Senza il Dono dell’illuminazione interiore passate ignari attraverso la vita terrena. Credete bensì di essere sapienti, perché siete provvisti dall’eterno Creatore con intelletto e ragione, ma li potete usare solo nel senso terreno, finché non chiedete a Dio l’illuminazione dello spirito. Quindi, spirito ed intelletto non sono lo stesso, l’uomo può usare il suo intelletto, senza aver risvegliato in sé lo spirito. Potrà registrare i più grandi successi terreni attraverso il suo pensare d’intelletto e comunque camminare nella più profonda oscurità dello spirito. E nello stesso modo un uomo con lo spirito risvegliato alla vita può essere straordinariamente attivo, in modo che è anche riconoscibile esteriormente, e per questo non deve necessariamente avvalersi del pensare d’intelletto. Ora l’uomo può esprimersi oltremodo saggio, cioè portare a conoscenza ai prossimi un grande sapere, per cui non era necessario nessun particolare lavoro d’intelletto. Quindi non è assolutamente necessario un intelletto ben sviluppato, per essere ricettivo per le Sapienze divine. Sovente l’intelletto umano è persino di ostacolo per l’accoglienza del sapere spirituale, perché questo vuole penetrare liberamente nel cuore dell’uomo, ma facendo questo urta soltanto sulla resistenza del pensare d’intelletto, perché la sapienza terrena va sempre contro la Sapienza divina, finché l’uomo non riconosce lo spirito da Dio risvegliato come donatore della Sapienza. Per quello che lo spirito da Dio insegna agli uomini, non ha bisogno dell’intelletto, ma per la valutazione di ciò che lo spirito da Dio insegna, dev’essere attivo anche l’intelletto umano. Allora l’uomo deve impiegare il Dono di Dio e quindi utilizzare tutte le facoltà dategli solo per lo sviluppo verso l’Alto dell’anima, allora queste sono impiegate secondo la Volontà di Dio. All’uomo è stato dato l’intelletto per riflettere sulla sua esistenza terrena ed il suo scopo e la sua vera destinazione. Ma per questo viene utilizzato di meno. Tutto il pensare d’intelletto gira quasi sempre intorno a problemi terreni; ogni attività mentale è rivolta al miglioramento della vita terrena ed allora è attivo solo l’intelletto, ma non è ancora all’opera lo spirito da Dio. (04.07.1940) Il suo agire è solo la conseguenza di sforzi umani per indagare delle regioni spirituali, e nuovamente a questi sforzi dev’essere alla base il profondo desiderio per la Verità ed il sapere sull’eterno Divino, ma queste ricerche non vengono intraprese per via del vantaggio terreno. Lo spirito da Dio non è per nulla percettibile a quell’uomo, che ha interessi solo per problemi terreni. Costui si avvale del suo pensare d’intelletto, cioè la funzione del suo corpo per un lavoro, che sembra di nuovo appunto solo idoneo per il corpo. E questa funzione viene ora del tutto eseguita secondo la volontà dell’uomo, mentre, se è all’opera lo spirito da Dio, quando si tratta di risolvere dei problemi spirituali, la volontà umana è partecipe in quanto si affida allo Spirito divino; ma ora lo spirito da Dio ordina i pensieri, quindi l’attività mentale va incontro alla giusta conoscenza. L’uomo è quindi volenteroso di avvalersi di una Forza che non gli giunge inconsapevolmente. E lui stesso deve sviluppare questa Forza in sé attraverso una vivace attività d’amore. Quindi, può aumentare il suo pensare d’intelletto e cioè con la garanzia della piena Veridicità di ciò che è il risultato del suo pensare, mentre solo l’attività mentale non è nessuna sicurezza per l’assoluta Verità. Quindi, l’uomo stesso ha nella mano di aumentare notevolmente il suo sapere, sempre con la garanzia, di riceverlo secondo Verità, se non lascia parlare solamente l’intelletto, ma anche il cuore, perché la scintilla spirituale divina in lui può essere risvegliata solamente con il sentimento, e questo è l’amore, che dev’essere curato per il risveglio dello spirito da Dio. Senza essere attivo nell’amore, è impossibile il risveglio dello spirito da Dio, quindi la pura Verità e l’accresciuto sapere saranno sempre la conseguenza dell’attività d’amore estremamente mobile. Perciò lo spirito e l’intelletto possono agire insieme soltanto, quando l’uomo che indaga ha già formato il suo essere nell’amore ed ora la ricerca è rivolta alla soluzione di problemi spirituali, anche se allora l’attività mentale viene pure guidata dallo spirito da Dio e poi è anche garantita la Verità.

