기도.

너희는 항상 기도하는 가운데 머물러야 한다. 왜냐하면 너희는 아버지의 도움이 필요한 연약한 자녀이기 때문이다. 너희의 염려는 항상 너희 자신이 아버지의 도움을 받기에 합당함을 보여주는 일로 행해야 한다. 왜냐하면 하늘의 아버지가 너희를 위해 하는 일은 너희를 향한 사랑으로 하기 때문이다. 너희가 이제 그의 사랑을 소유하기를 원하면, 너희가 그의 뜻을 따름으로써 너희가 그의 자녀임을 그에게 증명해야만 한다. 이를 위해 너희에게 힘이 필요하고, 너희는 이 힘을 얻기 위해 기도로 간청해야 한다. 그러므로 기도는 위를 향하는 첫 번째 단계이다. 이 땅의 자녀가 기도를 도피처로 삼을 때, 그는 모든 일을 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 아버지가 친히 말씀하심으로 너희에게 약속했기 때문이다. "구하라. 그러면 그것이 너희에게 주어질 것이다. 두드리라, 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이다."

심장에서 나오는 모든 부름은 아버지에게 전달되며, 이 부름이 사람의 혼의 구원에 도움이 된다면, 응답을 받을 것이다. 기도의 힘은 너무 커서 꿈도 꾸지 못한 영적인 힘이 이 땅의 자녀에게 보내져 도움을 주고, 이 기도가 하늘 아버지의 뜻 안에 있다면, 모든 요청이 이뤄진다. 그러나 단지 겸손하게 구하고, 어린아이와 같은 신뢰를 가지고 아버지께 드리는 기도만이 응답을 받을 수 있다. 기도가 하나님과의 올바른 관계를 나타내 줘야만 한다.

자녀가 아버지에게 그의 요청을 제시하듯이, 구하는 이 땅의 자녀는 모든 요청을 가지고 아버지에게 와야 한다. 모든 기도를 성취시켜주는 일이 유일하게 아버지의 권세 아래 있다. 기도는 하나님과의 의식적인 연결이다. 왜냐하면 기도는 더 높은 힘이 모든 권세를 가지고 있다는 믿음을 전제로 하고, 하나님이 자신의 피조물을 사랑한다는 믿음을 전제로 하기 때문이다. 기도는 피조물이 창조주를 인정하다는 것을 증명한다. 기도는 창조주와 피조물 사이의 올바른 관계를 확립한다. 기도는 이 땅의 자녀의 만물의 아버지를 향한 갈망을 증명한다.

그러므로 너희가 구하고, 너희의 안건을 주님께 아뢰면, 너희가 너희의 출처인 원래의 영을 인정하는 것이고, 연합이 되게 해주는 다리에 들어서는 것이다. 왜냐하면 기도는 아버지께 향하는 첫 걸음이기 때문이다. 기도는 깊은 곳을 벗어나 높은 곳에 도달할 수 있는 유일한 방법이다. 왜냐하면, 기도가 이 땅의 자녀에게 힘과 강함이 제공하기 때문이다. 이런 힘과 강함이 자신에 대한, 자신의 혼에 대한 작업을 시작할 수 있게 하고, 아버지와 자녀를 분리시키는 간격을 연결시킨다. 사람이 어떤 종류이건 싸움에서 승리해야만 한다면, 기도는 항상 모든 어려움을 끝낼 수 있는 분을 향한 피난처이다. 그러므로 너희가 올바르게 기도하면, 즉 영으로, 진리로 기도하면, 너희의 기도는 응답을 받을 것이다. 이로써 너희가 아버지의 사랑과 전능함을 믿는 믿음으로 강하게 되게 한다.

Prayer....

And so you should persevere in prayer, for you are weak little children who always need the father's help. And your concern should always be to prove yourselves worthy of His help, for whatever the father in heaven does for you He does out of love for you. If you now want to possess this love of His you must prove to Him that you are His children by complying with His will.... And for this you need strength, which you should implore in faithful prayer. And therefore prayer is the first rung upwards; the earthly child is able to do everything if it resorts to prayer, for the father Himself has given you the promise with His words: Ask and it will be given to you.... knock and it will be opened to you.... Every call that comes from the heart reaches the father and will also be heard if it is useful for the salvation of a person's soul. The power of prayer is so great that undreamt-of spiritual strength is sent to help the earthly child and every request is granted if it is in accordance with the will of the heavenly father. Yet only prayer which is sent up to the father in humble supplication and childlike trust can be answered.... prayer must reflect the right relationship with God.... As a child presents its request to the father, so the asking earthly child should come to Him with every request, in Whose power alone it lies to fulfil every request. Prayer is the conscious connection with God.... For prayer also presupposes the belief that a higher power has all authority and that God loves His creatures. It proves that the creature regocnizes its creator.... prayer establishes the right relationship between the two, and prayer proves the desire of the earthly child for the father of the universe. And thus, when you pray and present your request to the lord, you acknowledge the original spirit, Who is your origin, and you enter the bridge which leads to reunification, for prayer is the first step towards the father.... prayer is the only way to ascend from the abyss, for it is through prayer that the earthly child receives the strength and vigour to start working on itself, on its soul, and thus to bridge the gulf which separates it from the father.... And if the human being has to endure battles of whatever kind, prayer is always the refuge to the one Who can put an end to everything that is difficult.... If you pray correctly, i.e. in spirit and in truth, your supplications will be heard so that you will become strong in faith in His love and omnipotence....
