하나님의 의지. 세상의 조치. 모든 것을 영적으로 섬기는 일.

세상과 세상 안에 있는 모든 것이 하늘과 땅의 주님을 섬긴다는 것을 이해하라. 세상은 주님의 영으로 생명을 유지한다. 비록 주님의 영을 제대로 깨닫지 못할지라도, 사람이 영원한 신성으로부터 도피하려고 할지라도, 그는 자신의 뜻과는 반대로 섬겨야만 하고, 주님의 뜻에 순복해야만 한다. 주님의 뜻은 모든 우주 가운데 모든 창조물에게 사명을 주고, 행해야 할 과제를 주는 것으로 나타난다. 단지 이를 통해 모든 것이 있는 그대로 나타나야만 하는, 변하지 않는 자연의 법칙을 설명할 수 있다. 사람의 의지가 이 자연의 법칙을 바꿀 수 없다. 왜냐하면 사람의 뜻 위에 하나님의 뜻이 있기 때문이다.

태고적부터 가장 작은 피조물에서 사람에 이르기까지 모든 창조물은 하나님의 뜻이 형상화된 것이다. 모든 것이 하나님의 뜻에 종속되어 있고, 하나님의 뜻에 맞서 싸울 수 없다. 이 땅의 통치자들이 겉보기에 일어나는 일을 결정할지라도, 항상 주님이 허용할 때 비로소 통치자가 일을 꾸밀 수 있다. 주님은 항상 자신의 뜻에 어긋나는 일을 막을 권세가 있다. 그러나 영적인 존재의 성숙을 위해, 존재하는 모든 것 안에 영적인 존재가 담겨있고, 모든 일어나는 일이 이런 영적인 존재의 계속되는 성장을 위해 섬기기 때문에, 창조주 하나님은 또한 비록 사람의 의지가 하나님의 질서를 위반하더라도, 사람의 의지가 수행되도록 허용한다. 이런 사람의 의지의 결과는 단지 사람 자신에게 재앙이 되게 역사한다.

다시 말해, 비록 이 땅에서 일어나는 일이 가장 큰 불행으로 이어진다 하더라도 영적인 관점에서 유익이 없는 일은 없다. 고통과 슬픔은 영적 성장을 위한 도구이다. 그러므로 인간의 의지가 나쁜 의도를 가지고 정한 조치가, 따라서 하나님의 뜻에 합당할 수 없는 조치가 다시 영적인 교육의 수단으로 바뀌어 진다. 그러므로 연약하고, 하나님을 구하는 사람들에게는 축복이 된다. 그러나 불의하게 조치를 취한 사람에게 불의가 다시 돌아가고, 그는 이에 합당하게 속죄를 해야만 한다.

사람의 의지는 자유하다. 그러나 주님은 필요에 따라 이 의지를 통해 얻은 모든 것을 구원에 도움이 되는 일로, 혼의 구원에 도움을 주는 일로 바꾼다. 그러나 아직 인간의 단계에 있지 않은 모든 존재는 항상 하나님의 뜻에 종속되어 있고, 항상 하나님의 지혜로운 계획에 따라 모든 물질을 통과하는 길을 가야만 한다. 이런 뜻에 저항할 수 있는 권세는 없다. 그러므로 하나님을 아직 깨닫지 못한, 하나님으로부터 나온 영은 형체 안에 묶여 있다. 다시 말해 마지막 육신을 입을 때까지, 하나님의 뜻에 인도를 받고, 우주 가운데 그가 할 일을 정함 받는다.

인간의 행동과 사고는 이 땅의 삶에서 완전히 독립이 되어 살고 있다는 잘못된 견해를 갖게 한다. 그러나 이 땅의 삶은 영적인 성장에 도움이 되는 한도 내에서, 어떤 세상적인 의미에서 계속 인도를 받는다. 그러나 모든 영적인 삶에는 영향을 전혀 미치지 못한다. 인간의 의지는 세상적인 의미에서 가능한 한 존중이 되고, 의지의 효과는 각 개인의 혼의 구원의 필요성에 따라 약화되거나 더 나은 방향으로 바뀐다.

그러나 영적인 관점으로 어떤 존재도 의지의 강요를 두려워할 필요가 없고, 이제 모든 영의 힘이 존재에게 제공된다. 반면에 모든 영적인 존재들은 단지 하늘과 땅의 주님를 섬겨야만 한다. 섬기는 목적은 존재가 스스로 다시 위를 향해, 영적으로 높은 곳을 향해, 계속 성장하기 위해서이다. 성장하는 목적은 최종적으로 인간의 단계를 거쳐, 인간의 단계에서 얻을 수 있는 의지의 자유로, 물질로부터 자유롭게 되고, 수천 년 간의 투옥에서 자신을 구원해주는 영적으로 성숙한 상태에 도달하기 위해서이다.

Divine will.... earthly measures.... serving all spiritual....

Understand that the world with all that is in it serves the lord of heaven and earth. It is enlivened by His spirit, and even if this spirit does not recognize itself correctly, whether it wants to escape from the eternal divinity.... it must serve against its will and submit to the will of the lord. And this expresses itself in the purpose of every work of creation, its task and activity in the entire universe. And only in this way can the immutability of the laws of nature be explained, only in this way can it be understood that everything must come to pass and shape itself in nature as it is.... and the will of man cannot bring about a change in it. Because God’s will is above its will. Since time immemorial everything created is the will of God in form, from the smallest creature right up to man.... Everything is subject to the divine will and cannot fight against it, and whether earthly rulers also seem to determine the events, they can only take shape in this way when the lord gives His consent.... He always has the power to prevent what goes against His will.... However, since it concerns the maturing of the spiritual substance, since everything in existence contains spiritual substances and every event serves the further development of these spiritual substances, the divine creator also allows the human being's will to be carried out, even though it contravenes divine order, it is just that the consequences of such a will have a disastrous effect on people themselves. And again, no event is without any benefit in a spiritual respect, even if it results in the greatest earthly misery. Suffering and sorrow are aids to spiritual higher development.... And thus measures imposed by human will with bad intentions, which therefore cannot correspond to divine will, will change again into spiritual means of education and thus be a blessing for weak but God-seeking earthly children, whereas the unlawful action of the person who thus decrees will fall back on him and must be atoned for accordingly. The human being's will is free, however, the lord transforms everything brought about by this will into salutary events that serve the salvation of the soul, according to necessity. Everything else, however, which is not yet in the human stage, is constantly subject to God's will and always has to go its way through all matter according to divinely wise plan. And there is no power whatsoever which can work against this will.... therefore the spirit out of God, which however does not recognize Him, is banished in form.... i.e. until the last embodiment is completely directed by the divine will and assigned its activity in the universe. Human action and thinking gives rise to the erroneous view that it is completely independent in earthly life, yet this too is in a certain, i.e., earthly sense, constantly directed, as far as it is conducive to spiritual development.... However, all spiritual life is entirely free from influence.... In earthly relationship the human being's will is respected as far as possible and the effects mitigated or changed for the better, depending on the necessity for the salvation of the individual.... In spiritual relationship, however, no being has to fear a compulsion of will, only all spiritual strength is at the being's disposal, just as everything spiritual must serve the lord of heaven and earth, but only for the purpose of developing itself upwards again, to the spiritual height, in order to ultimately also be able to go through the stage as a human being and the associated freedom of will, which gives it the final opportunity to overcome matter and to reach a state of spiritual maturity, which is its release from thousands of years of captivity....
