정의로운 생각

사람들은 자신의 견해로는 다른 민족에게 해를 끼치는 민족을 완전히 파괴하기 위해 일한다면, 자신이 좋은 일을 위해 섬기고 있다는 믿음으로 산다. 이런 견해는 정당성이 없고, 모든 공의에 위배가 된다. 사람들은 항상 자신들이 단지 보기 원하는 것만을 보고, 판단하기 전에 여론이 진리에 어느 정도 일치하는지 진지하게 검토하지 않는다.

사람들이 더 이상 좋아하지 않는 것을 파괴하기를 원하는 일은 믿을 수 없게 잔인한 원칙이다. 따라서 사람들은 이웃사람에 대항하여, 하나님이 마찬가지로 창조한, 그들의 혼의 성장을 위해 이 땅에서 육신을 입는 일을 체험하고 있는 존재를 대항하여 파괴에 기여하는 모든 조치를 내린다. 사랑으로 서로 섬겨야 할 존재들이 서로를 멸망시키는 방향으로 이끈다. 이런 일은 매우 끔찍한 일이고, 실제 큰 불의를 깨닫지 못하고, 이웃사람들에게 가장 큰 파멸을 가져 오기만을 갈망하는 인류의 영적으로 저조한 상태를 나타낸다.

사람들에게 정의감이 부족하고, 그들의 생각은 공의와는 거리가 멀다. 사람은 세상의 행복에 유용한 일을, 권력과 재산을 증가시키는 일을 옳다고 여긴다. 모든 강한 사람들은 약한 사람들에 대해 옳다고 여긴다. 그러나 사람들이 의로운 생각을 완전히 잃었다. 그들은 더 이상 진정한 불의를 어디에서 찾아야 하는 지, 자신을 강타한 재난에 대한 자신의 잘못이 어느 정도인지에 대해 스스로 판단할 수 없다. 그들은 증오와 무자비한 말을 하고, 보복을 하고, 그들의 복수하려는 갈망을 타오르게 하고, 이제 모든 인간적인 감정을 상하게 하는 역사를 실행에 옮긴다.

사람들은 서로에 대해 분노한다. 사람들은 잔인함에서 서로를 능가하고, 서로간의 멸망을 추구한다. 그러나 공격자는 자신을 방어해야만 하는, 그러므로 동일한 수단을 사용해야만 하는 공격받은 사람보다 훨씬 더 많은 비난을 받아야만 한다. 이런 역사는 사탄이 직접 지시하는 파괴의 역사이다. 왜냐하면 대적자는 증오와 사랑 없음을 무섭게 증가시키고, 이런 역사가 모든 인간의 감정을 죽이는 서로에 대해 분노하는 역사이기 때문이다. 사람들은 더 이상 사람에 대항하여 싸우지 않고, 깊게 타락한 영의 존재가 마찬가지로 깊게 타락한 영의 존재에 대항하여 싸운다. 수천 수만 명의 사람들이 고난을 당하고, 잔인함을 통해 그들의 삶을 끝내게 된다.

그러나 하나님은 인간의 불의에 대해 복수를 한다. 그는 서로 분노하는 일을 심판한다. 그는 싸우는 방식을 심판한다. 그의 심판은 진실로 정당하다. 때가되면, 범인이 당하게 될 것이다. 그는 끔찍한 비참함을 불러 일으킨 사람을 모든 세계에 알리고, 그를 지목하여, 세상이 그의 혐오스러운 행동을 깨닫게 하고, 사람들이 의롭게 생각하고, 모든 이웃 사람을 같은 피조물로 여기는 법을 배우게 한다. 이로써 그들이 불의를 혐오하고, 그들이 지은 죄를 보상하려고 노력하게 한다.

Sense of justice....

People live in the belief that they are serving a good cause when they campaign for the complete destruction of a people that they believe is causing harm to other peoples. This view lacks any justification and goes against all justice. People only ever see what they want to see and they fail to seriously examine the extent to which public opinion corresponds to the truth before passing judgement. It is an unbelievably cruel principle to want to destroy what people no longer like, and thus all measures serving destruction are directed against fellow human beings, against beings which were likewise created by God and live through the embodiment on earth for the sake of their spiritual development. And beings, which are supposed to serve each other in love, move against each other for mutual destruction. This is so dreadful and characterizes the spiritual low of humanity, which does not recognize the great injustice and is only intent on bringing the greatest destruction upon its fellow human beings. People lack a sense of justice, their thinking is far removed from justice. What is useful for earthly well-being, what increases power and possessions is considered right, and every strong person believes he is right towards the weak. But people have completely lost the ability to think justly; they are no longer able to form their own judgement as to where the actual injustice is to be found, to what extent people themselves are guilty of the harm that befalls them.... They only let their hatred and unkindness speak, want to retaliate and indulge their lust for revenge and are now carrying out acts that go against all human feeling. People rage against each other, they outdo each other in cruelty and strive for mutual destruction. And yet the attacker is even more to be condemned than the attacked, who has to defend himself and therefore resorts to the same means. It is a work of destruction led by satan himself, for he drives hatred and unkindness to frightening heights, it is a raging against each other that kills all human feeling.... It is no longer people fighting against people, but deeply sunk spiritual beings against just such beings, and thousands and thousands of people have to suffer and end their lives through cruelty. But God avenges the injustice of man.... He condemns the rage against each other, He condemns the way of fighting, and His judgement is truly just.... It will strike the guilty when the time has come. He will make known to all the world who has brought about the terrible misery and He will brand them so that the world will recognize their conduct in disgust, so that people will think justly and learn to regard all fellow human beings as equally creatures of God, so that they will abhor injustice and endeavour to make amends for what they have sinned....
