지속적인 연습을 통해 영의 능력을 개발하라.

하나님의 지혜를 향한 열망을 통해 주님을 향한 사랑도 깨달을 수 있다. 자신을 하나님의 사랑의 산물로 깨닫는 사람은 영원한 신성의 사역과 역사에 동참하기를 원한다. 다시 말해 자신의 감각으로 창조의 모든 기적을 이해하고, 자신에 거하는 하나님의 영적 불꽃이 영접할 수 있는, 가장 순수한 영적 보물을 알기를 원한다. 그러므로 이 일은 단지 약간의 연습이 필요하고, 인간의 의지가 영적인 의미에서 놀라운 일을 성취한다. 모든 신체의 의무를 완수하는 일도 크거나 적게 연습의 문제이다. 왜냐하면 사람이 의식적인 노력을 통해 여러 영역의 기술을 얻기 때문이다. 이 일은 자신이 이 땅의 삶을 위해 선택한 직업을 훈련하는 목적을 가지고 있다.

모든 영적인 능력도 이와 마찬가지로 지속적인 연습을 통해 높은 수준으로 성장할 수 있고, 특별히 성공적으로 영의 영역에 깊이 침투할 수 있다. 이로써 영적 지식을 증가시킬 수 있다. 이 노력은 항상 하나님을 향한 사랑을 전제로 한다. 왜냐하면 사람은 항상 그에게 갈망할 만하게 보이는 것을 소유하기를 원하기 때문이다. 그는 자신의 영적인 재물을 향한 열망을 통해 그 자신과 그의 혼과 영이 신성에 이끌 리는 것을 고백한다. 그리고 자신이 영원으로부터 신성의 사랑의 산물임을 고백한다. 그러나 그의 내면에 하나님을 향한 사랑이 내재되어 있지 않는 사람의 감각은 하나님으로부터 온 지혜를 구하지 않는다. 그는 세상과 세상적인 이익을 향해 나간다. 사람은 명성과 명예와 세상의 재물과 세상의 지식을 원한다. 그는 그런 것을 통해 그의 갈망이 남김 없이 성취된 것으로 여긴다.

반대로 영의 진리를 맛본 사람들에게는 세상이 지루하게 보일 것이다. 왜냐하면 세상을 향한 그의 욕망이 충족할수록 그 욕망이 더 증가할 것이기 때문이다. 그러나 이 땅의 재물이 그에게 자극을 주지 못하고, 쓸모없는 것처럼 보일 것이다. 하나님을 향한 사랑과 자신의 창조주를 향한 사랑이 심장 안에 지금까지 숨겨져 있던 모든 것을 심장 밖으로 몰아낼 것이고, 가장 작은 영적인 양식이 세상의 모든 기쁨보다 훨씬 더 즐거움을 줄 것이다. 왜냐하면 그의 심장은 더 이상 세상의 기쁨을 기쁨으로 깨달을 수 없기 때문이다. 그가 하늘의 지혜들을 제공받는 일에서 행복을 찾은 후에는 그는 주님의 은혜로 즉시 배고픔을 채울 수 있다. 왜냐하면 주님을 사랑하는 가운데 머무는 사람의 혼은 그가 원할 때마다 높은 곳으로 상승할 수 있기 때문이다. 그는 하나님의 사랑으로 항상 보살핌을 받을 것이다.

Developing spiritual abilities through constant practice....

Love for the lord is also recognizable in the desire for divine wisdom, and the human being, who recognizes himself as a product of divine love, desires to participate in spirit in the working and activity of the eternal deity, i.e. to grasp all the wonders of creation with his senses and to know about things which are purest spiritual knowledge and therefore can only be received with the divine spiritual spark within him. Thus it only requires some practice and the will of man achieves unbelievable things in spiritual relationship. To fulfil all duties of the body is also only a matter of more or less practice, for the human being acquires skills in different areas through conscious striving for them, and this is the earthly purpose to educate himself in the profession he has chosen for his earthly life. It is the same with all spiritual abilities which can also be trained to a high degree through constant practice and which result in the success of being able to penetrate spiritual areas extraordinarily deeply and to increase spiritual knowledge accordingly. This striving always presupposes love for God, for the human being always wants to possess what he deems desirable. And through his desire for spiritual possessions he confesses that his soul and spirit are drawn towards divinity, whose product of love he is from eternity. However, if the love for God does not dwell in him, his senses do not desire the wisdom from God.... They are directed towards the world with its earthly advantages. Man desires fame and honour, earthly goods and earthly knowledge, and he finds complete fulfilment of his longing in them. And conversely, the world will appear stale to the person who has tasted spiritual truth.... for his desire for it will increase the more it is satisfied, yet the earth's goods will appear charmless and worthless to him. And love for God, for his creator, will displace everything from the heart which was ever hidden in it, and the least spiritual food will be far more enjoyment for him than all the pleasures of the world, for his heart will no longer be able to recognize them as such..., once it has found happiness in the presentation of heavenly wisdom and is allowed to satisfy its hunger for it through the grace of the lord.... For whoever perseveres in love for Him, his spirit may fly upwards as often as he likes.... he will always be cared for by divine love....