spirit - mind.... function of the body.... spirit from God....

Without the gift of inner enlightenment you go through earthly life ignorant. Although you believe yourselves to be knowledgeable because you have been endowed with intellect and reason by the eternal creator, you can only use them in an earthly sense as long as you do not ask God to enlighten your spirit. spirit and intellect are therefore not the same thing; a person can use his intellect without having awakened his spirit within himself. He can achieve the greatest earthly successes through his intellectual thinking and yet walk along in the deepest darkness of the spirit. And in the same way a spirit awakened to life can be extraordinarily active in a person so that it is also recognizable to the outside world, and intellectual thinking need not be used at all.... The human being can now express himself extremely wisely, i.e. bring great knowledge to the attention of his fellow human beings, for which no special intellectual work was necessary. So a well-developed intellect is not absolutely necessary in order to be receptive to divine wisdom. In fact, the human intellect is often an obstacle to the reception of spiritual knowledge, for this wants to penetrate the human heart unhindered but encounters resistance when only intellectual thinking is involved, because earthly wisdom always strives towards divine wisdom as long as the human being does not regocnize the awakened spirit of God as the giver of wisdom. What the spirit from God teaches man does not require the intellect, but the human intellect must also be active in order to utilize what has been taught by the spirit of God. Then man must use the gift of God and thus all abilities given to him are only useful for the higher education of the soul, then these are used according to the will of God. The human being has been given intellect in order to reflect on his earthly existence and its purpose and actual destiny. However, it is least used for this purpose. All intellectual thinking mostly revolves around earthly problems; all mental activity is aimed at improving earthly life, and thus the intellect alone is active, but the spirit from God is not yet at work....

(4.7.1940) Its working is only the result of human efforts to explore spiritual fields, and again these efforts must be based on a deep desire for truth and the knowledge of the eternal divine, but these researches must not be undertaken for the sake of earthly advantage. The spirit from God is by no means perceptible to the human being who is only interested in earthly problems. He claims his intellectual thinking, i.e. the function of his body, for a work which again only appears to be beneficial to the body. And this function is now carried out entirely according to the will of the human being, while.... thus the spirit from God is at work when it is a matter of solving spiritual problems.... the human will is only involved insofar as it leaves itself to the divine spirit; but now the spirit from God orders the thoughts, thus guides the mental activity towards the right realization. The human being is therefore willing to make use of a power that is not unconsciously available to him. And he must bring this power to unfold within himself through active loving activity.... He can therefore increase his intellectual thinking with the guarantee of the full truthfulness of what is the result of his thinking, whereas the activity of the intellect alone is no guarantee of absolute truth. The human being therefore has it in his own hands to considerably increase his knowledge, always with the guarantee that it will be conveyed truthfully if he not only lets his intellect speak but also his heart, for the divine spiritual spark in him can only be awakened emotionally, and this feeling, which has to be cultivated in order to awaken the spirit of God, is love.... Without being active in love, the awakening of the spirit of God is impossible, so pure truth and increased knowledge will always be the result of an extremely active activity of love. spirit and intellect will therefore only be able to work together when the researching human being has already shaped his nature into love and his research is now aimed at solving spiritual problems, although even then earthly thought activity will likewise be guided by God's spirit and thus also guarantee truth....
