의 불의에 또 다른 불의를 더한다. 이로써 자신이 한때 반발로 인한 큰 죄짐으로부터 벗는 일을 더 어렵게 만든다.

그러므로 인간은 이로부터 해방되기 위해 이미 짐을 진 상태로 세상에 임하고, 사랑 없음으로 범한 죄를 통해 잔지 자신의 짐을 늘릴 수 있다. 이로써 그는 자신을 퇴보하게 만들 수 있다. 반면에 이 땅의 삶의 목적은 무한히 긴 창조물의 과정을 거친 후, 이 전에 범한 하나님께 대한 잘못으로 인한 마지막 불순물을 제거하는 일이다. 이런 큰 죄가 그의 이 땅의 삶을 살게 한 이유이다. 이런 죄가 없으면, 존재에게 고통과 걱정과 환난과 고난을 제공하는 세상에서 존재할 아무런 이유가 없다. 이런 모든 일은 단지 목적을 위한 수단이다.

그러나 이런 큰 죄가 인정하지 않거나, 부인하다면, 인간을 포함한 모든 창조물이 존재할 이유가 없게 될 것이다. 그러면 창조물이 지혜나 사랑을 전혀 보여주지 못할 것이고, 사랑없음의 죄는 영원한 형벌을 받기에는 너무 작을 것이고, 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 삶은 절대로 영원한 상급을 얻게 할 수 없을 것이다. 왜냐면 상급과 형벌이 사람의 상급이나, 죄에 비례하지 않기 때문이다. 그러나 한때 하나님을 떠난 죄는 중요한 영적 사건이고, 그러므로 인간이 그 중요성을 파악할 수 없을 정도이다. 하지만 그는 이를 믿는 가운데, 원래 초기에 그랬던 것처럼, 하나님과의 올바른 관계를 회복시키는 이 땅의 과제를 수행할 수 있다._>아멘

Sin of unkindness.... (supplement to no. 1914)

Violating the commandment to love one's neighbour is also a sin, but a sin that the being only commits in the stage of free will, as a human being, and therefore must not be confused with the former sin.... of rebellion against God.... For this is a lack of love which is not a conscious rebellion against God Himself, because the human being neither recognizes God correctly nor his actual position towards God and his fellow human being. He does have a sense of good and evil, and as he fulfils the urge to evil more, he thickens the shell of his soul, thus adding further injustice to the former injustice and thereby making it more difficult for himself to free himself from the great guilt of sin of his former rebellion. The human being is therefore born in a burdened state in order to become free from it and can only increase his burden through sins that are committed without love. As a result, he can regress, whereas the purpose of life on earth is to rid himself of the last remnants of his former offence against God after an infinitely long journey through creation.... This great sin is the reason for his life on earth.... Without this sin, there is no justification for a being's existence in a world that offers suffering and sorrow, tribulation and hardship to the embodied being. All this is merely a means to an end. But as soon as this great sin is not recognized or denied, every work of creation, including man, would be unfounded, and creation would then betray neither wisdom nor love. The sin of unkindness, however, would be too small to result in eternal punishment, but a life lived in a manner pleasing to God would never be able to earn eternal reward, as neither would be in proportion to the merit or sin of man on earth. The former apostasy from God, however, is such a significant spiritual event that man cannot grasp it, but only by believing in it can he solve the task on earth.... to restore the right relationship with God as it was from the beginning....
