We very often receive requests for the complete works of Bertha Dudde to be sent to us in printed form. The reason always given is that visitors want to have access to the publications even if the Internet is down for a longer period of time.
The books are produced in small editions on a voluntary basis, which is very time-consuming and expensive. The complete German work consists of three postal parcels and is not transportable in the event of a disaster.
Our 'Bertha Dudde Mobile' app allows you to take the Kundgaben and themed booklets with you on a lightweight, portable medium with low power consumption in 8 different languages.
The 'Bertha Dudde Mobile' app has the following features:
The 'Bertha Dudde Mobile' app is free of charge. No purchase price, no in-app purchases. You must provide the internet connection for installation and downloading the language files at your own expense.
The app is installed via 'sideloading'. For mobile devices, sideloading refers to the installation of apps from a source other than the official app store.
Loading apps from external sources is labelled as unsafe and dangerous by many websites. So only install 'Bertha Dudde Mobile' if you trust us. We are considering publishing it in the Google Play Store in the long term.

For a successful installation, you must follow the instructions on your mobile phone and grant permission for 'sideloading'. After the installation and the first start of the app, select the desired language(s) by tapping on the respective country flags. Once the language files have been successfully downloaded, you can disconnect your internet connection.

Why is the application not available for Apple smartphones?
Android and Apple smartphones use completely different programming languages and tools in development. Since the market share of Android smartphones is over 70% (as of June 2023), we have started developing apps for Android. We are considering developing 'Bertha Dudde Mobile' for iOS in the long term.
The app does not work on my old smartphone!
The app requires a current Android operating system with Google API 33 or higher. Please update your smartphone to Android version 13. This version is also required for publication in the Google Play Store.
I have found an error. What should I do?
The app does not update itself because it is not installed via the Google Play Store. First try reinstalling the app from our website. If the problem persists, we would be pleased to receive a bug report to our e-mail address redaktion@bertha-dudde.org. Please let us know all the information that led to the error.
My app establishes an internet connection to bertha-dudde.org every time I start it, why is that?
When you start the app, it tries to download a small configuration file with the available languages and version information to alert you when the language files are updated. If you do not have an internet connection, you can still use the app with the languages already installed. You can switch off the associated warning messages and update offers in the settings.
