사람 안의 악한 영. 가장 치열한 상대인 사랑.

악마는 세상을 다스리고 있다. 그의 영향력은 인류의 행동과 생각에서 나타난다. 인류는 이제 주저함이 없이 가장 비열한 행동을 서슴없이 행한다. 인류는 그들이 행한 일에 대해 해명을 하지 않고, 이웃을 해치는 수단을 증가시킨다. 왜냐하면 이런 행동을 하고, 생각을 하게 만드는 것은 사랑이 없는 영이기 때문이다. 사람에게 어떤 사랑도 없고, 이런 혼의 저조한 상태가 그들의 행동으로 나타난다.

그들이 세상적이건, 영적이건 건설하는 일에는 절대로 참여하지 않을 것이고, 항상 파괴할 것이다. 그들은 진리를 공격하고, 거짓을 퍼뜨리기를 원할 것이다. 그들은 모든 영적인 흐름도 막을 것이고, 그러나 믿음에 적대적인 모든 것을 승인하고, 호의를 베풀 것이다. 그들은 개인 재산을 존중하지 않고, 불법적으로 재산을 빼앗으려고 시도할 것이다. 그들은 경멸할 만할지라도, 이 땅의 유익을 약속하는 어떤 수단도 피하지 않을 것이다. 왜냐하면 악은 법과 공의에 문의하지 않고, 불법적으로 폭력을 사용하기 때문이다.

사람들은 이미 완전히 악의 묶임 아래에 있다. 그들은 그들의 세상의 소유를 향한 욕망으로, 그들의 사랑 없는 본성과 자기 사랑으로, 스스로 악의 권세 아래 자신을 받친다. 그러므로 악한 영은 그런 인류에게 좋은 성공을 거둔다. 왜냐하면 그들은 대적자의 권세에 대항하여 하나님께 도움을 구하지 않기 때문이다. 그들은 오히려 악한 세력이 요구하는 모든 일에 동의한다. 그러므로 신적인 것이 그로부터 점점 더 멀어진다. 하나님과 사람 사이의 분리가 점점 더 눈에 띄게 되고, 하나님과 하나님의 추종자들을 공개적으로 공격하게 된다.

그러나 하나님을 대적하는 역사가 그토록 눈에 띄게 나타나는 곳에서 하나님은 또한 인류를 되찾기 위해 자신을 눈에 띄게 나타낸다. 하나님은 모든 곳에서 인류에게 자신의 뜻을 선포하는 사람들을 일깨우면서, 자신의 전능함과 사랑에 대한 특별한 증거를 준다. 그러나 얼마나 적은 수의 사람들이 이 은혜의 선물을 이해하느냐! 얼마나 적은 수의 사람들이 하나님의 뜻을 따르느냐! 세상이 하는 일은, 다시 말해 대적자가 세상을 통해 하는 일은 저항하지 않고 받아드린다. 그러나 하나님이 큰 사랑으로 사람들에게 제공하는 것은 먼저 시험을 받고, 세상적으로 이익이 없기 때문에 자주 거부를 당한다.

그러므로 선이 사람 안의 악한 영과 싸운다. 하나님이 대적자의 일을 분명히 밝히고, 선명하게 들어내기를 원하지 않는다면, 인류는 완전히 멸망할 위험에 처하게 될 것이다. 그러나 하나님은 대적자의 역사에 제한을 둔다. 그는 빛의 나라의 주민들에게 오류에 빠진 인류를 돌보고, 인류가 악을 악으로 분명히 깨닫고, 이제 가장 큰 헌신을 드려 하나님을 섬기도록 인류를 인도하는 과제를 부여한다.

악의 세력은 무너지게 될 것이다. 악의 세력은 하나님을 자신 안에 모시고, 진리를 사랑하고, 진리를 믿고, 사랑을 행함으로 하나님과의 연합을 증거하는 사람들의 생각에 더 이상 영향을 미치지 못하게 될 것이다. 왜냐하면 이런 사람들은 악을 깨닫고, 선을 원하기 때문이다. 그러므로 그들은 악한 영보다 더 강하다. 왜냐하면 그들은 주 하나님 구세주를 찾았고, 악의 힘이 그들에게 역사하지 못하고 튕겨 나가기 때문이다. 사랑이 그들 안을 지배하고 있다. 그러나 사랑이 악한 영의 가장 치열한 대적자이다.

The demon in man.... love's fiercest opponent....

The demon rules the world and its influence is noticeable in the actions and thoughts of mankind. Without shyness, it now commits the most despicable acts. It gives no account of what it does, but outdoes itself in the means of harming its neighbour. For it is the spirit of unkindness that drives them to act and think in this way. People are devoid of all love and this low level of their soul is reflected in their actions. They will never be constructive but always destructive, be it earthly or spiritually. They will want to suppress the truth and spread lies, they will suppress every spiritual trend but approve and favour everything that is hostile to faith, they will not respect property but try to seize it unlawfully. They will not shy away from any means that promise earthly advantage, even if they are despicable, for evil does not ask for justice and fairness but proceeds illegally and with violence. And people are already completely under the spell of evil, they have placed themselves under its power through their desire for earthly possessions, through their unloving nature and their self-love, and therefore the demon has good success with such a kind of humanity. For they fail to ask God for help against the enemy's power. Instead, it agrees to everything that the evil power demands, and so the divine moves further and further away from it. The separation between God and people becomes more and more visible, indeed, open action is taken against God and His followers. But where the activity of God's opposing power is so visibly evident, God also expresses Himself just as visibly in order to guide humanity back, He gives extraordinary evidence of His omnipotence and love by awakening people everywhere who proclaim His will to humanity. Yet how few realize this gift of grace and how few comply with the divine will.... What the world does, and thus through it the adversary, is accepted without resistance; however, what God offers people in His great love is first subjected to scrutiny and then often rejected because it is of no earthly benefit. And so the good fights against the demon in man, and if God did not want to help and clearly illuminate the adversary's work, humanity would be in danger of complete ruin. But God sets limits to the adversary's work.... He gives the inhabitants of the kingdom of light the task of taking care of misguided humanity and guiding it in such a way that it clearly recognizes the evil as evil and now seeks to serve God with the greatest devotion. And the power of evil will be broken and it will no longer have any influence on the thinking of people who have God within themselves, who love the truth, who believe and testify to their union with God through loving activity.... For these people recognize what is bad and want what is good, and thus they are stronger than the demon, for they have found the divine lord and saviour and the evil power bounces off them without effect.... love is predominant in them, because love is the demon's fiercest opponent....
