Il progresso dell’anima - La volontà divina

Può corrispondere alla Volontà di Dio solamente ciò che contribuisce al perfezionamento dell’anima. Ed è da usare la misura su ciò che è da considerare importante nella vita terrena. Non ha nessun valore per l’Eternità compiere delle cose, che non significano nessuna possibilità di progresso per l’anima, perché allora l’uomo usa in modo sbagliato la Forza che gli è data per lo sviluppo verso l’Alto, e quindi perde anche il tempo che era stato concesso per questo. Se l’uomo sottopone ad un esame il suo pensare ed agire, deve sempre poterlo mettere in sintonia con la Volontà divina, cioè deve aver per conseguenza una maturità animica, e per questo non sono necessarie delle azioni esteriori che non sono espressamente delle opere d’amore, quindi di salvezza per il prossimo. Una serie di buone azioni garantisce la maturazione dell’anima, la spinge incontro alla perfezione, di conseguenza l’uomo adempie allora la Volontà divina, quando esegue ciò che ha per conseguenza l’avvicinamento a Dio. L’allontanamento da Dio era il motivo per il sorgere di ciò che circonda l’uomo. Ora questo deve contribuire a diminuire la lontananza. Quello che ora viene intrapreso per raggiungere questa meta, corrisponde alla Volontà di Dio. Ma quello che è semplicemente uno scopo a sé stesso, cioé che serve al ben vivere terreno oppure contribuisce ad aumentare la materia, aumenta la lontananza da Dio, quindi non può essere voluto da Dio.

Progress of the soul.... divine will....

Only that which contributes to the perfection of the soul can correspond to God's will. And this is the standard to be applied as to what is important to observe in earthly life. It is of no value for eternity to accomplish things which do not signify a possibility of progress for the soul, for then the human being will utilize the strength given to him for higher development in the wrong way and thus the time granted to him for this purpose will also be lost. If the human being subjects his thoughts and actions to scrutiny he must always be able to bring them into harmony with divine will, i.e. they must result in spiritual maturity, and therefore external actions are not necessary which are not expressed works of love, thus they will benefit his neighbour....

A sequence of good deeds guarantees the maturing of the soul, the soul strives towards perfection, consequently the human being then fulfils the divine will when he carries out what brings him closer to God. The distance from God was the cause for the emergence of that which surrounds man. Now this is to contribute to reducing the distance. What is now undertaken to achieve this goal is in accordance with God's will. But what is merely an end in itself, what serves earthly well-being or contributes to the increase of matter, increases the distance from God and therefore cannot be God-willed.... (interruption)
